Interestingly, my ex convinced me that my ADHD made me an asshole (that I would excitedly talk to other people when I was supposed to be talking to him, I’d forget to text him every time I left the house or left where I was, or that I’d forget things or be late…I mean genuinely those last two aren’t great things but they didn’t deserve the absolute berating I got constantly)…but I was supposed to just excuse his “depression” that made him treat me like shit. Turns out it was just affluenza bc he…

My ex was “depression” and that’s why he could be terrible to me but so great to everyone else…because he “felt comfortable enough to be himself” around me. He was pretty charming to the woman he was cheating with too…wonder if now that they’re married she gets that treatment 🤔

Ugh he probably gaslit her into believing that now her looks will never let her land another man, and she’s lucky that he “forgives her” for whatever she did to “deserve” this. /s

That’s a hard no. In my experience, they always seem to have one lined up (if they weren’t already dating her behind my back) I’ve been single since a rebound after my long term ex cheated on me then skipped out to be with her and I have no desire to date again.

This is brilliant, I never even considered this. But it makes so much sense

I literally did this. It didn’t work, and in fact made it worse. Fortunately I was still strong enough to realize it was a bad choice but I still glorified it in my head for years. I’m so grateful even in my pickme days I was able to see that every other girl there was also damaged

Literally my 30s have been the best so far and I know it will just keep getting better. Problem is when my body won’t be able to keep up 😭 youth is wasted on the young

What the actual fuck is wrong with these men. Also…the picture this paints of an incel neckbeard illuminated by the glow of his monitors…actually has an odor. 😖

I think we get too smart to fall for it after 25…gotta strike when we are too naive and get pregged up and pinned down before we know better. My life post-25 has just been better and better every year

I wish I realized pre-FDS that “6-year boyfriend” is a red flag. I always felt stupid saying he was my boyfriend…it felt so juvenile. He ended up marrying the girl he cheated with in less than 2 years. I should have known he would never marry me even though I often asked him if he wanted to and his response was “eventually just not right now” which I accepted bc I wasn’t ready either (we weren’t financially in the right place and were living 1000+ miles from our families and I wanted to get back…

I totally get this. The guilt trips and actual anger that I didn’t want to have sex with him and how that made HIM feel…even pouted and told me when I would cave that he didn’t want to anymore because how dare I make him feel rapey. The mental gymnastics this clown went through to make himself the victim…

And the reason this gained in popularity was because at strip clubs, showing “hair” was considered more nude. So the women began to slowly get rid of it to wear more and more revealing undergarments without being as “nude”

I wish I had FDS when this same thing happened to me. I tried to fight so hard for the relationship and I got burned HARD. (Ends up he was emotionally - and then actually - cheating on me for months. With our coworker. Who was my “friend”) 6 years of living together and he disappeared on me and I thought he was going to kill himself. That coward let me believe that rather than telling me the truth. It will be so hard but you are making the dignified choice. Good for you! The only thing that work…

What about a serial monogamist? My ex cheated on me after 6 years with a younger new thing that came along and expressed interest because I was starting to better myself and I think it intimidated him. She got pregnant and they got married. He committed to her but could never to me, and I struggled with a lot of insecurity over that (what does she have that I don’t, why was I not good enough) I realize now that it was because he needed someone beneath him and I was getting too educated/independe…

One time a man almost twice my age (I was 30, he was in his 50s) Rode his bike next to me on a trail while I was running for TWO FULL MILES and hit on me and didn’t ride away until I said I had a boyfriend

I am also brand new to this subreddit and WOW did it open my eyes! I love it so much. I’ve always felt that BDSM (particularly male doms with female subs) was just veiled abuse by one and a trauma victim trying to own her trauma by the other. But I always felt like that was a bad feminist, kink-shaming thing to think. You all confirmed everything I’ve already been thinking, THANK YOU! I got out of not great relationship with a LVM in a pretty hurtful way and then went on a few pickmeisha adventu…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
