Alr fair. I would imagine it could be deeper than just the fact they are a woman (i.e. suppose most feminist theory is correct, the woman would face struggles like lower pay etc that contribute to a more rough upbringing). I guess it’s up to you whether you believe in those theories, but at least lower pay is factually true (whether you believe it’s their fault or not). Bringing up a child is a v complex thing and it makes sense that it would be more complex than simply us it a woman or not. I g…

Yeah you’re right I did seem to have a bit of an agenda in this comment. Still tho don’t think I was exactly incorrect, especially given what people above me were saying. People talking about men being the most likely to be killed by all murder causes and then basically trying to argue that into a men have it worse in dv kind of deal. Two separate, mostly unrelated problems. But if we ignore all that, yes there needs to be more support for the far-from-insignificant (in fact very significant) am…

I disagree. If he just up and leaves someone having a mental health crisis, it’s only going to get worse for them. It sounds like he genuinely does love her, and it would be a shame for all their history to be ended like this. He should absolutely take precautionary measures, and contacting an attorney was definitely a good idea, but he should also try to get her help, for both his and her sakes.

They are pretty much equivalent, but it’s up for debate whether he’s right or not because there are (arguably) societal pressures making men and women choose roles like that—the societal pressures that men face are right there in the post, and women face something similar.

So your game plan to get people caring about men’s issues is to vote directly for men’s issues and get the main influencers for men’s issues back in power for another 4 years? I know I’m sort of ignoring what you’re saying here, but does it not seem like a bit of a backwards way to solve the problem? One party should solve the problem, and the other party will not solve the problem. I feel like it’s fairly obvious which one to go for. Just get petitions and shit going when the democrats are in p…

How are you blaming this on democrats as if republicans are better? I guarantee you republicans are the majority of the people circumcising their children. For the record, I agree that the democrats are bad, but surely they are the lesser of the two evils?

You’re doing this wrong. You’re not supposed to get equality by bringing down the other side to your level, you’re supposed to bring yourselves up. All you’re doing is removing other people’s rights, and whilst it might be unfair as it is, you’re making the world a worse place overall. Also what makes you think republicans care more about men? They’re the first ones to block gender neutral drafting aren’t they?

As bad as it is, women don’t need any sex drive for the population to continue. There would have been rape conceived children historically, so I don’t see why women would have the higher sex drive naturally.

Men have a higher sex drive than women so I’m not sure how highly this holds up in reality

Mate if you took one second to look at yourself before you commented shit like this, you’d realise how little empathy you seem to have. It plain and simple isn’t fair that women have to go through pregnancy and menstruation, and be weaker than men. Of course nobody but nature is deciding that, though you’d still give a wheelchair to a paralysed person would you not? It’s also natural for men to be the ones fighting to protect the population, and yet it is absolutely not fair to send only men off…

Lame take my man. What is it that men have been fighting for in this sub for the longest time? Oh, that’s right, the right to paper abortion. And now it isn’t a right when women want an actual abortion? And how would you feel if you were forced to pay for menstrual products every month, nevermind actually having to have a period every month. You’d find it harder to pay for rent and shit, in a world where the cost of living is already a crisis. How is that fair?
/r/MensRights06/07/22 12:06 PM

I was going to recommend that sub to you as well honestly. And I didn’t realise there were that many pro lifers here my bad.

Didn’t like this part of that first article ngl: There is the cabal of angry white men who might follow rightwing groups who are carrying out this kind of misogynistic abuse and there is a cultural and societal issue of women and girls using this language. As if women are being conditioned to be misogynistic, and it’s not their fault if they are, and yet when men are being misogynistic, it is their fault, and it can’t possibly be that they’ve been conditioned by the same society that the women a…

Who else is gonna be more responsible for misogynistic behaviour? Women?? If you asked who is more responsible for misandry, the answer would obviously be women, so why are they using that dumb statistic (63% is hardly notable as well!) to justify this?

Only 4 of those were really relevant, but I do get your point. I will say however that ~45% of Americans are pro life, so no matter what group of people you find, you will get some in that group that believe that stuff. Saying pro life is the majority opinion here is a bit of a stretch though, considering all those comments have like 30 upvotes under a pro choice post with 1600 upvotes. And for the record, there isn’t a negligible amount of women who are pro life, seeing as you want to single ou…

It is a clump of cells. If you grazed your leg, would you call the non sentient group of human skin cells that are now on the pavement a life? What makes killing humans any different to killing animals? I don’t eat meat, but if you’re happy to kill animals for a burger, based solely on the idea that they aren’t intelligent enough, then why is a group of not even sentient human cells any different?

Yeah not as comfortable, and you don’t get as much pleasure. In FGM they sometimes remove the clitoris, which doesn’t affect anything and it’s still possible to get pleasure, but ask any woman and they’ll tell you that they’d rather not have their clit removed when they’re a baby.
/r/MensRights05/07/22 11:16 PM

Nope. Porn addiction is unhealthy, but wanting sex to be comfortable is not.

I’ve just gone through the top like 20 comments (as much as I can be bothered with) and didn’t see anyone celebrating? Could you maybe link one of the comments where someone is? If there is anyone appearing to ‘celebrate’ I guarantee it will be not them celebrating women losing rights, but rather celebrating the fact their rights might actually be considered now.

Dawg if humans didn’t have a sex drive then there wouldn’t be any humans. You’re the exception if you’re asexual lol
/r/MensRights05/07/22 09:40 PM

Nobody is celebrating, nor are they saying that the two are remotely as bad as each other, they are just pointing out that ‘my body my choice’ should go both ways. I guarantee you everyone here talking about forced circumcision is pro choice regarding abortion. They just want an inkling of pro choice to be for men as well.

Even if we go with that (which we shouldn’t since the article was written gender neutrally, so most likely did weighted averages instead of just averages), we then fall back on what I said the previous paragraph. Since when does the child potentially being more mature and having better bonds with their single parent translate to ‘men are nicer when raised by single mothers’? You could take a group of criminals and by pure probability there would be a nice person in that group, even though the ma…
/r/MensRights04/07/22 10:28 AM

‘Can be more mature’ and ‘can have better bonds’ are totally different to ‘men are nicer when raised by single mothers’ I’m afraid. The article doesn’t specify single mothers vs single fathers anywhere either. It says those two traits that the child (of any gender) could have are from single parenting, not specifically single mother parenting.
/r/MensRights04/07/22 09:53 AM
6

Yeah that article is roughly what I’m saying I think. Do you have anything for men raised by single mothers being nicer people?
/r/MensRights04/07/22 09:46 AM
9

‘But men raised by single mothers are typically nicer people’ How are you going to call people out for possibly lying and then just pull that out of nowhere? For the record I do agree with you a little. It’s easy for these guys to say single mothers have children that grow up with problems more often, but that’s because they’re comparing them to 2 parent households, which are obviously guaranteed (on average) to give the child a more stable and healthier childhood, than one that involves maybe a…

You could flip that entire thing on its head and you’d sound like a misogynistic twat: ‘Feminists come across as selfish pricks who want society to let them fuck with no consequences.’ Do you not see the parallels as well as the differences here? Women should absolutely have the right to bring a pregnancy to term or not, but a man should have the right to not care for a child (that was mutually conceived mind you) for 18+ years. You know people choose to be a nurse? And 70% of health workers being women is not that insane. And for the record, even with as much feminism as there is today, the number of women choosing to go into healthcare is increasing. If they wanted to start working in the sewers to try to lower the 95% male workforce, then why don’t they do that? Is it because being a nurse is better do you think? If you want to say that women face a lot of sexism in healthcare professions, by all means do, but I don’…

Yeah alright they’re a bit bad to not support it, but they’re not opposing it, they just don’t think it’s fair that reproductive rights lie solely with the woman even when she can choose when and when not to get an abortion. And I’d rather do a nursing job than be next in line for a bullet it my head personally. And apparently it’s not so niche after all considering it’s what’s happening right now in a supposed 1st world country. There are definitely benefits to being a man, but so are there for…

It’s not all men I know, but for every man outside those categories, which is a fair few, they are forced to stay in the country if they are aged 18-65. And women with 2 children or less will not be turned away at the border, even though a man would be, and even if they are a better candidate than a 65 year old man. Bro if you did that shit for everything the world would crash and fucking burn. If everyone treated everything like they’re an individual so whatever they do has little effect one the world, all the effects of every single individual thinking that way would stack up, and would affect the world greatly. Seeing as you are convinced Ukraine would only need to restore 0.1% more of their population, why the fuck do you need to protect all women? You’d need a very small percentage of women to have one…

