This scenario is shitty. And I agree wrong. If, however, we have 20 brilliant men, 10 terrible men, 20 average women, and 10 terrible women (random sampling, not saying these would be the actual ratios), and only 15 jobs. If the owner of a company wants to hire the 10 best men, and broaden the search to find 5 capable women? That's their prerogative, and more power to them.
