“Oh okay, so I just won’t talk about my feelings!” is an immature response that I would get from my teenage son when he’s out of control and lashing out. Like a lot of teenagers who are learning emotional intelligence and emotional competence, he will sometimes lash out with stuff like how I’m a massive piece of shit and everything is all my fault. I can tolerate it for a bit, but there comes a point where enough is enough. Tell me how you feel upset that you couldn’t stay out with your girlfrie…

I understand and it’s a bummer because your perspective was the one that drew me the most. Seems like every other guy here is hiding under a log pointing a stick at anything that sounds like “feminist.” Seems like if we all had your perspective and understanding, we’d be more self-aware, more in control, and maybe better equipped to try to make a difference.

Like I said in my other comment, Einstein, I was linked there from here.

I looked at the linked comment and the feminists’s response. Wouldn’t it be more helpful if the “enemy” was misandrists, rather than “feminists”? It’s the misandrist feminists that are the problem.

I went back to your previous comment because I’m really trying hard to untangle all of this. I looked again at the link to deleted stuff. I have to say, I agree there is a difference between venting emotions versus blaming women. I’ve been to a lot of therapy and blaming oneself or others isn’t helpful. Looking for responsibility is helpful. Sharing and validating needs and feelings is helpful. Working toward solutions is helpful. But blaming is toxic. Blaming is abusive, and we know that men ca…

Feminism isn’t a hate group, bud. If you don’t oppress or marginalize women, then feminists don’t hate you. Edit: is that what MensRights means to you? Defending yourself against feminists who hate you?

You have an opportunity to bring me into the fold here, but you’re not doing a very good job of it. The subreddit drama thread was linked by someone on this sub, Einstein. I followed the link over there. I started here, genius. I’m here to genuinely try to learn and you’re just wigging out.

If I told Sally, “You’re using femlogic” then I would be acting like a sexist jerk invalidating her. It would be all on me. Sally didn’t do anything wrong. I would be the jackass. If Dirk is talking down to Sally, then he’s either being condescending like he is to any gender, or he is talking down to her because she is a woman. If it’s the latter and I tell him he’s “mansplaining” then I’m pointing out he’s being condescending in a sexist way and there is nothing wrong with pointing out sexist c…

Maybe stop and consider why it’s escalating? You’re coming off like you really want me to be paranoid of women in my social circles. None of them talk like that. Not one single one of them. None of them even use the phrase “Kill All Men.” I was in a conversation with her and she explained the nuance behind it. It’s controversial and I don’t like it, but it’s not something to be lumped into something as stupid and mindless as “all men are rapists” which I have never heard from any person on earth…

I’m talking about Red Pill, not MGTOW. AWALT was in the sidebar or “about” or some other tutorial type thing when I was there. And it was All Women Are Like That, not AWHTPTBLT All Women Have The Potential To Be Like That. If we’re gonna be scared that every single woman has the possibility of being a monster, then how is that any different than women’s groups who are afraid that any man could be a rapist?

Real question though- If we’re not fighting against women, then who? Who keeps us down with unfair sentencing and lack of resources?

I never said the anger wasn’t valid.
/r/MensRights04/08/21 08:03 PM

That makes sense. So what I’m not understanding is that we have safe spaces for the very valid rage that men go through when they’ve been victimized by the system, but we’re supposed to be angry at women who become feminists and may have some rage because of what the system has done to them?

I responded to someone else about this. People definitely do get condescending based on gender. And if someone is being a jerk, then why should I or anyone have to be delicate about their feelings?

See, but you also have guys like u/Gaston-Glocksicle telling me that Men’s Rights isn’t about men vs women. I feel like this sub isn’t clear on that. Are women the enemy or what?

So I’ve been talking to my coworker and also reading through the stuff over there, and they call scummy dudes “scrotes.” I’m not saying that is okay. It’s objectifying and gross. It’s no different than male incels calling women “rosaries,” so I’m not excusing it. But I’m not going to jump on the mindless hate/fear bandwagon based on misinformation. They’re not looking for love from men they see as abusers, users, and losers. I can understand that. I’m not looking for love from an abusive, user, …

Pointing out when someone is being shitty based on gender assumptions is a reason and it’s valid. If someone is assuming I’m stupid because I’m a man, I’m going to point that out. If someone assumes a woman is stupid because she’s a woman, that should be called out, too. I think the other issue is how some guys try to make themselves feel more appealing to women by trying to seem bigger and stronger and smarter by making the women feel stupid. I’ve watched it happen and it’s embarrassing. I’ll c…

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Doesn’t mean that I’m going to follow the broken clock to maybe accidentally get something valid. I’m looking into MensRights (in part) because I’m looking for a community that has ideology based on rational, mature, sound thought. I don’t believe that RP is based on rational, mature, sound thought. To decide that all women are the same is indicative of a messed up foundation. When I looked into them years ago, AWALT was a part of their foundation, not j…

That escalated quickly. I said in my comment that I think that “kill all men” and “all cops are bad” are problematic phrases. I also did not say that my feminist coworker friend had a black-and-white view that these phrases are “fine.” I said nothing about “all men are rapists” and that feels like a straw man that was tossed in there out of high emotion or something. It doesn’t help me.

I am familiar with the Matrix and the metaphor of the blue pill and red pill. feminists just want us for money This is not accurate wifes will never be loyal That’s claiming that all women are the same

I’m curious how men’s rights could not be men versus women. Feminism is. Well, it’s women against men who are oppressive of them. Men’s rights is a fight against women who attempt to be oppressive of men, is it not? How could it be anything else?