I’m just confused man. I have been not and will not be glad of dead Ukrainian children and I have no idea where you got that. I am NOT saying we should be glad people died, im saying we shouldn’t take a bad situation and make it worse by repopulating an already overpopulated world—you can’t bring back the people who died man. How on earth have you twisted my words so much? I’m not saying I want everyone to die ffs, I’m saying why does repopulation mean only men have to die, considering we don’t fucking need repopulation. When I said it would be better for the world if the population decreased, I didn’t mean kill more people, I meant that we don’t need to have children upon children introduced into a world that doesn’t need any more people, so why do we need to protect only women? I’d honestly accept your other argume…

Why the fuck do we need women to breed like rabbits if the population falls? We don’t live in the stone ages where if your tribe numbers dwindle that’s it. In fact, it’s literally better for the world if the population decreases.
/r/MensRights24/06/22 10:19 PM

Dawg you’re making up an argument that people didn’t say. Most if not all of us are pro women’s choice, we just want some explanation as to why fighting for men’s right to bodily autonomy is a ‘petty argument’, and it’s ‘archaic’ when women face a bodily autonomy issue. Also, if women are hopeless and we need to send men, why the fuck do men not get benefits in society if they have to have their lives thrown away when it calls for it?
/r/MensRights24/06/22 10:13 PM
11

If we need men in times of war, why do men not get benefits for signing up for selective service? How is there no compensation for having your life thrown away once the country needs it?
/r/MensRights24/06/22 10:09 PM

Yeah people will say the other 90% aren’t false, but in reality, there isn’t enough evidence either way for a lot of them, and by pure probability, a significant proportion of the remaining accusations will also be false.

You trying to say that once something has been said by someone, it can never be repeated? What about the people who never heard it the first time? And why is reiterating a point that nothing is getting done about a bad thing?

Well said! The majority of us aren’t here to say ‘men have it worse’ or ‘women have no problems’, just that men have problems too, which seems to be controversial enough nowadays lol
/r/MensRights21/06/22 05:03 PM

I think there is something in being treated more seriously, but there’s also something in what all the people you quoted above said. I think people just need to realise that men have problems as well as women. The majority of us aren’t here to prove that men have it the worst or women have no problems etc etc, just that men face problems too.

That is a feminist article and it says ‘women power’ when only 36% of the Uni students are men. If you don’t agree with that article, will you at least agree that there are bad parts of feminism and that the people here aren’t totally making it up when they claim bad things about it? Edit: mind you that is not a cherry picked article, it’s the first one I found in a 10 second google search so I’m sure there are more examples.

Assuming? Women making up 64% of university students: https://www.studyinternational.com/news/record-high-numbers-women-outnumbering-men-university-globally/ Women power I imagine you would be screaming bloody murder if women only made up 36% of students at university, but you think it’s ‘women power’ when men only make up 36% of students at university.

Dawg feminism is the same thing that is beyond happy to see men getting into college less and less, and it’s the same thing that will cry oppression when the genders are not at least 50/50 in their workplace, whilst not giving two shits that men make up 95% of sewage workers. I’m all for the idea of feminism (i.e. equality of the sexes), but not the execution.

We’d have to compare kids with mothers vs kids without mothers as well to be fair. You can’t lay the blame on fatherlessness, when it’s probably more likely due to the fact they only have one parent. I bet single dads don’t do as well as two parent households either.
/r/MensRights17/06/22 11:01 AM

There probably are, but my guess would be that’s because women typically look after the child in single parent households, and single parent households are always going to produce more problems for the children, regardless of the gender of the single parent.

I don’t know why it is such an alien thing for you to think that men could be disadvantaged in some areas of life. I think men have benefits in a lot of job related areas etc. (but even then, >95% of sewage workers and bin collectors are men), and women have benefits in a lot of social areas. Why is it so hard for y’all to understand that men aren’t privileged in every single possible way?

I think nobody should be allowed an opinion until they’ve seen the entire trial (that includes me lol). I do think it’s a bit odd that the jury found Depp’s lawyer liable for deformation when all he said was that Heard’s claim was a ‘hoax’. If Amber was deforming (I don’t know if that’s the correct word) Johnny by saying that she was abused, why did the Jury also decide that Johnny was deforming Amber by saying that she wasn’t abused?

It’s like drunk sex. If they are both drunk having consensual sex, it’s the man’s fault for taking advantage of a drunk woman who couldn’t reasonably consent (even if he couldn’t either). The woman couldn’t possibly have taken advantage of a man in the same exact way.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates02/06/22 10:30 AM

Yeah well that stat seems weirdly high. 26 out of 28 is fairly extreme if there’s nothing there. I mean it could always boil down to the fact that single parent children will have more hardships, no matter what gender the parent is, and divorces tend to lead to women getting the child… But then we’re back at another problem :/

Yeah you wouldn’t catch this guy having sex with a really ugly woman, despite how he would go off on women for doing the same. (Women do have higher standards though)

They say ‘it’s about consent’ and then seem disgusted by a simple ‘do you want to go eat out somewhere later?’ if you aren’t the type of guy their after. All this about not wanting to be sexualised, but then actually wanting to be sexualised when it’s certain people that they like, and you just have to guess which side you’re on.

I really like that point you’ve got about a drunk guy vs a drunk girl. A guy that’s blackout drunk like you say is totally in control of his actions, and yet a woman who is blackout drunk has no control over her actions and is being taken advantage of. Lame double standard once again.

Naw I ain’t saying that most guys want to get pregnant, I’m saying the replies are toxic as hell. I’d understand being against it for reasons like yours, where you wouldn’t want to put someone at risk with an unlikely to work experimental surgery, but those comments are just going off on trans people as a whole. All the classic ‘mental illness’ shit, and a load of throwing up emojis and the likes… Edit: about 6 comments down all decency goes down the drain

I truly believe there are areas of life where women are mostly and adversely affected, but I’m convinced that nearly all social areas are better for women. I’ve got some pretty crippling social anxiety and struggle in almost any conversation, and making friends is really tough for me. I’ve also never had a girlfriend. I’m not saying I particularly deserve friends or a girlfriend by default, but being a socially awkward girl looks soooo much easier for those things than being a socially awkward g…

It’s a mixture of agenda and to show the horrors of war I guess. I appreciate that you and others may not want to see it, but honestly, should it really be considered an agenda any more than those two when it’s being sent to a warzone based on what’s between your legs? Is that not objectively bad? It could honestly be argued that any war journalism is based on an agenda. Each side of the war believes they are doing something right (not every time yeah), but even the Nazis probably thought they w…

I wasn’t meaning to ‘keep it going’, I just wanted to let you know I wasn’t putting words into your mouth for the sake of it, that’s just what it sounded like to me. I think also though, the context isn’t purely about roe v Wade. I assumed (maybe incorrectly) that by nature of this post being here at all, it was a reference to the fact that all those things are what happen to men in drafts, and with the selective service still up, and a war going on at the moment, it seems like men in the US and…

Honestly I’m convinced it’s the other way around…
/r/MensRights06/05/22 10:25 PM
7

Yeah it’s pretty obvious you didn’t explicitly say those words, but that’s the image I’m getting from you. You seem to care too much about it being an America only issue, when there’s literally no reason at all to limit this discussion to America only. As I said before, you should be allowed to advocate for human rights, EVEN IF they’re not in your country (like the feminists in the U.K. advocating for human rights with the abortion situation in America). Why does men’s right to bodily autonomy …
/r/MensRights06/05/22 10:16 PM
12

Why do you think human rights issues occur only in America? I live in England and every feminist I know is posting about Roe V Wade, despite it not being in their country (fair enough of course), and yet none of them post about men being held back in a warzone in Ukraine. So clearly the feminists are not too bothered when the draft comes to be.
/r/MensRights06/05/22 10:09 PM
2

Alright I will do
/r/MensRights06/05/22 10:04 PM
5

… If you scroll back up you’ll notice that the comparison was only ever made when someone straight up just said that the draft wasn’t a problem. And who was belittling women? I know how hard it is to listen to the other side every now and then, but I don’t think anyone here is being hateful towards women or women’s issues, and if they are, it’s probably because someone invalidated their own issues. At least I tried to give you some reasonable points…
/r/MensRights06/05/22 10:01 PM
7

It is an issue right now? Am I not allowed to advocate for human rights if they aren’t in my country? I’m not saying one should be argued without the other (They’re both shitty things!), I’m saying that you can’t say ‘the draft hasn’t been used in 50 years’ when it has been in Ukraine. I don’t live in the US, but you would still want me to advocate for abortion rights would you not? You don’t sound terribly impartial to us advocating for our human rights as men when you say ‘shhh don’t question …
/r/MensRights06/05/22 09:56 PM
3

Draft doesn’t happen until it’s needed, abortion doesn’t happen until it’s needed. (For the record I’d rather give birth against my will knowing the risks that come with sex than have to kill people against my will (or be killed) if the time came). At least abstinence is a choice.

