We're not talking about the west and how women are treated, we're talking about Afghanistan and why media attention has focused on the plight of women stuck there under the new Taliban regime. Hint: The answer is pretty obvious.

Probably because females are disproportionately treated like shit under middle eastern theocratic extremist governments.

I agree, I can now see the logic behind alimony payments to a disadvantaged ex spouse but I agree the lifetime payments make little sense to me. At some point the other party should be expected to be financially independent

We are all for mens rights, but what about responsibilities? You like others have brought up significant facts to consider. I appreciate that. I'd like to know your thoughts on whether you think this obligation should continue indefinitely or not?
/r/MensRights16/08/21 04:50 PM

It does make sense as an equalizing factor when one person is at a significant disadvantage having no job history or education. I appreciate the cogent explanation. Thank you
/r/MensRights16/08/21 04:44 PM
1

You raise really good points. I could see this being a short term measure for the ex spouse to get back on their feet and the amount relative to his potential income is fairly small. Thanks for refraining this for me, it makes some sense now. But for life? Nah. Agree it should have some time limit.

If someone is invited as a guest (like if it were the boyfriends sole idea to have this celebratory dinner) then traditionally he would be the one paying for himself and his guest.
/r/MensRights27/07/21 07:16 PM

I see your point and I think its fair, however it doesn't appear that this celebratory dinner was entirely his idea, nor the subsequent dinner for her second promotion.

This survey and organization have a clear agenda. Its just a dog whistle and you fell for it. Edit: Example - the right to associate on the basis of religious belief and even the right to express those beliefs is under attack. Under the guise of “nondiscrimination” policies, religious groups are often told that they may not choose the membership or leadership of their groups using religious criteria. Other students who merely express religious beliefs in public are condemned and even punished fo…

No one has the right to lay hands on another person just going about their day, whatever their motivations are, male or female.
/r/PussyPassDenied21/08/20 11:33 PM
15

I disagree, if you examine the events contextually I doubt her reaction would have been so vociferous had she thought she had been inadvertently touched by another woman. The phrasing she uses suggests a level of violation and disrespect that hints at her interpretation of his touch as having perhaps a sexual motivation. Just my interpretation. But she wasn’t using her gender as a female to get something. Her friend was actually hit & mistakenly thought is was him, but they found out it was the door... Its obvious to me that you didn't watch the video from your statement. It wasn't her friend, it was her brother (she says so multiple times) & she made an assumption of sexually motivated assault based on her gender and the gender of the person near her

And this is in this sub why? Because the 'prank' is predicated on the perceived vulnerability of women which the lady attempts to exploit to execute the joke on her victim. Instead of apologizing and kowtowing to the situation he's been placed in, he subverts the premise (denies the prank) and turns the tables on the woman and her friends.

Someone who has paid a secured bond, which is money the defendant pays to the court to promise them they will return for their trial. Bonds are usually provided by bail-bondsman who take 10% of the bond and cover the rest of the money themselves. The full bond is returned to the bail agent when the defendant shows up for their trial and they keep the bond fee. If the defendant fails to show for their court case, the court retains the bond until the defendant can be produced by the bail bondsman …

The city has agreed to place only women — not single men, as first planned — at the 200-bed homeless shelter planned for 127-03 20 Ave. in College Point. The facility is expected to open this week. Area leaders who fought to get the plan stopped declared a partial victory. Concerns had been expressed about placing single men — some of whom may have been formerly incarcerated — near five neighborhood schools with young children. Residents also called the 20th Avenue location bad because of its la…

"The astronaut told the New York Times through a lawyer that she was merely making sure that the family's finances were in order and there was enough money to pay bills and care for Ms Worden's son - who they had been raising together prior to the split." A woman filmed licking a tub of ice cream and returning it to a grocery store shelf in a viral video last week is facing up to 20 years in prison, police said Thursday. The footage — which has been viewed more than 11 million times — shows the so-far unnamed woman opening a container, running her tongue across the ice cream then laughing as she places the violated dessert back in the freezer, in a branch of Walmart in the city of Lufkin, eastern Texas. Police said on Wednesday they believed they…

If you make no attempt to obscure your identity beyond adopting a non de guerre it's hard for me to follow that line of thinking

Imagine if someone took those "public appearances" of yours, linked them together and made available on the internet - suddenly we have your schedule, timestamped map of movements, (times when you are or aren't home, as a specific example). That's completely different than what the Vice article is describing imho. It would be more akin to doing a customer facing job that has a potential for social stigma. If I were going to work such a job, I would probably have to come to terms with the potenti…

I think hes referring to the potential social consequences of their career choice.

Let me pose a question to you. Is it still a violation of a persons privacy if the information used to match their profile was exclusively posted publically in the first place?

Here you go - On Thursday, a lawsuit brought against Jim Carrey over the death of his ex-girlfriend was dismissed, according to a report by theWrap. Jim Carrey is no longer facing a lawsuit from the family of his late girlfriend, Cathriona White. "The case against him has been dismissed," Carrey's attorney, Raymond Boucher, told USA TODAY. Also what does she mean by 'redo' ? If anything, the version of Ghostbusters she was in was the redone/remake version. Does she really not see that?

She also slapped her teacher when she was confronted.

Nothing she could have said makes her deserving of an unprompted assault like that.

No one was heckling her from Sargons group. He literally said nothing to her for her entire panel, she called him names in response to a completely different person asking her if she really 'believed everything she said." This person wasnt with Sargon or his group and wasnt even sitting with them which is why her tirade against him came out of left field. This is all outlined in the video and supported by footage taken by other attendees.

I like how you don't address anything I said. Your story is full of contradictions. Maybe that's why your friends laughed you off?

Youre ao drunk you can't comprehend anything, yet you seem to have a clear recollection of events and even walked across the house to another room, despite being so incredibly intoxicated.... EDIT: You state in your replies that you were being passive about the whole thing. Being so drunk you can't say no is different than simply being too passive to tell someone no.

You aren't going to get anywhere with this lawsuit. No one is responsible for your brothers death but himself. Attempting to gain monetary compensation because of it, is revolting.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
