2	Infographic on how boys do in education [x-post from r/teachers] Any teacher that just drills dates and and facts is simply bad at their job. A good understanding of why certain events happened and what impact they had is incredibly useful as to understanding the way the world works today. I have had great history teachers who did just that. The dates are just for context. The problem is there isn't a good way to test whether someone was paying attention to the lesson or not, so teachers end up pushing memorization of just the facts.	/r/MensRights	09/10/13 12:37 AM