Push their agenda? Would you say it’s better or worse that the world saw the crying napalm girl? Would you say the world is better or worse after seeing the vulture waiting for a child to die? People definitely started caring after seeing those awful photos. Some things are hard to look at, but absolutely necessary to see for the benefit of human rights.
/r/MensRights06/05/22 07:13 PM
1

Nope. A lot of these deaths are men who were forced to stay. It wasn’t a choice. The comparison only highlights how women are worrying about their next boyfriend, and men are worrying about whether they’ll be alive tomorrow.

Both women getting killed, raped and sex trafficked, and men getting blown up are uncontrollable parts of a horrible war. Being able to leave the country and escape these horrible things is absolutely controllable, and only one set of people get to that (based on what they were born with between their legs by the way).
/r/MensRights06/05/22 04:08 PM

Not slut shaming, just showing how women get to start new lives away from the conflict, and men are sent into the warzone.
/r/MensRights06/05/22 04:00 PM
12

The silence is absolutely deafening. The amount of people I see going apeshit over Roe vs Wade (fair enough it’s a shitty situation), compared with the reaction to sending you to your death because of what’s between your legs… How is the right to abortion talked about so much more than the right to not be sent to a warzone because of what’s between your legs?
/r/MensRights06/05/22 03:57 PM
20

I really hate that argument of evolutionary repopulating, as if anyone really gives a shit whether your country is made up of 40 million or 30 million. It doesn’t set the best precedent for feminism when the argument for women staying out of the fight is becoming baby-making machines having 10 children for every 1 of them. They’re acting like we still live in cave man times and the fate of everyone depends on how many people are in your tribe. Pile of shit imo.

Board games are probably far and away male dominated just by interest. When you increase the sample size as greatly as you do with that, you’re bound to get more outliers (i.e. insanely good chess players), so there’s nothing stopping men and women being in the same tournaments (and I’m pretty sure they generally are anyway) other than that in chess competitions, the best men have been filtered to the top, and the best men are typically better than the best women due to there being way more of t…

I think it’s easy to think of abortion as an easy way out, but when there are so many people waiting to rip you to shreds about getting an abortion and it being ‘child murder’ and whatnot, I’m sure it’s harder than you think. Never mind the fact that an abortion is not going to be a comfortable experience.
/r/MensRights04/05/22 02:09 PM

There are way too many accidental pregnancies (where both the man and woman don’t want a baby, and both the man and the woman are mutually taking the risk of going without protection) for women to take the full force of it.
/r/MensRights04/05/22 12:24 PM

Just commented this myself lol. If the father isn’t around, the woman is 100% doing way more work for the child, for that same 23% on top of the 1% of pregnancy and childbirth.
/r/MensRights04/05/22 12:19 PM
5

I’m not a huge fan of your stats. You say that pregnancy and childbirth is 1% of a woman’s life, and then count the years of child support as 23% of a man’s life? You seem to have completely ignored the fact that the woman takes way more care of the child for the same 23% ON TOP OF pregnancy and childbirth (assuming the father is elsewhere paying child support).

Yeah this is the way. Men doing reproductive manipulation is no different to women doing it, and the guys on this sub really hate women doing it (fair enough). It’s unfair, but equality how they want it would mean that instead of just one gender taking advantage of the system, there would be cases on both sides where they say they’ll look after the baby if it’s born when they won’t, or they are on the pill when they’re not. It should be done case by case like you say.

How does ‘the patriarchy’ have anything to do with men getting surgical height increases? I thought the patriarchy was supposed to help men—in what way does the patriarchy help men in this situation? For the record I agree with what you’re saying about boob jobs, but again, it doesn’t seem like it has anything to do with the patriarchy. The majority of XY born people are straight men, and the majority of XX born people are straight women, and the problems faced by both of these groups are largely different to those faced by non-straight people. I’m sure most non-straight people will understand if the words ‘men’ and ‘women’ are used to refer to XY straight men and XX straight women, purely out of convenience (i.e. not having to write a load of paragraphs like you have every time you want to refer to those groups).

Nothing wrong with male father figures, but there is however something wrong with male father figures that choose your life for you. Be a good male role model if you want (it could be a good thing!), but don’t tell your kid they’re living their life wrong because they didn’t want to follow you.

I don’t think the father should decide on whether or not the woman has a kid. It’s 9 months of being pretty uncomfortable to just being sick, and then the agony of giving birth, and then getting stretch marks, wide hips, and other irreversible body changes. Not something you should be put through against your will. Even opting out of child support as an option for men would be a bit problematic. ‘I don’t believe they did’. You can’t just believe what you want when you have no evidence to show otherwise. As with all conspiracies, there is a certain amount of impossibility with getting a conspiracy this large. What reason do we have for supporting Ukraine over Russia anyway? All we know is that all of Putin’s opposition is behind bars for embezzlement. Do you really trust that man over the whole western world? We’re not perfect, but they’re even further from it.

/r/MensRights10/04/22 04:26 PM

Yeah it’s tough. Trans people have a very hard time transitioning after adulthood and all the effects of puberty, but you’re right that minors aren’t going to make the best informed decisions. I think they need to do studies on the minors that want to transition, and whether they, upon adulthood, would still agree with their previous decision (without actually transitioning them of course). If it’s over 90-95% the same, it could be argued that on average you’d be improving their quality of life …

You can vote someone in based on what they say, but once they’re in power there’s not much you can do to stop them doing whatever they want to do. Plus with enough pressure from somewhere, you can make someone do anything—in the same way enacting new laws work. Maybe there were a lot of feminists pushing this on parliament, and they decided to add a law because of ‘large’ public interest.
/r/MensRights08/04/22 02:17 PM

I would guess it was put in place because women weren’t making up as many members of parliament, and the gender neutral term ends up meaning little when the majority are usually men anyway. But you make some good points, and I agree, whether it was truly beneficial for both genders or not, you shouldn’t get elected based on your gender.

Alright I get your point I think you’re probably right. But for that last part, the only people I’ve seen identifying with MGTOW seem to have nothing against women and are often friends with them in a general sense, just no further. But I haven’t exactly gone looking for the toxic ones to be fair.
/r/MensRights15/03/22 08:53 PM
3

Well if we’re saying it’s equal chances of identifying with m/wgtow as a man or a woman who’s quit dating, then that would show way more men. And plus it’s clearly not desirable to be identifying with mgtow, as the post clearly shows, so I’ll bet there’s a load more men doing what you said the women might be doing. And no, that’s not the only proof, but if people have given up on dating it’s fair to assume they’ve probably had a worse time than people who keep dating.
/r/MensRights15/03/22 06:28 PM

I agree. Why we still think of gender roles in a time where the world really doesn’t need any more people in it is beyond me. It’s not the end of the world if the population of Ukraine decreases, and in today’s world there isn’t going to be one man impregnating 10 different women anyway. He’ll just get married to the one he loves and then everyone’s stuck where they were to start with…
/r/MensRights15/03/22 06:25 PM

Well there’s gotta be a reason it’s a wayyy more established thing right? There hasn’t been anybody stopping women doing the same, and yet there are only 28k results for wgtow. It certainly looks like there’s a large proportion of men who have given up on dating, and you don’t give up on dating unless you have negative experiences with it, hence my other comment.

Except what does teaching boys about misogyny do to help anything? It clearly stands to benefit more people if they are taught not to bully in general. If you’re going to make a new plan to reduce bullying and violence, why would you choose to introduce a plan that only benefits half the population?? As for my first point, I thought you were mentioning a region where girls are bullied specifically, seeing as you have yet to provide one that is specific to girls, which is the whole reason to teac…
/r/MensRights14/03/22 11:38 PM

? You just said that my examples of female on male bullying didn’t count(?) because they were too old, and now you’re saying that your examples of male on female bullying are still relevant even when they aren’t 4 years old either. And again, you’re making this a gendered issue when it’s not. Getting hair pulled or getting tripped over are hardly any different to what boys would experience. You keep saying you agree all bullying is bad (which it is), but then keep bringing up girl specific bully…
/r/MensRights14/03/22 11:22 PM
1

Ah yeah alright. I don’t think it particularly matters whether it’s gender specific bullying or just bullying in general though, because it doesn’t hurt any less when they call a little boy fat, as opposed to targeting his gender. And I don’t see where your example comes from either to be honest lol. I probably didn’t even know what a breast meant until about 7 or 8. I’d be pretty (actually very) surprised if a 4 year old boy was bullying a 4 year old girl (who most definitely doesn’t even have …
/r/MensRights14/03/22 11:10 PM

They definitely do lol Have you never heard a women shaming a man over being small or having a small dick? Or even having a neckbeard? That last one is a classic example. And nobody is saying that bullying a girl for having breasts isn’t wrong, and there certainly isn’t any harm done teaching not to do that. There is just plenty of male issues ignored.
/r/MensRights14/03/22 11:05 PM
1

