Start the conversationI won’t say it’s rarely happens. But the issue isn’t who gets raped more, it’s about why are we ignoring both situations or trying to diminish each other’s pain? We need to talk about SA and abuse women face, but we need to be able to address that with men as well and not just to combat or belittle the abuse women face, which unfortunately is where I often only ever hear the conversation brought up. | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 08:31 PM
Start the conversationI’m glad you mentioned this! So then both of us might just be attributing to a movement of liberalism rather then just keeping two separate movements. That’s if you believe there is a possibility to mend the division we currently face | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 08:27 PM
Start the conversationI’m sorry you’ve felt ignored & misunderstood. I understand not wanting to share an example from life but it does sound like you’ve managed to find some sort of peace. I wish you far greater blessings then that of course | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 08:24 PM
Start the conversationThank you for sharing your experience. These are huge issues for minors living in the USA, I’m so sorry you had to go through this. Dress code has always been targeted towards girls rather then boys in school, it’s a systemic issues that gets into some disturbing territory but I’m sure your already quite of aware of why | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 08:20 PM
Start the conversationNo, I'm not. I think both genders are facing quite a few issues, but I just don't feel like arguing with someone whose seeing a fight rather then a discussion | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 05:58 PM
Start the conversationI guess if no one is answering you the way you want you will need to search for yourself. til then, feel free to state your grievances | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 05:52 PM
Start the conversationI mean if that is what you feel, that's what you feel but I'm not here with any sort of faith, just wondering if we could potentially talk about issues you face without discrediting the other movement. | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 04:41 PM
Start the conversationI’m sorry to hear of your struggles, but if I’m being honest with you I came up with this small thought for clarity on issues I’ve personally experienced myself… unfortunately my abuse stories are gender bias. If I’m being personal, I’m looking for a reason to not hate either gender. But on a different level I want to recognize the struggles of others rather then just my own | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 09:38 AM
Start the conversationI mean rather then “easier” I was more so concerned with the actual issues men face… not whether one has it easier then the other | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 01:36 AM
Start the conversationPersonally I feel the draft should be disbanded completely. And in terms of reproductive rights, do you mean in terms of having a say in abortion? Or actually being able to choose whether they can be sterilized or not? | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 01:34 AM
Start the conversationI agree. That all starts with an olive branch to the other movement, we need to be able to acknowledge the struggles of both sides rather then dismiss or get angry towards one another. Growing bitterness will continue to divide, you’d be surprised at how much both sides agree on | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 01:30 AM
Start the conversationHuge issue that’s very rarely talked about unless it’s as a joke or trying to minimize another victims experience. Men are often silent victims of SA and if this is something you’ve experienced, I’m deeply sorry. SA is a personalized issue of mine | /r/MensRights | 11/04/22 01:26 AM
Start the conversationThese are issues I’ve heard of but have yet to hear someone personally speak on. Thank you for sharing your experience, because these are the systemic issues we don’t talk about enough. | /r/MensRights | 10/04/22 11:09 PM
Start the conversationSo then that would mean both men and women have to be accountable for the abuse for parents? Thats where the majority of these issues begin, it is not necessarily with dating... Sometimes it is how your father treated you, how your mother treated you, or how a friend treated you. Abuse is not always in romantic relationships | /r/MensRights | 10/04/22 09:01 PM
Start the conversationI hear your struggles but I don’t think women getting abused is something that is there fault simply because they choose the top 20% of men as you claim. The problem is continuing to victim blame on both sides… men will date beautiful women and be abused to, and it not be their fault. Also you are right, men’s emotional needs are getting. Ignored. That is a problem that has to be addressed in order to help both sides And I know you talk. But both sides need to be able to talk… which is quite a f… | /r/MensRights | 10/04/22 08:28 PM
Start the conversationI think in an emotional sense yes, whether this is their own fears or a reality for them I cannot clearly understand it. | /r/MensRights | 10/04/22 07:59 PM
Start the conversationyes, this is true, there are better ways to talk than by doing this. I will admit though, I prefer to have these conversations in person and have a tendency to be completely anonymous online. This was my first time ever doing something this bold online, I prefer to even remain genderless if I am honest lol. | /r/MensRights | 10/04/22 07:59 PM
Start the conversationI suppose thats a generalized statement, but it comes from conversations I have had (which doesn't account for the majority experience). I know so many women who've had painful experiences that are associated with how men have treated them or how they are currently being treated, we can't ignore that. I hear from men an expression of fear of intimacy or fear of discussing their struggles because they have been shut down in the past. I also see subreddits like this where people come and talk abou… | /r/MensRights | 10/04/22 07:44 PM
Start the conversationYou begin to see patterns when you allow people to talk. You've already told me something valuable by saying you've become anti-social, which is a consistent thing I've seen characterized in modern men: they have checked out. now the question is why | /r/MensRights | 10/04/22 07:38 PM
Why do people get so upset by the word "female"?It depends on the context of how you use it… if you say “females and men” then it’s sort of a red flag. But if you say females and males, then it’s not really a dehumanization. If you’ve been vindicated for the usage of “female” then it could be the personal experience of that particular woman. My mindset in handling these situations is to apologize rather then defend myself, you may not have meant it in that way but certainly it will alleviate discourse | /r/MensRights | 10/04/22 05:41 PM
