Lying in an attempt to place a man on the sex offender registry and get him imprisoned is a very serious crime. There’s absolutely no reason we can’t place a woman who lied on the sex offender registry. The details of why she’s on the list would be public and easily discoverable. Plenty of stuff gets you put on the sex offender registry: rape, child porn, getting caught having sex in a secluded-but-technically-public area, or peeing outside in public. I actually agree that prison guards are not the people who should be evaluating the health of prisoners. What I do take issue with is how women are singled out for special protection with this bill. Make prisoners experiencing heart attacks, difficulty breathing, and severe abdominal pain are also ignored. And on many college campuses, a "trial" consists of a few women's studies professors who subscribe to the view that if a female makes a rape claim, it must be true.
