Ugh this makes me so sad. My daughter has been doing this since around 12. I found out when she was in her later teens that she had been buying all of my presents (with his money) and my ExH (her dad) was taking all the credit for it. SMH

You know what is so sad about this? There are still so many women out there willing to do 50/50 and all that other stuff just to have the "pleasure" of a man in their life. It's so frustrating to try to turn this boat around.

I do these things for myself not to attract men. I feel good when I think I look good. It doesn’t make me a pick me. I have very firm boundaries in my relationships.

I have a liberal arts degree which seems to be the butt of almost every degree joke and I have made a nice little career from it. A degree is still a degree and will open doors for you.

After one year the discussion of where do you see us going needs to happen. There are numerous studies that show that men KNOW by 6 months if you are the one they want to marry and they lose respect for you if you hang around after two years. They just keep you around as placeholders and then will dump you when they find that one special person. Ladies - do not be placeholders. Straighten your crown and move the F on after 2 years. Done and bye.

Why do they have to comment on everything that we do? She never said she was single mother and if she was - good for her for raising her children without having to deal with a male adult child. I commit to myself everyday - to do better, be a better person, have a more satisfying life, better my career, give back to my community etc. Also for the male lurkers - I have a boyfriend and he is amazing. He shows up as he should as my partner. He is there for me and treats me so well. Rise up to those…

Preach! Do not do last minute dates. I will not accept a date that is planned less than three days in advance. I also will not plan said date or pay for it. If he wants to split the check - I do and then leave without him. This sub is about standards and having standards is a good thing! "Men who love Bitches" is a great book. So is "Power of the Pussy". They are very much a like and I've read them both several times over. They are very empowering reads and I love reading them when I am feeling down about dating and being single.

And really the less available a woman is and the more she has boundaries and enforces those boundaries the more high value and valuable she becomes in his eyes. Even he realizes that if a woman will do or say anything he wants - he doesn't desire her long term.

I love how his gift to you was still a gift for him - a plane ticket for him to visit you. He sure thought he was the prize in this relationship. I'm happy you dumped him now time to level up. Also, I am so tired of the lingerie as a gift.

The thing about this actually is that procreation should come from love - two males can have a child. So it's not about that. It's veiled homophilia that he is talking about. The man can find a woman willing to have his child - it may cost money or it may be a female friend. There is always a way. Life finds a way to live.

I really just don't get it. I really don't. Why is that sexually enticing. It is literally women sweating and working out and just doing their thing and they have to sexualize it. It is just so disgusting. It's like the men who make breast feeding a sexual fetish. No asshole - I am just feeding my child so they can survive - not doing something to give you a boner. (Do people still say boner? I haven't been in the wild for a while). Also want to edit to say if she comes here - please realize you…

My kids have always been aware that I was the one who did all the Hanukkah and Christmas magic. It was incredibly stressful every year but I loved making them happy. Glad to see this real work is at least being acknowledged by some men. Not enough men but then again that would take a Christmas miracle.

Thanks to this sub and lots of therapy after my divorce - I am doing the bare minimum in my current relationship. He pays for 90% of everything. He picks me up from my house to do dates at his house (because Covid has us in total lockdown right now). I am making one dish at his place for NYE and he is providing everything else. IT IS SO FREEING. Now I get why the NVM love it so much. I am having the best time not doing a thing except look pretty.

I am so happy you dodged that bullet. I did go forward with a marriage that I did not want to in my 20's and that day was not full of joy but sadness for me. I wish I would have had someone say to me - you don't owe him anything. You don't have to do this. Btw - my marriage lasted 5 months because he cheated on me.

I'm usually not attracted to a man until I get to know him. If he pursues me, plans nice dates and always pays, respects my boundaries, is intelligent and funny and is fun to be around - that is usually enough to create some sparks. Also he needs to be clean, have good manners etc (the basics). They are out there. I have been dating one for about two months. Thanks to this awesome group I also continuously vet him to make sure he stays this way. The jury is still out but so far so good. ps - you…

Yes I do. I split up with my 20 year husband 2.5 years ago and did a lot of self work. Recently have been dating a really great guy for two months but I am torn between cutting him loose and keeping him around. I really loved the person I was becoming but the attention he requires takes energy that I could be spending elsewhere. He is a very good man though. Brings me flowers every week. First of all - never ever pay for the the vacation rental. EVER. Let men plan stuff and pay for it - AGAIN LET MEN PLAN STUFF AND PAY FOR IT. That is the only way they can truly appreciate the experience of being with you and giving a gift. That is the only way they will see you as the amazing person that you are. Because they have to work for it. If they work for it you are worth it. I don't make the rules but just saying. And I am tired of men so there you go.

This makes me so sad and so mad. This is why you need to leave after two years tops - if you actually want to marry him. If he mocks you, disrespects you, devalues you - in any way. LEAVE. It will not get better. In fact it will get worse. Trust me - I know.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/12/20 02:13 AM

Absolutely correct! They will see you as weak and continue to take advantage of you. As women we do it out of love but they see it as weakness. It makes me incredibly sad that we have to be so on guard all the time to not be taken advantage of. Set your boundaries. Do not let anyone cross them.

This so much. We did couples counseling for a lot of our marriage and it helped not one iota. My husband loved to go though because it meant he had a ready made audience that he could talk at for a solid hour. He took no lessons from it at all. The therapist used to call me "low hanging fruit" which I always was insulted by but never said anything. It totally made me feel so low and terrible about myself. You better believe I would say something now.

Oh this is a fun poll. Right after my ex husband split up after 20 years - we still did Christmas together because of the kids. I bought him several thoughtful gifts - espresso maker, a really nice beer growler, some cool hipster clothes. He gave me - a dish towel. Ready for it - a dish towel from a family vacation I was not invited to. I took said dish towel and cleaned the toilet with it. 😆

I haven't done a ton of online dating because I've really only been single for two years and I hate OLD. I guess my worst one would be a coffee date where he hadn't showered (like I could smell him) he was rumpled looking - I had to buy my own coffee and he bought himself coffee and a muffin. He was super boring, unemployed and I just had to leave after 30 mins of this crap. He later texted me to ask if we had any chemistry.
