I would not class women in their 20s as barely legal. And no, the male loneliness epidemic doesn't stem from them exclusively wanting younger women. A vast majority of men would rather have a girlfriend than none at all, if the opportunity to date someone younger and hot arises then they are likely to take it - but having someone close to their age or even slightly older is still better than none at all.
