In Canada, and globally, women are the fastest-growing population in prisons (Sawyer, 2018). Maybe because violent women are finally being seen as threats... Many movies have been made that contain problematic relationships between older male leads and female leads. In fact, Natalie Portman, who is in this movie was arguably a victim of this by the director of Leon. Despite this, usually, those movies, even if well regarded by critics, still get criticism because of the problematic aspects. In fact, "Men should be willing to sacrifice their own well being in order to provide financially for the women in their lives" which is very similar to "Men are mainly useful to provide financial security for women" is listed as benevolent sexism against women.
