They’re afraid of themselves. Controlling people have a lot of inner demons.

I’m sorry OP, but he literally told you why. He was with you for the distraction & as soon as more was required, he bailed, using his divorce as an excuse.

You’re on here, though, which makes you acutely aware of it & that’s a product of your upbringing/environment. It’s not back & white, of course, but it’s long been recognised as a right wing ideology.

It’s a right wing ideology. Right wingers are steeped in this dogma.

Lol. No dude. It’s an ancient spiritual & mediative practice. It’s also wise, but people aren’t wise these days.

This isn’t accurate. Go to very old churches & cemeteries & check out the ages on tombstones. I was a church recently that was built in 1094. It was full of very old graves, within its floors & walls & large graveyard. There were countless graves for people in their 70s, 80s to late 80s. I was actually genuinely surprised.

No. It’s not progress. Progress would be detachment & letting it all go.

These surveys are always bs, as described here - https://www.edwest.co.uk/p/why-men-dont-age-like-wine

It was only once & was probably crap. Are you finding it hard to let go because you believe women have to really like the guy to have sex? Or that her having had sex will increase her attraction to him, over you? Because that’s all bull.

I suspect the “girl” you’re hanging with knows/intuits you’d “NEVER consider a serious long term relationship” & that’s why she’s looking at other men. It’s very much a self fulfilling prophecy & ultimately just typical generic egoic bullshit between the two of you. If the story reversed, no one would judge you.

You have to put things into context. Happily married men won’t be here. The sub is overwhelmingly reflective of issues/attitudes in the American population. It’s sub of less then 18K, a literal blip on any population.

Ask yourself if a financially independent woman should commit to a man who already has children?

The only thing permanent in life, is impertinence. Give yourself the love & validation you crave. The rest is a temporary fix.

I never had anyone in my life say, hey, I stopped liking my partner after stopping birth control. It may happen, but I dunno. There was probably an issue before.

Not all women have crazy hormones. I never did. I personally think diet is more important. The better my diet, the better I feel. Also, the one time I was on birth control for a number of years, it made no different to my relationship, before or after.

Sure, but like I said, a bad profile is a bad profile. I think that’s actually the issue.

I just googled it & saw this… “Women, on the other hand, are harsh with their ratings. According to the study, they rate a whopping 80% of men on the site as ‘below average”. “And perhaps more telling: women don’t seem to be opposed to actually contacting these men that they’ve just deemed unattractive.” That’s some good news, though, lol 😊 My initial guess is that this is probably actually down to bad profiles & bad photos, which are surprisingly common. This doesn’t make someone literally unat…

I do enjoy seeing both sides, that’s why I read this sub. I just wanted to comment, because I think men are fed this narrative that we’re all swimming in matches, when it simply isn’t true.

I know I’m not welcome here, as a woman, but I’ve never been hit up by 500 dudes. It’s literally been a few a day, so I really don’t think this narrative is universal. And no, I’m not unattractive. I do avoid anything that might be considered a hook up app though, which might make a difference.

Nothing is life is all bad. I don’t enjoy OLD, but try anyway, because it’s difficult to meet people otherwise & doing nothing only guarantees failure. You just have to not take it too seriously & take breaks here & there, if needed. I’ve learned a lot as a person & people do met online. I know some nice couples, personally.
/r/Divorce_Men05/06/23 11:42 PM

I agree. I do sometimes see women on here, but I haven’t seen them made welcome, especially if they disagree. But it’s understandable, since the people on these subs are often struggling.
/r/Divorce_Men29/05/23 07:05 PM

Indeed, your observations are wise. I’m a woman, so know I shouldn’t be here, but yes, I’d be pretty horrified to meet someone like that. It represents a deeply unhealthy psyche, that’ll only result in more pain & disappointment for all. It’s a self for-filling prophecy.

It’s very psychologically persuasive, but ultimately not helpful.

I’ve no belief in the alpha male concept, I was just quoting OP, who evidently does.

Surly limiting these calls is the answer? To once a day? Because if, as you say, they KEEP calling, that’ll be the biggest stressor. Also, how old are they? Kids often use technology the minute they’re bored & they may just be calling mum for something to do. It all sounds pretty unnecessary. If you want to be “alpha” set boundaries.

No situation is entirely black & white. It’s important to be cautious, I agree, but I don’t personally have the heart to immediately jump to “F that person”. In truth, only OP knows his ex, so what we say is kind of moot. I’m sure he’ll do his best & figure it out for himself. Beyond a certain point though, yes, people should just leave others to it.

I’ve never been a target, thank you. Suggesting someone seek help isn’t a big deal.

Not much you can do, but never lose compassion. Addiction is an awful thing. I know people who’ve taken their lives from ongoing trauma/hitting rock bottom. Encourage her to speak to her doctor about getting clean/accessing local addiction support networks.

Stop. Take responsibility. Get therapy. If you weren’t verbally abusive there wouldn’t be any harassment treats to begin with.

No problem 😌 It’s difficult developing boundaries when you’re young. Just hold tight on personal details & don’t let anyone shame you for it.

Why? Probably selfishness & the rush. People tend to learn the hard way.

What makes someone go from perfection to abusive? What is it that snaps inside them? It’s so crazy how these things happen.

Nope. I’m introverted, so I can’t keep up with outgoing. I like confidence, but not dominance.

Next time a colleague asks about your private life, please hold firm & say you don’t discuss it. There’s no reason why this person should have known about your virginity, or pushed for conversational details.

You’re getting it. These subs are all echo chambers, but people find them comforting & validating, so they won’t want to hear it.

It comes from childhood trauma. Not awful trauma necessarily, but from something in early development that shapes your attachment style.

Wow. I hope she leaves you. You’re an a hole who needs therapy. I mean, your type loves to call women illogical, but this really takes the biscuit. You’re paranoid, selfish & abusive & only upset because if she leaves you it’ll hurt your pathetic feelings & force you to face your own bs.

I’m not saying women don’t receive thoughtful responses. We absolutely do, of course, but there’s a lot of BS in between. And as nice as these responses are, you’re mistaken in assuming each one represents a potential boyfriend, or partner, or husband. Mostly it’s just about sex. Your post was innocent & sweet, so yes, it’ll get attention, but it doesn’t reflect a women. It also doesn’t reflect something someone looking for a serious long term relationship, would write about, or be looking for. …

Lol. Most red flags don’t appear until later on. Say once you’re off the app & opening up the conversation. Or once you’re on the 1st date or actually dating.

Lol. This YouTuber knows he’s lying. It’s simply a marketing ruse. These people don’t care about men. All they care about is money. They pray on your insecurity. They pretend to want to help you, but gaslight you to death. It’s not all bad of course, they know to mix truth with fiction, because that’s what crates the hook & stops you waking up. You’re their source of income, so they know they have to play on your insecurities & dangle that impossibly high carrot.
