pretending that it's just a "circlejerk," not an actually feminist subreddit It's a feminist circlejerk. People who want to discuss things do it in the aptly named r/SRSDiscussion.

both terms are being deluded Eh, you probably mean "diluted".

I want to obliterate this frame right away (aw, that's cute) it just makes me angry (please kill yourself) Well, there's your problem. Instead of enjoying your time with this hilarious girl, you're winding yourself up.

I don't know where you guys keep finding these obnoxious people :/ The only women I know who expect men (family members) to fix their cars and stuff have been raised in a traditional family where work is separated into "men's work" and "women's work".

My reaction: "Yup, neither is mine! Hurray for non-infanticide!"

Ask them to bake you cookies and do your shopping in return.

Go for the "good girls" without this one trait: Gets shocked and defensive when the discussion goes to sex If she honestly feels like that, no matter how good you are in and out of bed, she's going to hate herself when it's over. You can't change someone's values in a few hours/days. And what's this about girls being "supposed" to see right through you? Social skills are learned, not genetic.

But don't you feel playful yourself when you flirt like that? I know I do :P

Here's some feedback without the seddit/PUA slant. You did two things wrong: came on too strong - words like "crazy", "perfect" plus a heap of compliments are pretty likely to scare a girl off, did it via text - you've gathered enough courage to confess your undying love, but not to face her? Maybe she was into you but needed some time, like she said. But keep in mind that you can't trade being helpful and supportive for sex (or a romantic relationship, which usually involves sex). Think of the …

Hey, how come when you do it, it's "a shit test" or "being rude", but when the guy responds in kind, it's "being playful" (or "cocky/funny", or "push/pull", as some folks here would say)?

Whats really bad about this is if you stand up for yourself there is a good chance she will find this grounds for leaving you. Don't you mean really good? Dysfunctional relationships are no fun.

nature has solved the problem of protecting mucous membranes by placing specialized immune cells there Um, you do remember that HIV attacks immune cells specifically, right? That's what makes it so evil :/ That still isn't a good reason to cut babies' bits, though. Concerned parents, give your sons some condoms when they hit puberty!

I'm a woman and I wouldn't trade my partner's enjoyment of sex for longer coitus. Not to mention that he already has great stamina, despite being uncut. So, 1) your idea of good sex is wrong, and 2) statistics can be a poor guide to improving an individual life.

I assert that the average man does not feel a compulsive urge to rape. I hope you're right, but, outside of r/MensRights/, I often see men claim that the "average man" or even all "normal" men have a very strong urge to have sex. That's why wearing a short skirt is "asking for it", and why some religions demand that women dress modestly. The truth is, people often believe everyone in their group feels like them - so you tell me not raping is easy, and other men say it's hard. identifying those i…

If we applied standards equally, I'd be a rape victim. If you were too drunk to know what you were doing, you are a rape victim, yes. "Beer goggles" is when people appear more attractive because you're tipsy - a completely different thing.

it's incredibly insulting to expect men to take pride in refraining from acting like a vile sociopath I don't think so. It seems that being a decent person is increasingly seen as "uncool" or "weak" in some subcultures. it is an aberration, not a reflection on men in general Is there anything we can do to correct these aberrations without offending some men outside the target audience, like you? The potential for abuse of such a law would be extreme. But we've agreed that having sex with someone…

Any man is a potential rapist. It's not like most men have their own ethics and sense of compassion So? I, too, am a potential thief, abuser, rapist and murderer, and my ethics and sense of compassion keep that potential unrealized. I think the campaign encourages decent men to take pride in their ethical behaviour, while giving those whose ethics are a little underdeveloped an extra push in the right direction. I've had to physically fight off someone I used to trust, so evidently not every see…

I'm sure you know as well as I do that very drunk people lose their ability to walk and think straight before they lose consciousness. Therefore, there is quite a spectrum between "tipsy" and "passed out". How about this: if you suspect someone's judgement is impaired, don't engage with them sexually.

As if rapists are just normal guys who wouldn't have done it if they had been educated that a man isn't entitled to force sex on an unwilling person just because he feels horny or paid for dinner Some of them are, yes. If an equally drunk man and women both choose to have sex with each other, he raped her. No. But anyone who is sober enough to refrain from drunken sex with a stranger should indeed back off. The campaign tries to counteract the peer pressure to "score" at any cost (even with an u…

She laughed because she was feeling awkward, not at him. That's why I said: pay close attention. And besides, what kind of asshole rejects someone by laughing in their face? Since they had been interacting for a bit at that point, I guess he'd figured out she was a decent chick.

Uh, where? I think you might have been misled by impotent_rage describing it as "he persisted in getting what he wanted" (which, I agree, could as well refer to a rape scenario). To me, it looked more like "he didn't run away at the first sign of awkwardness". Since most people are terrified of rejection, explicit sexual requests and explicit verbal consent are pretty rare. We have to pay close attention to each other's reaction to avoid misunderstandings and recover after missteps.

She kissed him. I think we can consider that an expression of consent :)

Which part of what he did do you consider "sexual contact" - the asking or the staring?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
