Feminist elementary school teacher brags about how he discriminates against his male studentsMe and my friends are pretty cruel in our jokes. They didn't know how much it stung. If they did, they never would have joked about it. My university had a smaller program. Only a few of the freshmen classes had lab assistants who might have helped grade occasionally, but all classes after that had only the professor and no TA. And thank you for your kind words. I need to remind myself often that I earned my degree through hard work, not because of my gender. | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 07:30 PM
The sweet pink rules of feminismWow. Just... wow. Thank you for typing this whole thing up. I really appreciate it! Everything you say makes sense, yet it is an opinion that I have literally never heard before so I'm a bit thrown. Which makes me really want to debate you on this, but I know that I know nothing about this topic and I'll just end up saying stupid things I know nothing about. So basically, you've rendered me pretty speechless. That's not an easy task. In all seriousness, this gives me quite a lot to think about. … | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 02:34 PM
Feminist elementary school teacher brags about how he discriminates against his male studentsA lot of the questions aren't exactly straightforward. There can be a lot of right answers when you are talking about things beyond algorithms and strict code. I wish I had an old exam nearby so I could give a good example, but I can't find any right now. And actually, I misremembered. It was a project that got returned, not an exam. It was my freshman year of college, 2nd semester. The professor was notoriously difficult. Your program could technically work, yet still lose lots of points for in… | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 12:15 PM
The sweet pink rules of feminismThe insulting part wasn't exactly directed towards you. I was looking more at aetheralloy's posts where he called c0ld smug, condescending, patronizing, and obtuse. Now, when you say "anti-feminist", what exactly does that mean for you? I know there are a few different ways to define it but I just want your viewpoint. I do respect some forms of feminism. None of the radical stuff, of course. I would say that my respect for feminism and my respect for those fighting for men's rights is about equa… | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 10:18 AM
Feminist elementary school teacher brags about how he discriminates against his male studentsNo, but that's the issues. Whether or not I get any preferential treatment doesn't matter. It's just always a nagging thought. Did I earn this A for real? Was it inflated? Is it a "pity" grade? In one of my classes, we all check out each other's exam project grades right after we get them. Occasionally, I'll have one of the higher grades while everyone else in my class (all male) did poorly. It really sucks to be told that "You only go that because you are a girl." It MUST be preferential treatm… | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 06:04 AM
Feminist elementary school teacher brags about how he discriminates against his male studentsHoly crap. I never knew how skewed the suicide rates were. Thanks for the info! Over in TwoX there is a discussion about opening men's shelters. I think I might use that quote, because it perfectly shows that men need a support system just as much as women do. Maybe the issues aren't the same, but everyone needs a safe place to discuss frustrations and feelings. | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 05:52 AM
Feminist elementary school teacher brags about how he discriminates against his male studentsHere is my point of view. In college, I had a lot of opportunities to apply for grants and stuff that explicitly stated that women and minorities would get priority. It made me kind of bummed to think that I could get money instead of some white guy who might have deserved it or needed it more, simply because I was a woman. It taints the process. The CS program at my university was 93% male, so I was a huge minority. A few of my classmates joked that I got good grades because I was a girl and th… | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 05:29 AM
The sweet pink rules of feminismTo be honest... I have to agree with c0ld. I would not call myself a feminist. I'm usually a downvote magnet in TwoX because I find myself sticking up for men's views and men's rights quite a bit. Yet, reading this post even made me feel a bit weird. Not insulted exactly, but just uneasy. I didn't find it to be funny, either. It just seemed childish. I think many MRA's and feminists share the same desire for equality, but posts like this only pushes the moderate ones away. And being insulting to… | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 05:07 AM
Paternity Fraud hits redditIf you ever needed any proof the feminist movement was a hate movement, here's their official position on paternity fraud: Where did you get this "official" stance from? I only ask because I didn't see any comments like this in that thread, and I can't find a consensus on the issue while searching. | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 04:52 AM
Feminist elementary school teacher brags about how he discriminates against his male studentsEven though he doesn't seem to understand it, he's teaching the kids in his class that "women are weak" by his own discriminatory and unfair behavior towards them. Couldn't agree more. It's like "hey, women are inferior so therefore they need all the advantages!" It's incredibly insulting. | /r/MensRights | 05/05/12 04:37 AM
