I was referring to the average years of potential life lost of men and women and that disparity. At one point women were denied the ability to work in most professions and a husband leaving you essentially meant you were “unmarketable” while having little to no skills outside of the expected duties of wives at the time. That’s not to say they weren’t good at things but were expected to do tasks that weren’t all that useful for a high paying job.
