Nah man I really appreciate it. It's tough love in here. I'm used to it because I'm a blue collar worker as well. I'm pretty disappointed in my self. I'm naturally big at 6'2 and at one time I was in pretty good shape. My lack of discipline is to blame for that and I'm ashamed of it. So I'm trying to get back there physically and get somewhere I've never been mentally. I'm currently reading WISNIFG and just like NMMNG it's pretty eye opening. So thanks again.

Thanks for your explanation. Your post made me lol though. My father's definitely not fit as fuck. We're both fat but I'm working on it. This is just a question because I don't know. In your experience do alpha fathers pass down their traits to mold alpha sons? Is it a condition of their environment? Or is it dependant upon the father and son as individuals?

Alright. I can do that. I've been really grappling with your first line. I've identified that with my counselor. It's just been a week and I know it's going to take time. I'm gonna continue on the path that I've already set. He's already been thrown out. I'm gonna maintain frame and enjoy the holidays with my family. Your last line is also him to a T. So, we'll deal with any impending conflict when it comes.

Nah, thanks for your input. I do need to work on removing my ego from situations.

Dude I just don't understand how I'm being conflict averse or putting my insecurities behind my kid. My background is very similar to the one you had with your step father. He worked all the fucking time. Called us vampires and leeches because he let my mother dictate financed and fucked him with their money. I had two fist fights with my dad growing up. One when I was 13-14 and told him he was acting like a bitch because he was fighting with my mom about something trivial and the other was beca…

No. I promise I'm not. It's just that you provided me with one opinion and multiple others have provided me with theirs. I have to filter through and make correct decisions. You and judgedoom have been very helpful and "forced" me to look inward.

Well I guess I fucked that boundary up because I've told my mom that. She refuses to come without him. That's why I've went over there to see visit with her and let my daughter visit. Thanks for your input. You're right. I've got to make a decision and not break from that.

Alright. Mentally how do I do that? I'm not trying to be ignorant I just truly don't know how to approach that. Like as an example and I go over this weekend. Do I just maintain frame and not let it affect me until it no longer affects me?

I'm not sure I follow how I allowed him to do sneaky or direct. As soon as the sneaky was done I handled it and made myself very clear in that regard. I also have handled the directness. Just not physically as you have suggested and I'm not going to just because of any ramifications that may follow. I have bills to pay and two other people who depend on me. I wasn't gifting him with visitation. I took her there to see my mother and my sister. He was present. It may very well be ego but he wasn't…

I've never intentionally weaponized my daughter. When this all went down it was two weeks before her first birthday and I flat out told him that he's not welcome. He wasn't going to ruin something special for me. Once he went behind my back and asked the sitter for pictures and special visitation of my daughter that was when a line was crossed for me. It was simply the fact that he was sneaky enough to do something like that without consulting me and I'm sorry but I'm a little protective of my l…

Thanks for your input. That's pretty much what I've decided. I've visited my mother several times and he just sulks in the corner and doesn't speak. My current frame was to just ignore him and spend time with my extended family while building the traditions of my own family. To your concern - I think that may he his mentality but I think it's for different reasons. She just won't put up with his bullshit anymore then I will and it tears him apart.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
