Would you say the same if it was a man slapping a woman, then she fought back like this? You can't have it both ways.

Yep I agree there. They have to cater to a much larger audience now. As cool as an accurate WW2 game would be, I don't think the general population would buy into. Which is unfortunate. I'm sure we'll start seeing this with other genres too. At least it's unlikely to be as bad as COD WWII! Fingers crossed.

Well I don't think there is much room for discussion on this then. They are marketing this game just like they did for Battlefield 1 and games before it. I can't stop people from building up expectations that may or may not happen. My expectations are that this is a Battlefield WW2 game, not just a WW2 game. And I think that's what people are getting hung up on. If players had expectations that this Battlefield release would be any more true to history than the previous games in the series, I re…

I understand the point you're trying to make. I'm trying to show you how ridiculous it is. Battlefield has ALWAYS taken liberties when its come to realism. Are you really saying that every single Battlefield release has gotten you riled up, just because it's not real war? If we had your way, there would ONLY be military simulators like Arma and Squad. And that's where I don't understand where you're coming from. Why get worked up over the lack of realism when this is always how this series (and …

Your first issue was that there were women in the game. Then it's okay because they were there, just not prevelant. But now it is the issue with pirate arms. So just from glancing at the game trailer, you KNOW it's not historically accurate. So at this point I don't know what you're upset about.

To be honest I think you answered your own question by mentioning military simulators. So it seems you know there is a difference between Battlefield/COD games and games like Arma/Squad. One obviously has more flexibility than the other.

"...fantasy version of a WWII game". Video games ARE, and have ALWAYS been, a fantasy. I see no reason why developers/publishers have any responsibility to limit players' customization options simply because "that's not how it really happened". I'm on this sub every day and support most opinions I see here. But this is the one that I just can't get behind. Ninja edit: Also the downvotes are not coming from me. I think it is a fair discussion.

Right? Some people want to play as women on a battlefield. So what? Are we supposed to just NEVER allow women in war related games, because someone thinks it strips those men of their sacrifices? I mean, come on.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