For sure, but in that case does teaching specifically boys and boys alone about it solve the problem for girls?
/r/MensRights14/03/22 10:39 PM
2

Yep fair enough.
/r/MensRights14/03/22 10:34 PM
1

I don’t think anything you describe is really girl/woman specific. It’s not ‘manly’ to cry, and it’s not ‘manly’ to not pay for the first date. There are subtle gender roles inflicted on every gender I wouldn’t say women have it any worse per say. And I’m not sure about your response to adult women being the perpetrators of domestic violence at the same rates as adult men. It doesn’t sound like there’s much substance to it at least.
/r/MensRights14/03/22 10:33 PM
1

Sorry but that’s just not true. Young boys will pick on anyone, and so will young girls, even if the boys do it more. I would guess any sort of disparity would be due to girls being more likely to cry (more pain receptors etc) or more likely to show their emotions. I really have not seen any major difference in my lifetime.
/r/MensRights14/03/22 10:27 PM
1

4 year olds will tease anyone regardless of perpetrators’ or victims’ genders. If anything I would say that boys are bullied and picked on more than girls, for at least the majority of their school life. Maybe that’s bias but it’s what I saw personally. Even if you then say that it’s mostly boys bullying other boys, then you would at least agree that teaching about misandry achieves very little. Might as well teach about being kind in general imo.
/r/MensRights14/03/22 10:22 PM
5

Yep you’re right. There’s stats to back this up, and whilst it could be argued men don’t come forward enough when they are the victims, there’s nothing wrong with looking at the stats and realising that 1 in 7 against 1 in 25 women vs men having been injured by a partner suggests that the violence is more one-sided. I think that what these people are annoyed with though, is that there’s no reason to not teach about misandry causing female on male DV. Doesn’t take away from the cause of helping w…

Idk the majority of people I’ve seen here who are following MGTOW have nothing against women, and are still friends with women, they just don’t have an interest in dating anymore. I’m sure there’s hateful people within it, but there’s hateful people within any group of people on the planet. I don’t think it’s hateful to dislike dating anymore. Is it the people who make page edits that get paid? Or is it the company higher ups? If it’s the former I think it’s fine. I think it happens both ways man. It was international women’s day the other day, and there were loads of men using it as an excuse to talk about international men’s day’s lack of recognition (which is an issue fair enough), but it was absolutely brought up during the time of looking specifically at women’s issues. I get your point, but as long as both sides get support in the end (unlike your post where the one for men was removed) I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Edit: also just pointing ou…

I would’ve been fine if they did this both ways. It was interesting to read what the women had to say, and I think some people here would learn something by reading through as well, but there’s so reason to remove the one for men ffs 🤦‍♂️
/r/MensRights12/03/22 10:33 PM

There’s also really no reason to have this kind of thing go both ways. It takes nothing away from their point (however good or bad it might be in the first place) to also say to women to stop their friends from harassing other women/men. But no, they lump it entirely on men for no good reason.

Yeah well there’s women today who have been raised to think that other women are too emotional to lead a country, so they had to vote for Trump. (Not because they didn’t like Hilary, just because she was a woman) There’s a certain amount the human mind will just take as truth/something in their best interest if they were born and raised around it is all I’m saying.

Is it really so hard for them to talk about both women and men? You’ve got to actively put effort in to avoid talking about them lol Why can’t they acknowledge the issue for men, as well as for women? What is classed as unpaid work? If it’s childcare you’re talking about, I’m gonna have to say that raising a child is, whilst hard, much easier and more fulfilling/fun even than sitting at a desk all day, or fixing cars for a living. A lot of women class childcare as ‘stick an iPad in front of their face and you go and do whatever you want for the rest of the day’ anyway. Not exactly demanding work. It’s not like she’s immediately down by $50k as soon as she gets pregnant. It’s a very large amount of money to suddenly request of someone, and would make the average person’s quality of life drop significantly if they had to give it all up in one go. Dawg. You’re not supposed to ask for $50k from your significant other. All money kept, if not already in a shared account, is supposed to be used on shared expenses. There’s no reason to ask for $50k unless you want to spend it on yourself selfishly, or you’re planning on a divorce once you’ve got the money or some shit. Yep. I’m all for self-chosen gender roles if you want them, but considering we don’t exactly force women to stay in the house and raise kids, why do we still hold men to being the protectors of women? Idk. All respect to them if they do so, and I wouldn’t stop them of course, but some men are not up to the task both physically and mentally, and I absolutely do not blame them. You could be 18 years old, single with no kids and be fighting for a country you don’t even like because you were forced. Some men have wives and families and land to fight for, and some do not. There’s a point where you question whether this is large scale indoctrination of men where they think they need to fight, a bit…

I hate to say this about literally everything, but if the genders were swapped… It’s so normalised that it only barely raises an eyebrow, as opposed to the all out shit storm (rightfully so mind you) that would go down if it was women being forced to stay. Is right to bodily autonomy not a right or something? There’s no reason to keep these men in the country unless they’re going to be made to fight at some point. People don’t understand that you have to compromise nowadays. You’re never going to get the completely perfect husband or wife, and they’re always going to have their quirks and preferences. Like you say, people are very quick to jump to ‘my husband is useless’ before even consulting them. /r/MensRights08/03/22 04:27 PM

Yeah I guess it makes sense they don’t have as many statues you’re right. I just feel that too many people confuse that with ‘women don’t contribute anything meaningful to society’, when it could just be historical oppression, like not being able to vote for example, meaning that they are not historically significant. How much do you think women were allowed to do if they weren’t even trusted with the power to vote?
/r/MensRights08/03/22 04:26 PM
2

Well we all know women weren’t allowed to vote, and whilst someone else has supposedly refuted the fact that women even wanted to vote (idk about that), what does that tell you about the rest of society for women? If they weren’t even thought capable of voting properly, then they’re never going to be allowed into the high power positions that the people we have statues of nowadays were in.
/r/MensRights08/03/22 04:23 PM
2

Yeah idk how much you can use uncertainty as evidence because I’ve seen women literally say they don’t want a female president because ‘they would be too emotional’. I have no doubt that came entirely from people telling her that women are too emotional to run the country safely. There’s a reasonable amount of stuff you just put up with when it’s forced on you from an early age is all I’m saying.
/r/MensRights08/03/22 04:20 PM

Why would she complain about blaming and then bring up male on male DV completely unprovoked. Sounds like she wants to blame men lol
/r/MensRights08/03/22 01:23 PM

I think you probably are wrong, because she’s right about how women were historically treated. I mean they weren’t even allowed to vote for a long time, so what makes you think women would be allowed to hold other powerful societal roles? It doesn’t make all that much sense bringing it up nowadays, but she’s perfectly within her rights to explain how women aren’t worse ‘contributors to society’ (which is evidently what you think), they were just historically suppressed (which is true).

To an extent sure, but I think if they gave out too many bonuses to people who willingly join the military, then more people would drop out of school and college to join it, which is not really what you want in your country. If it was treated how you suggest, it would be like gambling with your life for bonuses—not very ethical imo. Yep just yesterday I was arguing here with a woman who said ‘men are the ones putting the male-only draft in place so why should I do anything about it?’ (Or something along those lines). Imagine Jiang Qing was still around committing all the shit that she did—it would be insane for all men to say that she is a woman so it’s a problem for women and women alone to deal with. Why do they keep focusing on the gender of a shitty person as the supposed cause, as opposed to acknowledging that they are…
/r/MensRights27/02/22 07:06 PM

You aren’t the norm if you support equality in the drafts (though I’m glad you do). And you say that feminism brings up jobs that heavily favour men, but that only applies to ‘good’ jobs. Idk what could necessarily be done either, but it’s never even mentioned, despite being fairly significant with the stats. I also understand that you might not want to fight for something that disadvantages you, but if you don’t, then you don’t really care about equality, and as I said, you only want I where it…

Cognitive bias? When was the last time you saw 3rd wave feminism trying to bring the >95% male sewage workers to a 50/50 gender split? Or fighting to get women added to the compulsory draft since the Ukraine situation? I have no problem with the supposed goals of feminism/3rd wave feminism (i.e. equality between the sexes), but they never fight for equality when it disadvantages them. They only want equality where it benefits women and everywhere they’re already ahead, they couldn’t care less ab…

Weird conclusion to jump to based on one guy’s creepy actions I have to say
/r/MensRights27/02/22 02:21 AM

No, I don’t. I said it’s a mutual decision to have unprotected sex—why is the blame entirely on the man? From what it seems to me, you want men to have all the responsibility. If you could propose your idea of how things should be, then maybe I’ll see it differently?
/r/MensRights25/02/22 04:44 PM
13

Can’t believe women aren’t even on the table for the draft when modern warfare has plenty of spots for them. Sure, maybe they wouldn’t be as effective at close combat, but anyone can hold a gun and pull a trigger. Though saying all that, it would definitely be better if there was no draft at all.
/r/MensRights25/02/22 04:20 PM
1

