Wait are you trying to argue that you should just accept what life throws at you instead of seeking better/greener pastures? Everybody has the choice to take a safer job, but it takes time and effort, which is what most people don't feel like doing...yeah there are lots of factors, but those could just as well apply to women, and you having the attitude that "well if no one else does it, a man has to do it" has nothing to do with that.

"I had a hard time getting a job. It's out there - I'm not that likeable and I'm a poor performer. There were people who wouldn't talk to me." And this woman is CEO. Sorry, but if any male had the stigma he was a poor performer and not likable he definitely wouldn't be hired. I'm very disappointed in the people who give these kind of people a platform to even attempt to proliferate themselves. It's really sad how Pao is able to use her gender to terrorise herself into the CEO role and then keep …

You resorted to name calling, not me. Also, you chose to classify her based on her accent, not me. I'm quoting you not making things up, but keep trying.

Did you or I say that she was not able to stand up for herself because of her poor English? Don't try to turn this around on me. And no it's not a strawman argument it's the logical conclusion to what you said. You are trying to defend your position pretty clearly by just labelling/judging me.

You seem to think that some kind of one-liner interaction from a television show between a host and a foreigner is somehow a pussy pass being denied How did I think that? What indication did I give? I was merely pointing out how hurtful you are for associating her accent with her inability to give a smart answer. Its actually nothing, and you just want a reason to hate some chick. Did you come into this thread with the intent to make friends? The good submissions here are great, but this stuff j…

I'm a what? I don't even know you and you are judging me as a what? I have no idea who or what you are, but I don't think you have a basis for judging me, considering you don't know me at all.

Her point of view doesn't sound like an effective response, but her ideology. Also, why does it mean she cannot come up with an effective response? From my experience, people whose mother tongue is not English then to express themselves more directly and effectively, because they don't bloat their language. Again, you are belittling her for her accent, when really that's not an argument.

The fact that Your insinuation he's addressing someone obviously weak on English She is obviously weak how? Because she has an accent? Accent = weak English = easy target = stupid? That is pretty much the connection you made here. as a target? Questioning someones logic to a statement doesn't make them a target, it makes them the other side of the argument. There; broke it down. Check ur victim priviledge

Are you insinuating that because she doesn't speak English well that she is stupid and therefore an easy target? Because that's what it looks like.
