I think their reasoning for it is due to one being more prevalent in one than another. They want to draw focus to it, similar to how people bring Ukrainians as victims and Russians as agressors, it is to make it emotionally digestable for more people. Their concern is that, if a neutral framing is used, people will usually go "Oh ofcourse we don't like those who beat their spouse". Their arguement is that, by generalizing it to men, that more focus on the issue is brought and bigger change is do…

Thing is...these concepts alone aren't that bad, maybe it's because I am too woke, but the problem is that many feminists just doesn't wants it flipped. They use the "but if it's used on women, it's misogynistic because misogyny is punching down while this is punching down" and when you dare to go "Well...then give me a framework where it would make sense to criticise toxic behaviour impoed on men, without it being equally appliable and flippable to women" and they just blank out. That's like sa…

I do not know the conditions in South-Eastern Asia, but what I can say that was practiced and worked is for women to organise and take care of each other. Commuting for coping and chats, as well as to provide emotional support. Shelters if things can be financially be better. Unionization is another upgrade of it. Government wouldn't care if few women were mad at their friend getting raped and not getting taken seriously, but if a big chunk of women of the area refused to work, that would do. If…

I appreciate that you don't like the reduntant and blatant generalization of men by the left. I personally don't have anything against feminism when it claims to be for women by women, there is nothing wrong with opening shelters for just dogs, the problem happens when you claim to take both cats and dogs but then ignore cats. This whole no true Scotsman falacy where you can't define feminism or hold it collectively accountable and always has to resort to individuals is really intellectually laz…

Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. By law, it states that men are the recognized offenders while women as the victims. Change of it was opposed by many feminists who claimed gender-neutrality would "fail to tackle the deep patriarchel structure and dilute focus on women".
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates01/04/26 08:56 PM

Please stop this No True Scotsman falacy. Feminism says they are for gender equality yet, when someone points at them not doing so(not saying that feminism trying to be niche is bad), many claim it is not the real feminists. If we can agree that fascism leads to genocide, and that we shouldn't take a fascist who says they are different, why different standard for feminism?

Well...yeah but...no. By pure statistics, women are more likely to have emotional more intense than men, but that isn't that big of a difference and it isn't the case for everyone. You can both acknowledge that a woman can be physicaly stronger than a man, while acknowledging in most cases it isn't. The differences are at a degree where...the affecting factors are more enviromentel and personal than biology, so the best way to tackle it is to go by personal.

I think the closest the data shows is 1/6 vs 1/4 women. I wouldn't be surprised if men SAed more than women, as I think there is bit of nature there, but the numbers are indeed way closer than people think.

As a guy, I probably had witnessed a rape of a girl and I walked past it. It is indeed a case where many of us just can't reconcile with the fact that these things aren't just "out there" but actually occur, that we imagine we won't stumble to them. When it does, we try to make as many excuses as possible to try to justify to ourselves why it actually isn't a problem. There's a thing where we assume good faith, and it's good thing for the most part and in normal social interactions, but we also …

I agree with you to a degree, society absolutely impacts our responses to events and, if persistent, trains us(and our body) to react in a certain way to certain events. However, it's not that the media is making us overly dramatic. I don't know where it came from that, when someone with a gun comes to rob a bank you are at, everyone would suddenly have cartoon-character expressions and start running around and screaming. It gotten to a point where when I see some movies/films that doesn't do it…

I agree with you partially here, there is a social expectation on how you *should* respond on many things. It is shown with studies that you can feel something that didn't physically happened(I don't remember what experiment it was, but there was something like that). However, it isn't simply just the view of it being worst violation the problem, it is the symptom. It violates privacy, boundaries, sacredness of one's own body, that your autonomy must never be interrupted. If we didn't placed tha…

Firstly I'll start with your 3rd point, it is late where I am, maybe I'll come back to it. I agree with you that I would also not have anything against feminism if it wasn't for the fact that it both claims to be egalitarian, and ignores men. So many people have read my post as "Guys! There is a distinction between systematic and cultural. Minorities in a nation could have equal rights, but can be still discriminated by other means. The culture could be perpetuated systematically, but to confuse culture with system is intellectual laziness.

