I'm on the same boat as you. I was willing to just have her take the house on the grounds that she buy me out fairly of the equity that we earned TOGETHER. It's been two years and since she's tried to devalue the house, not completed any repairs from damage prior to our separation (she has the insurance money to do so), and found other damages she is claiming that far exceeds the amount of half the equity owed to me. I can get further into the details. Anyway, so there was a court-ordered apprai…

I was promised this & was told to get a hotel to think things through. Next thing I know it, I'm getting texts accusing me that I abandoned the household. Do NOT leave the house until a signed agreement is in place. PERIOD.

OMG. Same here, third marriage counselor session the therapist suggested some ideas from me. Ex didn't like that, and she proceeded to cancel our sessions. I thought I was the only one, but I guess not. We've been separated for almost 2 years, trying to work things out with the lawyers and everything else. 50-50 custody agreement but she is still trying to get 100% which boggles everyone's mind that I mentioned it to. Funny thing is, she calls me the narcissist. I'm on my second therapist and I'…

I'd have to agree with this. Why ask her to refinance at these interest rates? Look to get the assumption done. Make it easy for all parties, especially your kids. WTF is wrong with the OP?

I don't think I wanted "more", just equal respect. I found myself catering to her every whim. "Happy wife, happy life", whoever believes that needs to get therapy. I did. Yes things are different. Yes I wish that I'm less worried about bills. Yes I wish I could go on that vacation with my son. Am I happier? Yes. It's different for the better. No longer worrying about trying to keep someone else happy that just refused to be happy. Bills hopefully will balance out in time. Lawyer bill sucks, that…

I'm on the same boat as you. No reason not to have 50/50 other than her ego. Separated for a year, had my son 50/50 and he's thriving in school and I'm the one taking him for haircuts, to the pool, out with his best friend, etc. You name it, I get it done. Our divorce isn't final and my lawyer says I just gotta keep it up until the final order is signed.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