Well the woman was prepared for the consequences by letting him have sex with her without protection. It’s a mutual decision, and if it isn’t, then it’s rape and feel free to do whatever you want with the baby. I don’t see why the woman has no responsibility for having a child when she is also the one that let a man have sex with her without a condom. You should both discuss what to do if you get pregnant before you have unprotected sex. I mean if you’re worried about him leaving should you get …
/r/MensRights25/02/22 04:17 PM
2

Yeah, and nobody is forcing a woman to go through pregnancy if they don’t want to. At the end of the day, it’s their choice (as it should be), but if they both decide to have sex without protection (i.e. the woman let’s the man have sex with her when he’s not wearing a condom (remember you can always say no to sex)), then why is it still the man’s fault and he should pay for ‘his’ mistake? If men could opt in or out of child support, then it would be equal.
/r/MensRights25/02/22 07:33 AM

Fr. Ain’t no women fighting to take the >95% male sewage workers to a 50/50 gender split. They only want equality when it benefits them.
/r/MensRights24/02/22 05:23 PM
5

Yep. Women are able to be traditional, or non-traditional. Men are not allowed to be either.
/r/MensRights24/02/22 11:37 AM

Well personally I’d rather be wanted too much than not at all, but I do see the disadvantages 100%.
/r/MensRights22/02/22 06:32 PM

Well to be fair, there’s also technically no reason to assume it’s a men’s issue—the dude could genuinely have been acting like a predator. Not worth discounting racism as a possible cause is what I’m saying.
/r/MensRights22/02/22 05:20 PM
4

Alright my bad, but I still feel like my point stands. Just because there are some bad people in the world shouldn’t mean you can’t go up to someone and talk with them. As someone else has already said, that’s likely how your parents met—it’s how mine met: at a university bar where they met as strangers. Idk. I feel like women can pick and choose whenever they want to be in a relationship, and men have to approach women and do the work themselves. Men will suffer by far the most from your viewpo…
/r/MensRights22/02/22 05:18 PM
4

Well this is same logic that racists use. Black people have a higher crime rate, but that’s no reason to treat the average black man as a criminal who should be avoided at all costs is it? Imagine if you were labelled as a predator every time you tried to talk to the opposite gender, purely because there are some bad people from your gender.
/r/MensRights22/02/22 04:46 PM
1

Why can’t it be an issue regarding both?
/r/MensRights22/02/22 04:41 PM
5

So men are only allowed to talk to women if the women want them to, and they also have to know exactly when that time is? Most women would also rather not be left to die alone. How else are they supposed to get into relationships if they won’t let men talk to them?
/r/MensRights22/02/22 04:37 PM

No clue if I’m right or wrong, but you could get a recording of her saying how she is saving half your money for your future, and if she doesn’t pay up potentially there is legal action to be taken?? Again, I do not know if this is viable, but it may be something you could look up.

Bro they think that every action we take in our lives is weighed up in our minds for how much it benefits ‘the patriarchy’
/r/MensRights20/02/22 07:41 PM

Fair enough, but I would say you’re an exception. Most people care at least a little about what people look like—there’s a certain amount that people can do to control how they look, and if they look nice, they clearly care about themselves. But good for you if you don’t value looks at all.
/r/MensRights20/02/22 07:36 PM

Yeah well there’s always gonna be someone more attractive than your SO. As long as you don’t ditch them for one of them, there’s no harm in seeing one of those attractive people.
/r/MensRights20/02/22 05:23 PM

Yeah, and there are people who enjoy tattoo-ing their whole face and getting fake horns surgically added to their head. Does that mean it should be legal for parents to be able to do that to their child?
/r/MensRights20/02/22 06:50 AM

/r/MensRights19/02/22 10:53 PM

Dawg women will generally live after FGM in the same way men will after MGM. If it’s such an infringement of rights when women get pleasure removed from them, why is the same not true for men?
/r/MensRights19/02/22 10:52 PM
3

Ok, now say the same for FGM. That’s right you wouldn’t (and shouldn’t). There are people who do all sorts to their bodies and prefer it. Doesn’t mean it should be forced on everyone.

/r/MensRights16/02/22 10:57 PM

Dude could have had a shitty day at work and not be in the mood to do chores chores for a potentially 1 month into pregnancy woman. These people have no right to make calls as extreme as abort and divorce when they have no context and nothing from the other person’s point of view. They could genuinely ruin lives if people actually followed their shitty advice.
/r/MensRights16/02/22 10:38 PM
2

Well it’s hard isn’t it. A man has zero choice over whether his child lives or not (though I still I agree it should be the woman’s choice), but that doesn’t make it any less shitty for the man to maybe no longer have a kid to look forward to. There’s definitely room for the man to be punished here.
/r/MensRights16/02/22 10:35 PM
3

Yeah idk. It’s probably worth at least trying to sort things out. An abortion and a divorce are a pretty extreme reaction to something potentially so innocent. Maybe the dude had a shitty day at work and within a day he’ll feel completely fine again 🤷‍♂️

Idk I just think it’s wrong to make a child suffer due to parents being short on money. Sure, do some more research and make sure the parent isn’t just chucking their money down the drain, but at the end of the day, if they can’t afford a baby sitter and their 3 year old that would be left alone in the house for 5 hours, then I believe they should be eligible for something like what was described.

How you got the idea that men are the ones getting diversity hired is beyond me. It’s almost always (if not already always) the women who get in with lower marks to make up a quota. I’ll accept quotas for POCs, but in the education system I’ve been through, there is no way a woman would ever be or even feel unfairly disadvantaged.
/r/MensRights13/02/22 05:46 PM

Think of it this way. No man is willingly going into construction etc if they could get into a top university (a few dedicated and already highly skilled men will do ofc). Those are the jobs left behind for when they don’t make it. As for making more money, what do you mean by that? Are you saying that the average woman earns less than the average man, or are you saying that a woman and a man working the same job are getting different amounts? As for the former, way more women choose to be provi…

Quotas piss me off the most because there hasn’t been a single woman fighting for 50% gender splits in sewage workers, bin men, and constructions workers. Sure, they were useful when people had legitimate disadvantages in life, but there isn’t a single girl/woman who went through the same schooling system as me who would have anything anywhere near a disadvantage. And yet, as my brother is seeing first hand at the university of Oxford, the women are still getting quota placements, even if they p…

Yeah but a traditional culture puts all sorts of questionable (to say the least) pressures on people. They wouldn’t let a girl get an abortion, even if it was conceived through rape. They might force boys to get circumcised. To be honest though you’re right. I don’t see a reasonable reason for a 16 year old girl to willingly undergo FGM, and I could see societal pressures leading to unwilling FGM. In an ideal world we don’t have traditional cultures like that, but unfortunately we’re not in one.…

Up to her. If you’re old enough to decide you want children then you’re old enough to make your own decisions about your body. I don’t see why anyone would get FGM voluntarily though. But if you’re implying that undergoing transitioning surgery is GM then what do you think of older trans people?
/r/MensRights10/02/22 09:02 PM
2

Yeah this is my view as well. There’s definitely more pain that comes to trans men and women due to having their respective birth gender’s bodies. The earlier they transition (within reason of course) the better it will be for them. Don’t trans people also have to go through extensive psychological evaluation before surgery anyway? I’d be surprised if someone could make it through that without truly wanting it.
/r/MensRights10/02/22 07:55 PM
1

Yeah I guess. Problem is we also allow children to get married and have children at 16. Those two things are also pretty life changing, and I’d be surprised if a trans person made it through the psychological evaluations required to undergo the surgery unless they actually wanted it. I guarantee more pain comes to trans women from having male body shapes due to puberty than would come if they transitioned earlier. Society is much more accepting of trans men because they look like men most of the…

You’re probably right. Now connect the dots about what subs he’s in, and you’ll notice that feminism and lack of men’s rights might be the things causing those ‘negative experiences’ and that ‘loss’. But again, as he said, anti feminism != anti women’s rights. Women’s rights are objectively good, in the same way men’s are. 3rd wave feminism nowadays pushes for women’s privilege and not women’s rights.

And yet again the question becomes what if the genders were swapped. The outrage would be insane if a man pressured their wife into getting a part of her genitalia removed because he ‘preferred it’ (rightly bloody so). Why is the same outrage not happening this way around?

I think there’s an argument to be made for women possibly being expected to like being ‘womanly’ back in the day—in much the same way you suggest women are being changed by feminism nowadays. Maybe women always wanted to be how they are now, but we’re being indoctrinated before? There’s no real way to know, but I do reckon it’s more along the lines of what you’re saying in your post.

