The SPE is still taught in modern sociology, psychology, and social psychology classes (not to mention popular culture) despite its glaring methodological flaws. IIRC, there have been a few attempts to re-create the experiment, but none have had the same results. Yet, somehow, I still learned about the conclusions drawn by Zombardo as some sort of revealed wisdom in my sociology and social psychology classes. I heard Zombardo talking abut it the other day on TV. edit: the reason its still taught…

Philip G. Zimbardo is an idiot who has basically been riding the popularity wave of a single extraordinarily flawed and unscientific study--the stanford prison experiment. The only reason the stanford prison experiment is so heavily studied is because it confirms certain peoples' pre-conceived notions about the behavior of individuals, namely it allows people to put all responsibility on society rather than the individual

you realize calling her ugly does two things (1) perpetuates negative image of the mens rights movement and (2) you lose credibility, you think she or cnn is going to listen to your criticism or take it at all seriously if you throw shit like that? epic fail

Hopefully the appellate court will uphold it. New York courts are famous for working around terribly drafted laws and the appellate courts are famous for upholding them

she says "its not ok to mistreat girls" . i really don't like this: I don't even understand why he so hesitant to defend himself---well i do but....you can legally defend yourself by returning force to stop force. it also pisses me off that everyone on the train is just sitting around and watching and keeps calling it a fight and telling him to not hit her back--that's not a fight, its an assault. "and the worst part is he'll be back with her tomorrow" youtube comment: "she'll bail him out lol" …