I am not telling men to go to the feminist side, so many are reading this post as that, I am simply saying this post as "please...could we stop JUST criticising feminism and instead do things and criticise?". That's it, that's the TL;DR of the post. I mean, for that, they'd need to propose solutions, and find a senator(I think that's how it works in USA) that would take that issue to the senate and find signatures before putting it through a vote. Due to how the political structure in USA is like, I doubt that would happen. Don't get me wrong, the oil companies have funded those overly dramatic Stop Oil protests to make them look bad, so I wouldn't be surprised if the bourgeouise funded socially "progressive" policies to screw over men so m…

The Duluth model is a scientifically proven to be outdated, pseudo-scientific, and ineffective way of treating both battered women and men, with the latter being ignored in that said model. The researchers seems to lack any relation to feminism, which points to the fact that we can handle gender issues for both sexes by science without resorting to cartoonish frameworks. Yeah but I don't understand how this bill could even fix the issues you raised. I don't see this bill more than a very naive and optimistic but also very general bandage to complex situations. At breakup, the custody, if one really wants it fair, should be based on economic conditions of each partner. I'll have to agree with women's rights protest here, they said that the child should be consulted on which parent they want to stay in, and economic conditions of each partner should be considered.…

First of all, I want to say that I do not view feminism positively, the post originally might've seemed like I was trying to save face for it, I really don't. You seem like one of the few genuine person here, so I'll give me my full thoughts. I do hate the overly gendered framing of things, about how it has to be a boogeyman of men doing things. I am aware of the gender disparity in education, by saying it wasn't systemic, I mean that there isn't cabal of women deciding to design the education system for it. In order for the issue you pointed out to be systemic, there would have to be the schools give lower scores to men, or train teachers to view women in negative light. I say it is cultural because, as you pointed out, it was fixed by a simple thing(which is to hide genders). I am not saying to fix it like that, no no, I want to get t…

Why the hell would a plantation owner say that they need to be saved from committing slavery? The idea was that abuse inflicted by slavery isn't beneficial for the slave owner either, and this sentiment goes back to the early days of colonialism.

I don't know if I am not getting something, but the bill seems to be proposing a 50/50 split, regardless of the financial and emotional situation of the parent and emotional relation to the child, regardless of the child's opinion. I wouldn't call it sexist, rather I would say supporting it is sexist. Suppose that the woman earns double than the man, the financial hit for the man will be harsher than for the woman. The child could also be close to their father, but the court will make it so that…

Okay, let's go by slavery example. While the slaves could and should realize the racism by whites in USA, there is a difference between being systematic and critiquing it while advocating for change, and just critiquing and doing nothing. There is also difference between hatred and pity-love. For example one of the things that stroke me was to learn that there was love for the slave owners by the slaves themselves as they saw them as in need of saving as well. While I' not saying things are same…

I agree with you by 1/3rd. I don't think it was about supremacy in any way, but think it was related to morals by women. I think it was more of a victimhood, the modern form leans more towards female supremacy. I haven't looked much into the arguements of the early feminists, so I may be wrong, but it seems to be more like an internalized victimhood and that women are these moral angels that can't be wrong, and that whatever they do in their mission to "punch up" is right.

I am not saying to not criticise it, quite the opposite, while I didn't putted much word on it in the post as my focus was something else, I have other comments under this post that I criticise it. I am merely asking for us to not let it derail our goals, and saying that it seems to have succeeded in us just criticising instead of taking actions by organising marches and spreading awarenesses. Okay, sorry for framing that way, but at no point the Convention declares that men are always the agressors. Yes, I do agree that it would've been better if it was gender-neutral, but it is also the case that women face domestic violence more than men(atleast that we know of). It is simply a convention to focus on women and children, it is indeed ignoring men as victims, but it doesn't mean men's victimhood is denied. That would be like if I were to create a campaign of "Stop dog bites from kill…

Yes I agree that it is a horiffying case, and it is indeed verified case that women gets much less sentences compared to men for same crimes. There is connection to halo effect, and the case is observed for women giving less sentences to men they found attractive(not dismissing that men gets worse sentences). Certainely an issue to focus on. I am not much educated on why this is the case, but I don't think this is the reason to believe that women hold more power than men.

