No, pseudoscience is your demented claim that it's impossible to maintain fit physique in later age because of the "slowed metabolic rate". That's an argument couchpotatoes use to justify being out of shape and unhealthy. I see a whole bunch of people in my gym that are 40/50+ and still fit, because they didn't plop down on the couch, took a bag of chips and started complaining about "slowed metabolic rate".

Metabolism argument is bullshit. Whether you gain weight or not purely depends on CICO (calories in, calories out). If you eat more than you spend, you get fat, simple as that. Also, older people tend to be more sedentary, so they spend even less than someone who likes long walks. Don't eat garbage, don't gorge yourself and actually move around and you won't be getting fat.
