"Why can't we just say that there are advantages and disadvantages to being either male or female?" I think we do. At least most people I speak to accept that without any huge issues with it. But I don't think that every infographic needs to make that point for both genders. Sometimes they need to be focused. It's pointing to some of the serious issues and problems that men face. And yes as shown by the statistics many more men are dealing with them then women. But I would certainly argue agains…

But you're the one that tied the infographic as if it were a response to feminists or feminism. "The problem here is that nothing in this list is a result of feminism" That wasn't the point of the graphic so there is no problem. If the title of the infographic was "Results of Feminism" then you would be on the right track. I don't understand how having certain examples of where male privilege certainly doesn't exist is cherry picking. It would certainly be cherry picking if the infographic was t…

Good to know. I would put that info on an update version in the future. Thanks for putting it together.

I don't believe that it's trying to disprove that men have no advantages or privileges. We certainly do at times or in certain circumstances and I think all but the most militant and stubborn of us would admit that. The graphic is simply disproving the belief that a "male privilege" exists regardless of circumstance or context. Now I don't believe the idea of that significant of a "male privilege" is super widespread but it does exist. It's not a bad idea have the information out there in a way …

Nothing about this info graphic suggests any of those statistics are caused or influenced by feminism. All the info graphic does (other than present the statistics and their sources) is refute the claim that a "male privilege" exists regardless of circumstance or context.

That really is the best idea in the thread. I second thepizzapeople's recommendation. Even if the teacher doesn't go for it maybe you can print out some of the accounts and offer them to the girl who wasn't taking you seriously. As you hand them to her something like "You were incredibly dismissive of the feelings of male rape victims the other day. Maybe it would help you get some perspective to read the thoughts and feelings of male victims like reading the accounts of female victims opened my…

Exactly. Even if teachers can't force a change of opinion on someone their job is to provide the correct facts and information so that students who might not have known some of it actually have the information to come to a better informed decision.

You're the best kind of person. We need more of you in this world.

That's why I posted the article. The difference of reaction because she is a woman as opposed to a man. With my personal (and really liberal) views on sex I wish that neither gender had to worry about going to jail over this but to me the fact that men have to worry more makes it a bigger issue.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