It is weirder, but circumcision as a non-infant is fucked as well. I know someone who was circumcised for actual medical reasons as an adult and they were walking funny and in pain for a couple of weeks. No need to put anyone through that. Yeah I’m not saying it’s a be all and end all generalisation of girls and boys, I was just providing what I thought might have been an explanation for more women being nurses etc. I’m all for freedom of choice though, because we’re all different and have different opinions and preferences.

Dawg. That last point you made is exactly why I put that on my comment. You said in another comment that men don’t face the same/many challenges compared to women when applying to and graduating from university. Are you implying the lower percentage of men in university is because men are less capable than women? Or that going to university is ‘too rigorous’ for them so they choose not to? I think we have to recognise just a tiny bit that there are natural biological differences in women and men…

Tried doing a binomial distribution on my calculator but the numbers are too big, but I’ll say what I was going to try proving: What are the odds that with 211,000 female graduates that less than 39,000 will become doctors? Gotta be fairly slim, and that’s ignoring the fact that not all men are going to become doctors. And if we’re saying that they don’t make up the same number of doctors as men due to ‘bias’’, are you suggesting we still live in a world in this day and age where >90% women are …

/r/MensRights01/02/22 09:25 PM

See the problem you have is that you’re trying to win the argument, instead of trying to be right, and instead of trying to teach anyone anything if you are right. Sure, more men are doctors now, congrats you were right on that one, but the post, and the comments are about it are about university graduates and their futures.

Yeah you’re right, but there shouldn’t be problems with having twice the workforce lol It’s not women’s fault for joining the workforce more, it’s the people in power who have somehow managed to mess up having twice the workforce. There should be twice as many resources and twice as many services available that should supposedly make up for the average individual earning less.

Yeah but by bitcoins nature it is being inefficient on purpose. No reason why it couldn’t have been/be made with just a time delay or something, as opposed to needing actual computing power.

Idk y’all could’ve picked a coin that didn’t require computing power. Bitcoin mining makes up 1% of the entire world’s energy use. That’s an insanely high number for something totally unnecessary.

For real. He may feel uncomfortable but that is in no way his girlfriend’s fault. And honestly he should get over it, as after all there’s a 90% chance that any girl he dates will have had an ex. If he can’t handle that, then sure break up, but he should at least try to get over that for the sake of his girlfriend—it’s not her fault her ex sent that video.
/r/MensRights29/01/22 09:19 PM

I do think whilst he may be disturbed by the video (fair enough), he shouldn’t blame or take it out on his girlfriend. She did nothing, and the majority of people have had multiple partners before their current one. Absolutely no fault of his girlfriend and honestly, whilst it’s okay to have feelings like his, it’s not something that should bother him so much.

That feels like such a made up stat. How can anyone realistically measure how much either gender ‘feels the need to meet 100% of the requirements’? I don’t mean to take away from your point because maybe you’re right, but imagine this was the other way around (I.e. like it has been historically), would it be reasonable to say ‘women clearly aren’t trying as hard to be good candidates’ as opposed to looking at a ‘proper’ reason? Maybe it’s because men now only make up ~40% of higher education pla…

No. Why would you go backwards in civilisation? Do you know how much this sub complains about the women who bring up historical discrimination? What about slavery? Should we, as white people, have to be slaves for a couple hundred years to make up for it? Or should we try and be better as a society and, rightly so, abolish slavery of all kinds?
/r/MensRights27/01/22 10:13 PM

Yep you’re right. This sub is so painful to be a part of when it does all the same things it gets annoyed about women doing.

I guess yep
/r/MensRights27/01/22 07:39 PM

Or no one. I appreciate that this argument has only been brought up after women were considered for the draft and not before (funnily enough), but nobody should be forced into the draft.
/r/MensRights27/01/22 06:53 PM

To be fair it’s a very vocal portion of feminism, if it isn’t already a sizeable one.
/r/MensRights27/01/22 06:32 PM
2

Yeah maybe. I can’t say I really know the difference/what libfem means, but it’s definitely here in liberal leftist territory where most of this extreme feminism stuff happens lol
/r/MensRights27/01/22 05:35 PM
3

Nope. Nobody is against the actual definition and motive behind feminism (i.e. equality), but it’s the way some people go about ‘trying’ to achieve said equality and end up doing the opposite that’s the problem.
/r/MensRights27/01/22 08:14 AM

If you’re not going to allow men to choose when their partner has a child, which is fair enough, then why should they have to be forced into child support when they don’t want a child? That way there is nobody stopping the woman from having a child, and nobody making the woman have a child against her will.
/r/MensRights27/01/22 08:10 AM

No? I got the point, and then told the guy that there are in fact more straight women than lesbians. I’d say that’s fairly obvious no?
/r/MensRights27/01/22 07:43 AM

Ah alright I get your point fair enough. Side note though: lesbians are a minority and they wouldn’t be the majority of women anyway, so the ‘problem’ would still be lessened with a woman only gym.
/r/MensRights26/01/22 11:26 PM
-24

Bro this is a reach. Just think for a second and imagine yourself in their shoes. Imagine being hit on all the time at a gym by a bunch of guys, while all you want to do is exercise. Sure, you’re probably not gay, but everyone’s different, and if they don’t find someone attractive or they’re not interested in them, in the same way you’re not interested in a man, you’re not going to want a bunch of them interrupting your exercise. I support this sub a quite a lot, but some of us here try too hard…
/r/MensRights26/01/22 11:18 PM

Yeah this a miss from him. I would dislike being approached all the time by people I’m not interested in. I’d just want to get on with exercising, like I’m there for.

Just reading and article about this now. feminist critique has often regarded the military as a hierarchical, male-dominated institution promoting destructive forms of power Just a bunch of meaningless waffle to dodge the draft and still pretend to be on the side of equality lol Where would we be if we decided the military was too much of a ‘male dominated institution promoting destructive forms of power’ and scrapped it in 1939? Or if they do believe that the draft is unfair on everyone, which …

I agree with most of what you have to say, but that fact that women are more likely to attempt suicide/have suicidal thoughts and actions is true and is backed up by studies. It’s up to you what you do with that information though. It could be argued both ways that women struggle more than men, or men struggle more than women to be honest.
/r/MensRights26/01/22 08:47 PM

You’re right. You aren’t judging people based off hair colour or intelligence level, you’re judging them based off what’s between their legs. Also your point about being ‘socialised’ to commit awful crimes is pretty stupid. If you’re going to be scared of a potential criminal, why does it matter the way they became a criminal? Why are you only scared of men because they are supposedly ‘socialised’ to rape? Wouldn’t you also be scared of a murderer who became a murderer of their own accord? I don…

I think he’s right about women getting slightly more leave than men. After all it’s not about being ready to return to work. Imagine there was a job to do and there was two people who could do it. One person really strained themselves to complete the job while the other sat there and did nothing. A week after the job is done, the person who did all the work would likely be perfectly recovered and in a similar state to the one who did nothing. Would it be right to then send them both back to norm…

What tf could I say to a crazy person to stop them killing a woman? What ‘affirmative action’ could I take to prevent this from happening? I feel like making a mentally ill man play with different toys when he’s growing up is not going to stop him from doing some messed up shit if he’s going to do it anyway. I get your point, but the article did not refer to a non-mutual decision. It says the women want IVF and the men want to keep trying natural. That clearly implies they both want a kid, all be it through different methods.

I don’t think it was sexual assault, as they only did it after OP agreed to it, and likely wouldn’t have if they said no. But I guess it depends on how manipulative they were being, and how much they evidently guilt tripped him into saying yes. We don’t know the full story, but again, if someone says ‘yes’, there isn’t necessarily reason to assume they mean otherwise. I will say that her and her friends do appear to be shitty people though.
/r/MensRights23/01/22 03:53 PM

Well yeah I suppose it depends on how sober he was. But if he was relatively sober, how is someone supposed to know if your ‘yes’ actually meant ‘no’ if you didn’t say anything or voice any concerns? I think her and her friends are shitty people, and should absolutely have seen the signs of OP being uncomfortable, but no matter how uncomfortable you were, if you said yes to it, and didn’t say stop at any point, idk how much you could say it was sexual assault. For all they know, OP had a change …

They always act like the woman has no control over whether they let a man without a condom have sex with them. If they truly had no control, and the man was forcing himself on her without a condom, then it would be rape, in which case the woman can do what she likes with the child and press whatever charges she wants. Except it’s not rape the massive majority of the time. She chooses to have unprotected sex the same as the man does.