I’m trying to get a feel (for myself) for what these subs are all about. My impression of Red Pill (years ago) based on my limited observation was that it was toxic because it seemed like the focus was to control women. I don’t know anything about MGTOW except that I thought it was men who had been hurt so badly by women that they decided to opt out of dating. If you went on MGTOW because of toxic women, I wouldn’t assume there is something wrong with you. I would guess that you were deeply hurt…

Here’s how I see it. My coworker is a good looking woman. She gets hit on by a lot of guys. I see dudes show up in the clinic and suddenly lose 10 IQ points around her because they are so horny for her and it drives her nuts. I’m not interested because she’s a lot younger than me and it would feel like dating my daughter so I’m not into that at all. But it’s embarrassing to watch some of these guys, especially when they are patients or family of patients focusing on dating her which is totally i…

I’m curious if you believe that the majority of women are level-headed also. I ask this because of some other guy’s response to me about Red Pill, which was never my bag. They have this whole AWALT thing “All Women Are Like That” and here we are over here telling women that “not all men…” I just think the hypocrisy makes us look stupid so no wonder we have a hard time being taken seriously. Makes me mad.

It’s been several years since I looked at RP so maybe things have changed, but I don’t remember anyone helping men over their anger of women. I just remember advice about spinning plates and “maintaining frame.” It doesn’t help that we’re over here trying to justify that not all men are the scary, violent rapists that some women are afraid we are, but RP will literally tell me AWALT… “all women.” It works directly against us and makes us all look like jackasses.

I take issue with your last paragraph. There is nothing “wrong” with my coworker. You don’t even know her. I looked and there is a post up there now of some woman with a wedding ring and I am seeing comments from women in relationships. I’m willing to listen to what you have to say, but you lost me when you bashed my coworker. She wrote her master’s thesis on the emotional needs of men and is the type of feminist who argues with other feminists. She also told me that there are good things about …

I cruised over to their front page and saw a video about a “LVM” saying it’s okay to coerce women into sex. It made me cringe. My coworker told me that FDS warns her about creepy dudes, not dudes that have average salaries. But either way, she’s just one person. If that sub is just a bunch of women who want Brad Pitt and Bill Gates, who cares? I’m no Brad Gates and IDGAF. If they want to chase that, who cares? I know my worth. If a woman thinks I’m low value because I’m not Bill Pitt, then she i…

Okay, I hear you on that. But it doesn’t make sense to me that they would be hating on all men. It makes more sense to me that they’re warning women about baddies because they’re a dating strategy group. If they hated all men, then wouldn’t they just be a WGTOW?

Hmm. That makes sense. Thank you for clarifying. I thought mansplaining was when a man was condescending specifically because he was talking to a woman and assumed she didn’t know something, or because he wanted to seem smarter than her. Maybe there should be “femsplaining” for when women are condescending to a man just because she thinks he’s a dumb dude.

Here’s the struggle I’m having… My coworkers were talking about Reddit and I came here looking for it to understand more about it for myself. I was trying to find MGTOW and discovered it got banned. That led me here, but coworkers had explained this and other men’s subs, too. They also explained a little bit about FDS, (okay, one of them did) and my understanding is that FDS exists to warn women about a particular kind of man when dating. So it sounds like you’re asking me to do exactly what the…

Thanks. That makes sense. I know a couple guys who bring up men’s issues as a comeback when women talk about women’s issues. But these are the same dudes that will talk about white problems if a non white guy talks about his struggles. Edit: makes it harder on us to be taken seriously

You’re not getting what I’m asking. What is this sub accused of being “wrong” for that a bunch of subs would go to all that trouble? I have a hard time trusting a man who says, “I don’t know why people say I’m sus.” That makes him more sus to me like he’s trying to hide something.
/r/MensRights04/08/21 04:22 AM

Lol, man, I’m asking sincere questions here. Is your premise that all feminists (including the ones who aren’t extremists) are miserable and lurk around on men’s subs so they can feel more miserable? Isn’t that an ironic thing to say if dudes here are lurking on women’s subs being upset about the miserable women? This stuff has me spinning in circles. This sub isn’t all about being afraid of angry feminists, right? I was told that this was something different than that.

I guess I don’t understand why I would need to spend time on a women’s sub to know when a woman hates men.

There is a difference between racism and racial prejudice. Most people don’t realize that “racial prejudice” is a phrase, though. You can save yourself from being smacked down by referring to racial prejudice against white people rather than calling it racism against white people.

Okay, but then what? Warn our children? I know that may sound snarky, but I’m genuinely asking. I’m trying to get a feel for what this is all about. Am I supposed to be afraid now of something that wasn’t affecting me before now?

Do you follow feminist platforms or moderate feminist speakers? I’m asking sincerely because I’m curious about all of this. A female coworker has explained to me about “Kill All Men” which I understand is supposed to be “deeper” and “more philosophical” than what it sounds like, sort of like “all cops are bad” doesn’t mean what it sounds like, but it’s about as clear as mud and highly problematic, and most people are going to take it literally (and even gleefully) so how is it helpful? I looked at Red Pill years ago and I never noticed “rage.” Maybe I wasn’t looking hard enough. To me, it just looked like a place for guys to try to figure out how to crack the code of getting laid a lot. I was under the impression that incels were more about rage.

My line of work is heavily dominated by women, so I do work with feminists. I never saw MGTOW2, unfortunately. I’m curious, though, aren’t you painting feminists with the same broad stokes in the same way you are saying MGTOW2 was? I’m just curious why there isn’t a distinction between feminist extremists and regular feminists, since you noticed that there were trolls on MGTOW, as well.
