Yep exactly. I dated a girl like this for a while because she was a smoke show and I wanted to get in her pants. After I did, I started falling for her, and it was only then that I realized how dumb she was. Once I realized that I just wanted to get rid of her ASAP.

Unless she's ugly, then go for it because she's not hearing it from others.

I am an atheist and I've been dating a religious muslim girl for a couple of months. She is absolutely amazing in every way, but the religious differences are the one issue we are grappling with. Aside from that, we have incredible chemistry, we're very attracted to each other, we have quite a lot in common and we have excellent communication. The last one has been key. We're very open to discussion and regularly talk about what we like about each other as well as the elephant in the room. It's …

I was dating a girl who was still going through a separation and she said she still had too much emotional baggage to date, so after we had sex she told me she really liked me but she needed to pause dating for a while. I assumed the real issue was she didn't feel a physical connection, although I was surprised since it was definitely a good night. A few months later she started blowing up my phone, so I assumed she was telling the truth the first time and we went on a date. Shortly after she ha…

I sort of agree with this, but I think this is more true for difficult times you encounter alone while with your partner or difficult times you face together, rather than difficulties you bring into the relationship.

100%. Being typical is not necessarily best especially in this day and age. Honesty is sexy in a time where everyone seems to be confused about how to behave with one another.

Yes, almost all relationships end eventually. By the time you find the person you will spend the rest of your life with, assuming you're lucky enough to be the 1 out of 2 people who doesn't get divorced, how many relationships will you have had by then that no longer exist? The only one that didn't end is the very last one. Do you see my point? I'm just suggesting that you go with the flow and don't worry about the end game. Sounds like you're having fun.

You might enjoy this relationship more if you worry less about the end state and focus more on just enjoying yourself. Almost all relationships end eventually anyway.

Interesting, two posts where you've said that OP is suggesting people pretend, yet he doesn't really insinuate that at all in his post.

That's exactly how I read it, OP didn't mention anything about pretending. There are multiple reasons to take any action, and the OP is just saying to do it for a different reason.

This sounds like a nice adventure brother... just roll with it, enjoy it and keep your wits about you. Keep being yourself and try to take things where you want them to go to see if there is a conflict in intention. Have fun.

I think you need to seize the day. I know you're shy, I am too, but I would follow my gut here. It's actually a great situation because as someone else mentioned, if she says no you don't need to worry about her being in one of your social circles, and you're in control of whether you ever see her again. So you really just need to find the courage for 5 seconds, and the rest will work itself out.

It's hilarious that here we have perfectly reasonable advice from a girl responding to the question "Is it wrong to ask a girl for her permission to kiss?" and she's getting downvoted.

The problem is you've got it backwards - you think that getting noticed will give you confidence, while in fact having confidence will get you noticed. Maybe you should go for shorter, uglier women for a while until you build up enough confidence to start approaching more desirable women.

The good thing is a mushroom trip is less than half the length of an LSD trip. Also, shrooms have a more "earthy" characteristic so I find it's easier to correct a bad trip on shrooms simply by going into nature.

Pretty crazy, I had this thought half an hour ago and decided to browse this sub to see if anyone else could relate, and more specifically if anyone can speak to their results with this realization. I'm actually excited to date again for the first time in a couple of years because of this.