Im all for encouraging girls and women to get into male-dominated stem fields, I just dislike the idea of diversity hiring to do so. They should be encouraged to get themselves up to a high level enough to get into jobs and universities, but they shouldn’t be encouraged to work less hard to get those same spots just because they are women. I ‚spoke’ with some other woman about this, and she said that there is a lot of ‚background discouragement‘ for women in stem fields while they grow up. But h…

Well you can’t get those kinds of stats since no institution is going to admit they let more women in just to look good. There does seem, however, to be large amounts of anecdotal evidence here, and whilst that’s not the be all and end all, it could be taken into account. My brother for example is studying engineering at Oxford (joint top uni in the UK) and he’s always talking about the blatant diversity hiring of women in his classes. Yep. My brother is studying engineering at Oxford (joint top uni in the U.K.) and he‘s always talking about the blatant diversity hiring. In his class of 8, top 3 are men, bottom 3 are women. Considering there are around 2000 applicants across the subject per year, there shouldn’t be nearly as much skill variation as there is in his and others classes.
/r/MensRights19/01/22 06:43 PM

Time to bring up my favourite statistics. >90% male sewage workers, >90% male bin collectors, >90% male construction workers, >90% male army soldiers. Aside from maybe army soldiers, you don’t see many feminists fighting for equality in those areas lol. Sure, men hold the majority of power, but they evidently do the majority of hard work as well. The idea of shitting on all men because the top 1% are particularly rich doesn’t hold up when you see that a large proportion of the bottom 1% are men.
/r/MensRights18/01/22 08:53 PM
2

When you go all the way to FDS levels of feminism, it’s probably negatively affecting them lol, not just unnecessary. That being said, I’m a supporter of what feminism is after (equality between men and women), it’s just often done badly in practice.
/r/MensRights18/01/22 08:38 PM
3

Yep. It’s like when they complain about not feeling safe walking through the dangerous parts of a city at night. Neither do men?, and men are the majority victims of homicide. So if anything, this would be a men‘s issue and not a women‘s one, but that’s not how anyone sees it lol
/r/MensRights18/01/22 08:32 PM
1

Nah. The problem for women is actually sexual assault in the military surrounded by other guys. If there were more women, that problem could be solved, but the real solution is to not send people to die on some foreign soil against their will, whether they are men or women.
/r/MensRights16/01/22 12:11 AM

So your solution to rare and uncontrollable deaths is to cause more (purposeful) deaths? You aren’t supposed to kill more people to ‚make it fair‘.

Exactly. If they did get paid less, nobody would hire men because they could just pay a woman less to do the same job. I’ll appreciate there might be some gender discrimination, but not anywhere near the 0.70 ratio.

The thing that makes her story unbelievable is that the first move for her was to make a post online. Why not go to the authorities? If you’re willing to share it to everyone you know, then surely sharing it privately to law enforcement isn’t too scary. I’d understand if she didn’t want to tell anyone, but telling everyone she knows instead of the authorities just doesn’t make any sense unless she’s doing it for attention and/or because she fell out with the guy.

Yeah I do try, and will keep doing so, but it is indeed hard sometimes.
/r/MensRights07/01/22 04:57 PM

Exactly. People need to realise that different percentages of genders make up different percentages of jobs. Computer science and engineering is male interest dominated, so why would it not be mostly men in the workforce? Same goes for nurses and women. If it’s female interest dominated, then it’s going to have more women than men. I’m all for whatever men or women decide they want to do for a career, but don’t shove either side down for no good reason.

Ok you make a reasonable point, but what I am all for, is criticism on both sides. We can point out the lack of male support for victims of domestic abuse (99.2% of domestic abuse shelters are for women) due to feminism believing men are so privileged that they don’t need support (e.g. feminists have protested international men’s day multiple times, once even leading to a man to feel he had nobody left that cared about him to committing suicide). Well said. I always find it weird when they complain about the man that they let have sex with them didn’t wear protection. It’s not like they have no choice in the matter. If the guy still insists after she says no, well then it’s rape, at which point press all the charges and put all the evidence you want against the guy.

Shame this post was removed :/ Also I love how nobody said a word about the fact that men can be raped at 14 and still have to pay child support. Objectively those two things are more of an ‘emotional burden’ than being able to choose between having and not having a baby. And I don’t understand why birth control doesn’t go two ways in their heads. It’s not like they have no choice but to let the man do it without protection. If they were that bothered by the fact a man can choose whether or not …

Well sorry, I don’t know if English is your first language or not, but I couldn’t really follow what you were saying honestly. Re-reading it now I’m still not sure lol You said that men are more likely to abuse women, which is fair enough, and then you started saying that the proportion of men getting abused should be higher? Are you saying that men are also abusing a lot of other men? If you are, that’s not particularly relevant (even if it’s true), since it makes no difference to the proportio…

Well you said it yourself, ‘men do not have the resources that they should’. Considering they make up 33% of domestic abuse victims, why are only 0.8% of shelters for men, compared to 99.2% for women?
/r/MensRights06/12/21 09:07 PM
2

I get your point, but it’s not to say that 1/3 are men as a way of pretending that men have it worse, but rather that the number of men that are victims of domestic abuse is nowhere near negligible. Now compare 1/3 to 2/3 with 0.8% of domestic violence shelters being for men, and 99.2% being for women, and there’s your problem.
/r/MensRights06/12/21 09:05 PM
1

Yeah I see where you’re coming from, but it’s not designed to say ‘men make up most domestic abuse cases’ because, quite simply, 1/3 < 2/3. It’s instead saying that the number is not anywhere near negligible, so why are only 0.8% of domestic violence shelters for men? Hmm?

So not only are all men rapists, but all men are willing to potentially die for a chance at raping women? Maybe read about the kinds of weaponry and torture used in the medieval times before you assume that all men will happily go to war. Some are greedy, sure, but the majority of people fighting there will be fighting against their will, or coerced by the greedy ones in charge. It’s like WW1 where they said how glorious it was to fight for your country, and then they got 4 years of living in a …

I’m saying that nobody is forcing women to use those birth control methods. It’s not like it’s anyone’s choice but theirs after all. If they are getting forced, then they should leave those relationships and not blame them having to use birth control on all men.
/r/MensRights03/12/21 02:10 PM

To be fair, I do think female birth control is pretty bad. I swear condoms and pulling out has very close to 100% success rate anyway. But yeah you do realise it’s a 2 person decision? If you say no to going unprotected, the other person can’t still do it without it being classed as rape, and the majority of people will not want even rape accusations, nevermind being convicted of it.

‘Thought’ is a bit of an overstatement. She supposedly was unable to find any resemblance among the line up, so instead went through them and decided one of them looked like the sort of person that would rape and kill a woman: “the expression in his eyes told me that if we were alone, if there were no wall between us, he would call me by name and then kill me”
/r/MensRights24/11/21 06:15 PM

I think the other person might be right actually. She likely didn’t have an accurate enough memory in her head to single someone out and put them in prison, but maybe had vague recollection, and the justice system used that suspicion, along with evidence they had against him to put him away. Evidently that evidence was wrong, but that wasn’t necessarily her fault. Yeah this. We need to get behind issues like racism in police and sexism against women in the workplace by bringing them up, not by bringing everyone else down. I respect them for wanting to exclude the people that are typically the most oppressive to them, but if they do that by generalising all of them, they aren’t any better than the people they’re against.

I wish I was articulate enough to write you a properly convincing message, but I just wanted to drop in and remind you you’re clearly a strong guy and you can get through this. Like other people have said, get yourself some enjoyment it sounds like you don’t have much in the way of things to look forward to. Maybe just set small goals for yourself to maintain a purpose, and hopefully get out of the situation you’re in, or better it. Good luck man!

I think you’re sort of right but it’s more the age that should make them more forgiving. I bet I wasn’t the smartest at 13 years old lol You shouldn’t tolerate that kind of thing, but you’d get further solving the problem if you try to educate them, as opposed to just ditching them.

Don’t agree with you in general terms, but since they’re 13/14 y/o there’s plenty of room for change growing up no need to cut ties yeah. I think the problem with giving out equal punishment as the supposed abuser would have got is the slim chance they aren’t lying. Imagine getting completely locked up when nobody can prove or disprove (i.e. 50% chance) that something happened or not.

I don’t have the link for that stat from that guys comment, but I do have one which shows roughly what he’s getting at: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/explainers-56365412 It is estimated that about 1.3% of women were victims of violent crime in the year ending March 2020, compared with 2% of men. In the past decade, there were 4,493 male victims of killings and 2,075 female victims (31%) in England and Wales.

Might have been taught like that it might not be their fault. I’ve seen women say they were voting for Trump because a women shouldn’t be in power (their emotions get the better of them or something). Now obviously they didn’t make that opinion up themselves is all I’m saying.

Yeah, it’s about looks in the same way it’s about looks for men. Most sub par looking men will get looked at as if they are pedophiles I stg. On that last point, if a guy isn’t as entertaining as they are wanted to be, that’s the end of the line for them. I will be surprised if I get a girlfriend ever tbh, and that’s not cause I’m a bad person—most people like me because I’m nice to people. But without being funny and entertaining, in normal relationships, once again, I doubt I’m ever going to be in one. I feel like the same is not true for women.

