"than two separate homes where the parents are emotionally healthier." Reddit loves this thinking, and ive seen it bleed into mens subs. The problem is...its a false premise. Both parties dont become emotionally healthier after a divorce. One party? Maybe. But theres just zero evidence on a population level divorce leads to both parties being better off.

As an aside. Women will say "oh wow I divorced my husband and he started dating a few months later, clearly he wasnt even that into the marriage". For any new divorcee on here...women will download tinder 17 seconds after telling their husband of 21 years they want a divorce. Dont think otherwise. Dating 6 months after is nothing.

"On the other hand, I’m also very aware she could simply be relying on me for emotional and financial support while she prepares to move on" Yeah no shit. Im not trying to be snarky, but how long she uses you is up to you.
