So unfortunately I have to keep it vague but essentially the dynamic is akin to me being a young inexperienced rookie seeking help from an older successful person. I think if I could frame my request from a position of power I would be much more successful but I really don’t know how to do that. Does that help?

I don’t think you have to lie to women. Being honest is honorable even though people don’t appreciate it. It’s not your fault women who come onto you are insecure and you don’t owe them anything.

It sounds very dysfunctional. You sound like a mature guy and she sounds like a decent girl simply because she’s not a nut job democrat, but for marriage that might not be enough.
