Well he still made his point in a highly misleading way, and she was still right to correct him. That was an opportunity for him to say, "I could have phrased that better. Allow me to rephrase that..."

I think she was rude, too. It was incredibly so. It is the exact same sort of rudeness that Trump exhibited every single debate. She wasn't right to interrupt him at all. The thing I had quarrel with was that a lot of comments act like she had no reason to correct and that she was just a dumb woman. But, she was right. Rude, but right. I'm not saying her behavior was justified, but others need to recognize when someone is objectively correct, rather than remaining delusional fools.

It's not an irrelevant argument on semantics. He's clearly trying to say that small town Americans are people who matter more or are more correct than others. That's a key point to his argument. And she was 100% objectively correct in her correction.
