If you have nothing genuine to add about those artists i would just gow with "Sabrina over Taylor? Blasphemous". Or make a comment on one of her top songs or total time. Most people aren't commenting. So that alone at least sets you apart.

Yes. Something that has helped immensely when it comes to consistency is focusing on momentum. Going from being nervous to immediately trying to close is a recipe for disaster. You can replicate this in real life. Guys, go to a strip club and sit at the bar. Lots of strippers will approach you. Some will just ask if you want a lap dance. Others will compliment you and ask about you. This is by far the closest you can get to understanding a woman's perspective at a bar. All that to say, OP is right. Interest and a little bit of effort can go a long way.
