A negative point for an argument less attack backed up by complete silence ? That's symbolically the whole discussion. Society will make you pay anytime you show diseagreable traits. no matter if you are also intelectually equiped to defend your opinion. You will be shamed, thearthened by the mob to conform, and banish any sign of rebelion, fighthing spirit left in you as a man.

i dont discuss the mental plus side of being in touch with your emotions. just the fact of getting all social and sharing about it. People who you can share it safely with, you already know them. we all have some. isn't it enough ?

Allow me to try a diff approach: We will leave personnal experience and opinions asides, and focus on studies and insights gained from diferents domains, scientifict or psychologic. The first distinction we need to make, is that we are not legally bounded to any of this stuff. we don't risk any legal or physical reprehension for breaking this social construct. So in a way, we are not forced to. We obey it. Whether we like it or not is another question. Secondly, Sexual studies on chimps whic…

i would advise to read about stoicsm, Samurai's code Bushido, Or it s Ronin version the Dokkodo, Buddhist readings.... Freedom from emotions and desires, is real Freedom. I don't envy emotional freedom, because i don't trust myself maturity . We need structure. Be it society, patriarchal, Society, Work, army, martial arts. Men strive when structured. Look at history. would you rather be Baudelaire or Churchill ? your call

Do you know the social phenomena of self fullfiling prophecy ? I know that in absolute tems, what you are pointing out is good : equality of emotional health. Now, if we were to become equally emotionally volatile, would it do any good to society ? even to your Son ? Yes there are extreme case where too much emotional depravation turns rogue, but mostly, i don't think it's so BAD to we are told to man up, or suck it up, because who else is going to do it ? Capable biologically to do it ? Do you …

it has been recently raised and a concerning fact, that accross the global, studies and numbers on Man depression / suicide are almost non existant. I think it best shows how much it's embedded in our global culture, that men are insinsitive warlords, feeding on violence and wars, which is the backbone of modern civilisation and society, but now that we are all safe and hunger deprieved, is good time to start pointing moralistic fingers left and right.