Yeah, thank you for posting this as I was thinking I might be the only one to point this out. I do agree that we need to acknowledge all of the 1st point. Same for the 2nd point, many of the SJW's and the supposed "progressives" likes to act like it is of an identity issue, it is not; the supposed benefits that whiteness and gender provide to one are not positive(i.e. you getting more) but rather negative(that others get less). While I do agree that the oligarchs has a finger on this, and that men are also at disadvantage, this isn't cause of misandry(though it depends on the definition of misandry. If you consider toxic expectations placed on men like men needing to suck it up, that they have to take responsibility for all, that they need to take care of everything, replace "culture" with "misandry"). I agree, that's why I don't like to go under the umbrella of feminism, it's pretty intellectually lazy, and it just tries to keep it's ideological assumption that "everything is related to hatred of women by men". I literally said majority's problem is that they ignore and turn a blind eye while some of them make all these bad rhetorics. The problem with feminism is that it justifies this, as it wants to see things through a gendered lens. I merely objected the claim that majority hate men, majority doesn't thinks this is hatred of men. It's much worse and subtle, but also it doesn't comes from bad intension for the most part which is what I'm saying.

I am not denying this isn't bad, I am just saying that we should focus on helping men instead of wasting our energy on dunking on feminism. I agree, but I don't know how that relates to what I said. I just said that just because legal equality is there, culturally it might not be the case. I agree with you completely, however feminists seems to not want men in their discourse. It's not necessarily gendered though, people generally end up repeating relationships they grew up in. Whether that's inflicting or receiving. The reason isn't that abused people end up in it but rather just don't leave it.

Yeah, while it is true(for most of the world, at least outside of the West) that males are much more dominant, it's not even close to what the elites are at, and the reason why such a gender difference exists is because of said elites. Like I said somewhere else, and am saying again, an average Joe who is working his ass off in a factory, raised to be emotionally crippled, and lash out to his wife, isn't helping that Joe. I see this as something that can't be solved by criticizing, as most things are. After all, feminism was a movement about women's equality, not equality of gender for men, even though some try to extend it there, I don't think it is right to do that. Until we decide to have an egalitarian movement(as in literally and not just in principle), which I don't think is in the near-future, that is the way to go. Instead MRA-like thing, though way less focused on just dunking on the feminists, and inste…

Wow I didn't expected you to return after that one. Anyways, I agree with you that the essay isn't proper. It's vague, and I'm not some genius who'll give a detailed explanation on what is what, and I didn't read it all after I felt like it had no sustenance, for example the definition of liberalism was vague(as you pointed out). I however didn't clocked it as so because I just thought I didn't understood it. However I think you mean my second sentence. Honestly...I don't remember why I wrote th…

Nah it's okay, also I don't think you are dense, you probably didn't expected it to go that way. Good day/noon/night wherever you are gentleman/non-binarimeness.

Now that you mentioned it, the essay really was quite vague on a lot and was making a lot of assumptions. With that said, a post like that would get you banned from a feminist subreddit and it's interesting that you weren't even downvoted(for this comment at least).

No I mean this is why capitalism bore the contradictory positions of supporting women's rights and seeing them as stay-at-home child-makers. It wants both more workers immedietly in a pool and also more growth of it. It was bound to result in a clash.

I mean, it serves the capitalists. The avarage joe who is constantly ignoring his health issues because he has to man-up, or the emotional distress he is experiencing in his life for the same reason, the person who has been raised to hold himself in such high-standards and was raised to be the bread-winner in an era of humanity where that role cannot be fulfilled because equality in legality(for the vast majority of the part in Wrstern nations) achieved, and due to that, experiences inadequacy a…

I am sorry but I have visited few feminist subreddits and I have *never* seen a post/comment having critical view of misandry being approved. I'm not being biased here, I literally looked for just one example. I scrooled through al(not really but quite a lot to reach about 10 upvote posts and no-comment posts)l of r/Feminism and r/RadicalFeminism. The closest it has been to was them saying that they don't hate all men and such, however such posts sits nexts to overright gender-essentialists who …

I personally don't think it's anything like wanting privelages(atleast conciously, which I consider as a different problem, as, just like religion as you said, they move by this "coincidentally-discovered-benefits" as I call it, where they push for equality, from the heart, until they feel like they are equal, but that equal is skewed by the patriarchel society in a much more domination manner.), but I partially agree that it's more of an identity arosen from victimhood. This is more of an issue…
