You're not an idiot. Sounds like she used you, maybe. It's better to split chores as fairly as you can. So whomever works longest hours does less house chores. (Though not zero chores). Marriage is always a work in progress for all partnerships.

I guess you both married the wrong person. Maybe the next will be just right.

Being 'gay' comes with stress from (mostly men, though plenty of women too) homophobic people.

Why not share a house with one of your male friends? BTW, cooking & meal planning is a chore, whether you enjoy cooking or not. Think of all the prep, chopping veg like uncooked carrots, etc...

Did you live together for a few years before marrying? If not, then why not?

Did you acknowledge her doing housework? WTF.

But outside stuff isn't daily, is it. How hard is it to mow a lawn compared to vacuuming a house, including stairs? I mean, all you're doing is cutting spindly grass with an electric mower. Shovelling snow works up a sweat & could hurt a woman's arms, but it'd be a great workout. Just think how much fun you could've had if you'd shared all the indoor & outdoor work together.

No kids, cos you're not a dad or no kids cos you're an absent dad?

You could've maybe still been married if you'd shared some of the daily grind house chores. But then again, maybe not.

If chores are so easy, why didn't you share them when you were married? Your ex could've had a part-time job to lesson the financial burden & you could've cooked 3 times a week, vacuumed downstairs or upstairs, dusted book shelves, etc. Cleaned the cooker, toilet, shower/bath. Wiped door handles, light switches, washed windows & door frames. Changed the bedding & do laundry 3 times a week. If chores are so easy, then why do so many men avoid doing them?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
