Let's set aside the "it's in my body for 9 months" and the man has to only pay for 18 years" argument for a few secondsAnd that's the question. Currently, bodily autonomy wins the argument - and, because a baby is a helpless thing that two people created, the man has to help if the woman chooses to go through with birth. Idk what the better solution is. A man can't condemn a child to a shitty life when he helped make it. You can't force a woman to have an abortion if the man doesn't want it. You can't force a woman to carry a baby to term if the man wants it and she doesn't. Or do you think those forceful ideas … | /r/MensRights | 31/05/19 09:10 AM
Let's set aside the "it's in my body for 9 months" and the man has to only pay for 18 years" argument for a few secondsUnderstood, and this is an aspect of the current system that does bother me. If the kid is half of you, I believe you bear some responsibility. If it turns out the kid isn't yours due to infidelity or deceit, responsibility should legally shift to the real father, imo. I know the current system is designed to benefit the kid no matter which adults it pushes around, but this scenario rustles my jimmies. | /r/MensRights | 30/05/19 03:12 PM
| -1 | Let's set aside the "it's in my body for 9 months" and the man has to only pay for 18 years" argument for a few secondsBut a child always involves more than one person. You would have provided half of its genome. Just because you don't want it doesn't mean it isn't yours. But because you don't want it and would have preferred an abortion, you shouldn't have to do your part in providing for it? I guess that's the debate. Seems like that would be condemning a lot of kids to poverty. You never get sole, unrestricted control of your money. See: Taxes. | /r/MensRights | 30/05/19 02:40 PM |

Let's set aside the "it's in my body for 9 months" and the man has to only pay for 18 years" argument for a few secondsMaybe it doesn't necessarily get resolved. Men are still automatically eligible for draft at 18 and women aren't (in the US at least). Inequality exists. Childbirth can't ever be truly equal because the biology of the matter is unequal. Maybe then the rest of the responsibilities that follow won't ever be truly equal, either. I don't know. | /r/MensRights | 30/05/19 12:54 PM
| -1 | Let's set aside the "it's in my body for 9 months" and the man has to only pay for 18 years" argument for a few secondsI'm not a parent, but I suppose thats already a possibility. If the mother wants it and the father doesn't, and the mother is willing to go it alone, she doesn't have to pursue child support through the courts, but most people aren't in that position. But if the party that wants it can't manage alone, the other party responsible has to pitch in, somehow. If we're debating the legality of forcing someone into paying for something they don't want.... This isn't a philosophy sub, and an infant isn'… | /r/MensRights | 30/05/19 12:41 PM |
Let's set aside the "it's in my body for 9 months" and the man has to only pay for 18 years" argument for a few secondsBecause once a baby is here in the world it's helpless. If you snuff it out in development, it doesn't cost anyone anything except potential emotional trauma and a one time payment. Babies are made by two people. Once it's here, the people that made it have to provide for it because it is, again, helpless. If you didn't want a baby, you shouldn't have had sex blah blah blah. It's an ethical minefield of responsibility, bodily autonomy, value of human life, the existence of the soul, fetal develo… | /r/MensRights | 30/05/19 11:51 AM

This is Andrew Chael. He wrote 850,000 of the 900,000 lines of code that were written in the historic black-hole image algorithm! It took a team of scientists and experts to make this historical thing happen. Experts of one field pulled more weight on certain tasks than other experts of other fields for obvious reasons. Can we all please stop circle jerking about which person is most deserving of credit and recognition?! A team made this this possible. Multi gendered, multinational, multicultural. This achievement does not need to be dragged down and muddied up with gender squabbles, etc. | /r/MensRights | 11/04/19 12:05 PM

Savage response. This belongs here.Because the only reason she thinks she deserves a fast pass is because she has a kid, i.e. a parent. Being a woman with a kid, this makes her a mom. Yes, she wasn't gender neutral enough. But the whole sentiment of the post is, "I have a kid, your life and problems are bullshit compared to mine, you have no idea what my struggles are like, you're just a stupid 22yo, only I know what it's really like to be tired, get out of the way so I can get coffee." | 2 | Is there such thing as "male privilege" and what are some examples? In a similar vein to your athletic argument, female pornstars get paid a lot more than their male counterparts (no source, am mobile). | 1 | Why is it ok for women to say uncircumcised penises are disgusting and to applaud mothers for having thier children circumcisedNope, am American. | 1 | Why is it ok for women to say uncircumcised penises are disgusting and to applaud mothers for having thier children circumcisedI think my example was, "can I pierce the nipples of my baby daughter because I think thats sexy?" We weren't getting anywhere and I'd effectively derailed our CaH game so we dropped it. She's going to med school soon, again I was pretty disappointed in her view. I'd like to show her cut and uncut and see if she can tell the difference. But I digress | /r/MensRights | 20/06/17 09:56 PM
Why is it ok for women to say uncircumcised penises are disgusting and to applaud mothers for having thier children circumcisedIn simpler terms with less evidence, yes I made that argument. I'm cut and I'm missing out on a lot of pleasure that I'll never know about. She insisted that is was a cosmetic decision for her, it's simply a nicer looking penis. Edit: so regardless of what he would want or his partner would want, her kid is going to have a sexy penis because it's what she wants goddammit. | /r/MensRights | 20/06/17 08:46 PM

Why is it ok for women to say uncircumcised penises are disgusting and to applaud mothers for having thier children circumcisedNo, disappointed in the hypocrisy. FGM is wrong but MGM is okay because penis looks gross. How is it people making their own decisions? It's look to me like forcibly performing unnecessary, cosmetic surgery on newborn boys because of personal sexual preference. Essentially, sexualizing a baby who doesn't even know what sex is. Where is the child's consent? Where is the child's opinion in all of this? What if they don't want to be circumcised? Apparently it doesn't matter. I don't want to brainwa… | /r/MensRights | 20/06/17 07:14 PM
Why is it ok for women to say uncircumcised penises are disgusting and to applaud mothers for having thier children circumcisedI got into a disagreement with a friend over Cards Against Humanity about this. She said she prefers the way circumcised looks and she'd do it if she had a boy. I shot back with all the regular, sound arguments. Nothing doing. We agreed to disagree. | 2 | You got this!!I've never understood this. If men have to pick the seat up..... Why can't women put the seat down? At some point someone has to touch the seat regardless, why does it matter what position it's left in? Why are we supposed to cater to women's needs? Why can't they pick up the seat when theyre done to prep for when men gotta pee? Gender roles are weird | /r/PussyPassDenied | 26/04/17 12:12 PM