Mate. You don’t have to put your life at risk to be a man. That’s the whole point. No feminists are saying women have to be strong and no MRAs are saying men have to be ‘weak’. Everyone should be given the choice. Have you not noticed that humans don’t need to hunt for food anymore? That gender roles mean effectively nothing anymore? That whether you think a man is ‘girly’ makes no difference to his survival? Maybe don’t project your own insecurities about your gender on people who just want to …

Maybe it is… But that doesn’t mean you can’t care about women who are consistently sexually assaulted at work. You can do both. I don’t see why this sub hates that one so much.

Y’all need to stop complaining about that sub. I’ve just read through it as a supporter of this one, and the only things that are to do with men is that they re getting assaulted and discriminated against. If you want to say that they’re lying about that stuff, then you shouldn’t care about the few men that suffer that kind of thing. Yet obviously you do, because that’s normal. And so is caring about women suffering those things.

One of my favourites is that feminists push for 50/50 gender workplace splits (fair enough in some cases), but you never see them trying to break down the 93% male sewage worker population lol

Maybe, instead of trying to make up arguments to beat feminists, you should teach them. Or maybe you’ll even learn something from them if you’re open to it. A lot of feminists are good willed people and the true feminist movement is beneficial to everyone. That being said it does have flaws. Try to point out those flaws in a meaningful way, rather than a snarky comeback comment. Otherwise nobody learns anything and you just divide people even more.

Yeah alright pretty much everything you said I agree with. Especially the idea that men are not as privileged as they are portrayed. I myself hate reading through the posts some of the women I know post or share online. While going through my struggles and being told constantly that I’m so privileged I should be going out of my way to help others at all times kind of pisses me off lol. I once read in a feminist sub a comment (with a lot of upvotes) saying that men who work construction jobs don’…

I think you’re generalising too much. Some women might be like how you describe sure, but my mum and some of the teachers I know at my college are genuinely oppressed even with putting in all the effort that men do, or more. One of them said their manager said they were only hired because of the ‘cute skirt’ they were wearing. How degrading must that be? Today’s society almost always has no value in gender differences with the sort of work that is done in first world countries. Women do not have…

Well you certainly made it sound like it. You were basically ridiculing women because they are physically weaker for no good reason. And I didn’t mean that women staying at home is a bad thing, just that it isn’t socially accepted for a man to do the same, which isn’t necessarily fair. In today’s society gender differences mean pretty much nothing other than physical fighting jobs. Again there’s not really any reason for you to go into such a lengthy ridiculing of women for that reason. You coul…

You’re right, but why should all the other innocent men put their lives on the line? Evil is fought for the benefit of everyone, so why isn’t it fought by everyone? We didn’t put up an army of all women to go and fight Jiang Qing?

Bad take honestly. You can’t be in this sub getting annoyed at women wanting to be more than equal, then start saying men deserve all the positions of power because of biological reasons. It’s biological reasons that more women are able to be stay-at-home parents, but that’s not a good thing is it?

Yeah it’s all about people here trying to win the argument against newcomers, rather than actually teaching them something they didn’t know before.

We need to be more understanding towards people visiting the sub for one. They might have an objectively bad opinion, but if we all scream and shout at them in the comments, they’re not going to get any other ideas than what they came with. Nobody is willing to learn anything when you do that. It’s sometimes like we’re trying to win the argument, rather than actually teach them something they didn’t know before.

I mean you’ll say you didn’t mean it like this, but it was implying that this sub was a hate group. I personally would be pretty surprised if a Men’s, Women’s, Trans, Gay rights community turned out as a hate group, and nobody is holding you in a hateful place you can leave if you want, so if you didn’t mean it like I just said, what was the reason for saying that extra bit? That being said I’m glad you volunteered. Anyways, I need to get on with drawing my dad a birthday card so apologies if I …

Everyone is extreme online. I see it on both sides. Maybe you were just constantly belittling their opinions? I will have a look before I say anything else though.

I have to disagree. I know that they shouldn’t have said anything like that but there is plenty of good-willed people here that will comment on objectively bad beliefs and opinions. I took one little look through this page, and whilst the fact the post is up isn’t great, there was a comment under it explaining why it isn’t, in a constructive manner https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/q8kgze/the_women_who_accused_that_400_men_harassed_her/hgq0e34/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_…

Yeah I don’t know really. I guess all I can say is that I do try to convince them not to be so extreme when I’m around here. You do make some valid points, but honestly most of the stuff I read here is pretty civil, more so even than feminist subs I sometimes look around, so I don’t know why there’s been such an extreme exception made for you. It genuinely isn’t this bad normally.

I don’t know I feel like looking at your comments that your not here to teach people, you’re here to have a smug smile on your face when you put an impactful one line reply under someone’s comment. Maybe I’m getting the wrong idea. Also I wasn’t referencing you when I said hurling insults that’s just generally how I feel about society nowadays. Pretty sure you’re right, but as everyone else has said, you’re clearly not here for discussion, just to make people you disagree with feel like shit. Why not, instead of doing that, reason with them? This is why everyone is so divided nowadays. Nobody makes convincing arguments anymore they just hurl insults and would rather win the argument than have the other person learn anything. You’re just making everyone here that maybe don’t have the best opinions hate you, and they’re not going to make…

You’re right to an extent, but boys should still have the right to choose how they live their lives.

Dude part of the argument for men’s rights is literally to break down what you’re saying. A guy can be whatever he wants in the same way a woman can be whatever she wants. You’re not only saying ‘should have the option to be’ you’re saying ‘should be’ which isn’t great.

It’s a fairly relevant point to bring up I think. Maybe people have linked the World Cup earnings to the rest, which, fair enough, is not necessarily right. But on that note, the women do actually earn the same if not more from the world cups. I saw a video explaining it all, and basically the women opted for a more guaranteed pay than the men, as in if they get knocked out immediately, then they’ll be better off than if the men did. The problem was, when they actually won, they didn’t get as mu…

Alright so maybe I just totally missed the important parts, but what I got from that was a 60-65% male conviction rate compared to women. That being said, that value was taken from women being judged in court, but not receiving the same amount punishment as men, right? Now it also didn’t say what crimes were being committed, so I can’t make too big an assumption. But it also didn’t say that they were under 18 anywhere, so how do we know that that is stopping men from going to college? And for yo…

Not to take away from the point, but I’d do the same tbh. If my partner made enough money to buy anything ever, then I wouldn’t feel the need to work. No matter what Melinda wanted to buy, I bet Bill wouldn’t have even noticed it on his pay check. Again, not trying to dismiss the main point, but this is a pretty extreme example that’s probably not too applicable.

Yeah I don’t know how I feel about that kind of system getting put in. There are probably plenty of women who are capable and good enough to be top politicians, who aren’t getting voted in due to sexist reasons. However, that being said, this is not the way to go about it. If the population of somewhere is generally sexist against women, then that’s what needs to be sorted out, rather than putting people into power, regardless of how good they would be. Nice idea but wrong method.

Yeah nobody’s really arguing with you. But almost every single man who did that would not get away with it - and fair enough. You’re kinda doing what men always get hated for, which is bringing up some other problem instead of focusing on what the problem presented is, at least for a little bit. I don’t support doing that for either men or women by the way. The guy who commented above is not trying to say that men going into girls changing rooms isn’t bad, they’re saying that it’s bad both ways …

That is exactly my point. What reason is there to be uncomfortable about being told to smile? As I was saying (and as you have mentioned), women claim that it is creepy and makes them uneasy, whereas men don’t complain as it is a pretty normal thing to be told. If everyone walked around being grumpy, society wouldn’t be a very nice place to be in... The point of this being in the sub? Well basically to show that men are not necessarily having it easier than women, but maybe it’s just some women …

Alright but why not smile and be kind to other people? It’s not a gender thing was all I was saying. Both sexes get told to smile and be kind because it’s simply a nice thing to do.

Yeah a lot of women think they are being oppressed when people tell them to smile and be nice. Everyone gets told that. It’s just human decency like you said to smile and be nice to other people...

Dawg. You posted this is men’s rights, you clearly think there is some kind of attack on men’s rights... If there is no way of interpreting the results, how did you know to post them here? I’m saying that most of the stuff here is true, but idk what the point of the studies where it’s men disliking other men are. It’s not anyone’s fault other than other men, so advocating for men’s rights, which is what I assume you’re doing (nothing wrong with that) wouldn’t solve those problems.
/r/MensRights13/05/21 07:01 AM

There is definitely some good stuff in there, however some of it is a bit questionable especially the stuff about men not favouring other men equally to women, because then it is technically men oppressing men and that’s not really anyone’s fault other than men (supposedly). It could be argued that it comes down to basic instincts for men to care less about other men, but then you could just as easily say that women being more likely to be saved and what have you is just basic instincts to prote…
