SRS itself is a shell of its forget glory, but the SJW mentality is very much alive and well in many parts of reddit, including within the admins.

Have you ever heard the phrase "turn about is fair play"?

Sure, I don't want to have sex with a robot. But if someone else does, there is no reason whatsoever anyone else should prohibit that, which is the whole point of this post that you seemed to have missed.

That may be the case in your relationship, but women who are actually pregnant miscarry all the time and it can definitely be quite an emotional experience. Telling someone to "run" in that scenario is quite cynical. If the trust is that low in your relationship you should've probably already moved on.

I feel the more something like this is posted the more likely it is to actually happen. Kind of in the same vein as "art imitates life imitates art".

I think that was the point. The author was saying those words were voted to go away, yet didn't and neither will the word feminism.

From the guys that hit him's perspective, he was just some guy chasing a woman down the street. They didn't have context. The yellow shirt guy appears to be the aggressor. Of course they're going to come to her defense

Think of the word feminist in the same vein as the word racist and it makes more sense.

Someone shouldn't be downvoted for simply explaining the logic of the counter-argument. Voodooblues isn't even claiming that that is their opinion, which you should also not downvote if it is contributing to the conversation. A conversation needs counter points or otherwise this would just be an echo chamber. If you disagree with the logic behind the argument, counter it.

Any teacher that just drills dates and and facts is simply bad at their job. A good understanding of why certain events happened and what impact they had is incredibly useful as to understanding the way the world works today. I have had great history teachers who did just that. The dates are just for context. The problem is there isn't a good way to test whether someone was paying attention to the lesson or not, so teachers end up pushing memorization of just the facts.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
