Uh, words have definitions. Opinions are about a thing not the meaning of a thing.

Exactly. When that's healthy, then, well, it's healthy. It feels good to be a hero, to be brave. When it's toxic, when it takes over to the point he can't ask for or get support, it can be devastating to the individual and to society.

We need more of those in the USA. Men need more support.

The movie is bad because he is emotionally abusive and the message is a woman's love changed him. Emotionally abusive PEOPLE don't change because their victims love them out of it.

Yes, this is a sad consequence of toxic masculinity. TM only shows women need help and tells men to be quiet about their pain. Woman can help too and most want to. We need to let go of the notion a man is weak to say "I need help".

This is the product of toxic masculinity. TM supports the notion men can't be raped by a woman or if raped by a man they should not talk about it. It's messed up. Men need support when raped.

Toxic feminism isn't a thing. Toxic feminity is what I think you meant to be the counterpoint of TM, but you've got that wrong too. That is when a woman believes her only reasons for being alive is to be pretty to look at, clean up after their husbands and have sex and babies when he wants. TM does not mean masculinity is toxic. Mansplaining isn't when men give opinions, it's when men think the woman can't understand the subject and explains what she already knows. Like if he tells her what it's…

Men that talk to women at work are not necessarily setting "boundaries" when they mention spouse. They might actually be having a simple work friend conversation and sharing that aspect.

This explains a lot I hadn't thought about.

He's a jerk. A creep. You asked him to stop. You said no. He's the wrong one here. He is to blame for his bad behavior. Block him everywhere and don't apologize for it to anyone. Take your power back. And don't waste too much time on the goodbye message. Better to just block. Good luck.

Fascinating. Sad and not surprising. I told a guy we weren't a match because his profile was how much he enjoyed sports. I'm not doing that again. He said he just put that in there but really is not a big sports guy. I'm like, soooo how can I ever believe you? Haha...sigh...

Disney's version of Beauty and the Beast is among the worst. In the original story, after he's changed into the beast he begins to work on himself. He becomes educated, refined, cultured, and kind. He went from LVM to HVM because he wanted to. Belle falls in love because he's healthy. Disney leaves him as a beast who literally screams at her. There's a whole song about her taming him. I almost lost it in the theater. I had a robust discussion with my daughter after to undo the damage. I call it …

Yes. After escaped my marriage I could suddenly easily detect gaslighting, etc. in the new men I dated and quickly dealt with it with goodbye. And the opposite, what you describe, happens. When a man behaves in a healthy manner I'm surprised. Wait, I told you how I feel about something wrong and you want to have a mature and kind conversation?!? Such a nice switch. But I'm currently in tje camp of thinking I'm too good for the LVM and not good enough for the HVM...but I'm getting better.

The other day I was trail running and came to a place wide enough for 4 people with 3 men walking towards me in the middle. They didn't budge. I kept my feet on the trail, my gaze beyond them and our shoulders made the most satisfying Whack! I didn't even slow down. I am kind and would not have done it if he had looked weak. It's important to choose our battles and safety first.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
