I'm in the US and get an error saying this content has been blocked my country on copyright grounds?

NOICE! I knew this song and knew the flip, but had totally forgotten.

Actually, that's a whole other -- and likely better/more productive & entertaining question.... What's the ratio of [Women hatin' men]:[Men hatin' women] pop songs of the last century? I'm betting at least 4:1 And I'm not going out of my way to find offense... I mean "Goodbye Earl" is celebrating murder, but ALL of these songs are fiction, so: meh. The cartoonishly evil "Earl" did deserve it, within the fictional context. Next up: GORNOP para-Covers with "Goodbye Pearl".

A scrub is a guy that thinks he's fly (#1 arrogance) And is, also known as a buster Always talking about what he wants (#2 selfishness And just sits on his broke ass (#3 money) , so No, I don't want your number No, I don't want to give you mine and No, I don't want to meet you nowhere No, I don't want none of your time And no, I don't want no scrub A scrub is a guy that can't get no love from me Hanging out the passenger side of his best friend's ride (this may be a stretch, but implying does no…

There were certainly more reasons why a man was designated as a "scrub" than monetary... But from having just re-listened(watched) the song/video, most were money-adjacent at least.

"Asking for help" from people around you is an agency I have as a man if I feel threatened. I wouldn't call it "force"... Just sayin'. I've got little opinion on the real number vs. fake. It was shitty when I'd call and find out a number (Which I believe only ever happened once, but I'm an old fart and this wasnt something being taught), but simple enough to shrug off

I believe the point was that's [violence from not getting a number] an astronomically small number of psychopaths and not reason to tell the entire population of women to behave as though all men are such psychopaths

I don't think this is enough of an issue to worry about. An argument could me made that the degree to which men only see women as sex object is overblown might be made... but I wouldn't bother with that much either. Both are arguments in decimal places.

I do not think so. And I recall from one if the anthropology courses I took in the early 90's that there have been matriarchal societies in the past. Of course it was so long ago and so briefly touched on, I remember no additional details...

I don't think you know what patriarchy means. Don't feel bad, I'm frequently bewildered on that point too. But, I'm pretty damn sure that "non-western" cultures -- eg, the near east, middle east, far east -- got PLENTY of patriarchy themselves. Or maybe not, like I said I have no idea what some of these people are talking about sometimes.

Many Christian put less emphasis on the old testament anyway, regardless of how evolution formed complex life something started the universe which gave rise to evolution and God is that thing, many accept that the creation myth is a parable and not to be taken literally, many others feel a need to explain that a step further by saying "how long is a 'day' to God?" -- meaning each is billions/hundreds of millions of years... Seriously. Young Earth Creationists are a rare damn bunch. Obstinate mor…

Not an RP, but the majority of Christians believe in evolution. It's a few fundamentalist wing nuts who deny it. [And apparently build $6 Million 'museums' to celebrate their ignorance.] Source: My sister is a minister. Virtually whole family is Christian. No creationists.

I don't think it's exclusively a woman thing. more of an age thing. In my mid 30's I remember timidly admitting to a friend that I was afraid I'd never be a father and his face lit up and he said, "Oh God, me too!" That was almost 10 years ago and economics have been such that neither of us ever had children. And never will (well, my CLF and I have talked about adopting once we get to a better economic place).

As others have said: much greater disparity in female statutory rapists. No jail time, sometimes no punishment whatsoever.

I did not. Do I have the right to vote?

subject to call-up Yeah, I can sympathize with that feeling but I don't think it rises to the level of No Vote For You! Civilians also work to support the war effort in other ways.

do anything to defend their right to vote Just curious, have you done anything to defend your right to vote? I haven't. I pay taxes and that pays the government which holds the elections. [And pays the military to defend the right, but it's been a long time since they were directly defending the US.] But that's about it.

If X is their prison/probation sentence, then sure. Once The Debt to Society has been paid, they deserve the right to change the laws they were convicted of breaking (Obviously, I'm focusing on cannabis prohibition)

Finally, I can be on the blue side a discussion here. Every adult should have the right to vote, women and felons included.

You asked for anecdotes of false accusations. I provided two, off the top of my head. And you disqualified those by parsing language. Moving the goal post/"no true Scotsman" fallacy. THIS kind of bullshit is what created TRP and keeps it alive.

As far as your anecdotes, those are not related to false rape accusations. Those are just shitty women. I know a bunch of those too Violence is violence. Rape is not sex, it's violence. Both anecdotes relate to false accusations of such violence against women. The latter one, explicitly to extort money and control of property unjustly. And neither would have happened had the gender roles of the participants been reversed. The argument is not (I don't think) that All women are out to get All men.…

self-improvement My point as these nominal "self improvement" things for men are almost always focused on women/directly relate to women's issues. What does healthy (heterosexual) male sexuality look like? What does healthy male conflict resolution looks like? Where is the movement to teach men sane coping skills vs. "take it like a man", "boys don't cry", "quit yer bitchin'"? ... I'm getting off topic, this is only tangentially related, as I believe boys are not taught effective emotional healt…

I was just commenting on another post (in another sub even), that discussions on "modern" male behavior are almost always a list of prohibitions, and that what a modern man should do is never discussed. And then I went on to admit that my own cynical heart whispers, "That's because they don't want you to do anything. Except die." Which is obviously childish hyperbole, but it's there deep down in my mind. I think that's where the zero-sum perceptions comes from. And so far as false rape allegatio…

part of dirty talk As someone who has a solid enthusiasm for dirty talk and thus have frequently talked with SO about it... majority of women (or even "people" for all I know) feel awkward about talking AT ALL during intimacy. Which isn't a boner-killer, more of a mild bummer. [And obligatory: of course, I drop the topic when my partner declines, etc.] I'd rather there be some kind of non-verbal way to communicate consent -- which most would argue is what has existed since the dawn of time, but …

Could someone help me wrap my head around the "Affirmative Consent" thing -- are BOTH parties required to obtain affirmative consent from the other, or are men singled out? I think a better concept might be Affirmative Male Sexuality. instead of listing prohibitions and shit, start making lists of what we DO expect healthy men to do.
