I track my budget carefully each month and do my best to stay under budget so that I have enough money to save/invest each month. I just said this in another comment, but nursing is a classic example of a high floor, low ceiling type of job, particularly compared to other jobs that require 4-year degrees. Many women pick it because it’s not super hard (outside of some extra long shifts) and doesn’t require a ton of expertise. Nursing is like the ultimate high floor, low ceiling type of job for jobs that people go to college for. Pay is decent to good, but will never be amazing. Benefits (mainly healthcare) are solid too. As someone else said though, I feel like schools are ripping off nurses by making it a 4-year degree. Most of the nurses I know are not that bright lol.
