Thanks for your response, I am in India. It’s an agreement that was prepared by the lawyer. Both the parties agreed and signed. The divorce decree just says that the custody and alimony have been sorted already. No parenting plan is mentioned in the divorce decree. Law is shit in my country.

What’s obvious?

That’s because I live 90 minutes’ drive away. Her workplace is at a walkable distance from her place. She can keep a nanny, focus on her work, keep coming to the baby sporadically while the nanny takes care of him and her other household chores.

Yes, I get it but not getting the parenting time when I want is also not something that will be entertained where you live

I am in India btw, no one gives a crap about father’s rights here. They will close their eyes and support women.

What’s the most important thing? I think it is being able to spend time with your child. That’s above everything else. If you are robbed of your fatherhood, it is the other parent who should pay the reparation and not the one that was robbed. She should be putting in more efforts and pay more money as well. Period.

Both wanted the mutual divorce. She said that she wants to have the sole custody till he is 5 years old with allowing me to visit ONCE. She asked for equal money for the nanny and child’s future education. I asked for parenting time, she refused. I refused for the nanny’s salary. I fought for twice a month. Both agreed for mutual divorce with me visiting twice. I btw live like a 90 minutes drive away from her. She doesn’t have to travel, I will go to her place, take him out and have to bring him…

It was the terms and conditions of the mutual divorce.

She did ask me to pay for the nanny and for child’s education. Paying for my child’s education is a no brainer and she did not need to ask for it. I refused to pay for the nanny. I asked for equal parenting time, she refused. I asked about the monthly expenses, she did not respond. So, I contribute monthly as I please

I haven’t paid any alimony or child support. I only voluntarily contribute towards essentials like clothes, diapers, hospital visits, vaccines. I get to meet him twice a month. I don’t get to keep him with me overnight.

I have not settled any spousal support. She is financially independent. Earns as much as I do, has a much more stable job with more perks and benefits.

I am not paying any child support, just buying things for him voluntarily. My child is 2. This is ongoing since 2 years.

More than anything else, I feared that he will not be able to adjust just with me because she was and still is breastfeeding. I thought that he will cry in the nights

She in fact was reluctant for it and wanted once a month. She wouldn’t agree for a mutual divorce if I didn’t agree to 2 days a month

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
