Aight, chief, I'm gonna level with you. I'm a middle aged married man and dated plenty before settling down. I like this sub bc I'm in sales and I think a lot of the techniques translate. But a lot of yall treat this like a game and women can sense it when you're playing games. Hey, if it's working for you, who am I to judge? But that was never me. How did I get women without studying seduction techniques? By being interested in them and not trying to just get laid. Don't get me wrong, I've had …

Sometimes when people don't think they have worth, they subconsciously put themselves in situations to remind them of that. Plus when you're with a garbage person, it absolves you of having to work on your own shit

Gotta be honest, that's not exactly a stellar source. It's an article quoting a Harvard study that got taken down for reasons the article's author is literally just guessing at. I'm not saying that domestic violence doesn't happen to men, it absolutely does. And naturally that means that a percentage of domestic violence is committed by women. But it only hurts the cause if we use suspect numbers to make that case. Give people a reason to doubt one number, they'll doubt all numbers.

Get a source on those numbers? That 70% seems high

Where is she complaining about "where are all the good men"? This is just a fat woman looking for hookups who says upfront that she's married. Has this sub just become another /r/fatpeoplehate? Maybe her husband's into it. Maybe they're poly. Maybe he's got a cuckold fetish and seeing his wife get plowed makes him love her more. Who cares. It's none of my business. This thread sucks, be ashamed of yourselves.

Dude, this is terrible Photoshop Edit: downvote me if you want but even ignoring the completely incongruous lighting, the dog has a shadow on its chest on the right but the woman is casting a shadow on the left side of her pillow

Are you stupid? Of course toy only ever hear about the crazy ones. Of every group, in every debate, in every instance. The crazy ones are the stories people want to read.

Every side has its crazies, son. Best to ignore 90% of what you see online. Those are the people who have time to post all day long. Find the adults and deal with them, not their angry, entitled children.

Yes. Not an internet, third wave, everything's offensive one. But a real, "equality means equality and nothing more" one, yes. All the time.

Exactly. There are things we get automatically disadvantaged on. This isn't even close to one. This is textbook insecurity.

Fuck off, Piers, standing up with the women in my life doesn't make me less of a man, it makes me more of one. Someone fighting for their rights doesn't take any of yours away. If being scared of today's protests makes you feel emasculated I think it's time for a long look in your makeup table mirror

I meant more "historically". Not trying to start a thing here. Like I said, not my area of expertise.

I don't think the fact that the majority of STEM workers are men is because we're better at it, I think it's because we encouraged boys to go into it and discouraged girls. Which we should change because we need more STEM workers, regardless of gender.

Forgive me, I'm new to these types of issues, but I thought the gender strife around STEM was more about getting more women into STEM and not as much about getting equal pay. Is that not the case?

I'm all for actual gender equality but isnt this a simple supply and demand issue?

To be fair, this could just a easily be two horrible men talking about their divorce, although its statistically much less likely. Sleazy lawyers are everyone's problem. And that second woman should be forced to carry a big red flag with her wherever she goes.

It was a long time ago, but i told her something along the lines of how i was going to amaze her with my seductive words and then laid a bunch of funny-bad pick up lines on her. Obviously she already liked me or it never would've worked, but yeah, that's what i did. Self-awareness looks a lot like seductive confidence.

I got a girl one time who I had a "date" scheduled with in a few days, but I wanted to talk to her before then. But I didnt want to come off as needy, or anything. So I emailed her (I'm old, this was before texting) I was going to bombard her with all of my best pick-up lines until one of them worked and she would be compelled to come over right now. And then I threw every cheesy pick-up line I could think of at her, she told me later she was dying laughing the whole time. She ended up coming ov…

If you're bad at texting, you can spin that in a funny, positive way. If she knows youre joking, then really bad flirting can be just as good as really good. For full disclosure, I've always been more of a serial monogamist than a PUA, but in my experience, if you can make her laugh, she's yours.

A 4th possibility is she's fishing for a compliment, want OP to look and dismiss her friend as not as attractive as her. A 5th possibility is that she's got some bi tendencies or at least a little kink to her. And finally a 6th possibility is she doesnt like her friend very much (she's willing to betray her privacy and confidence) and subconsciously is doing a little back-stabbing. Whatever the case, OP, I suggest you ask her why she wants you to look, tell her youre happy looking at only her ti…

Dude, you're overthinking it. Go over. Say, "Hi. I'm He25. What's your name?" Shake her hand. Then ask her a contextual question, e.g. If you're in a library, ask what she's reading/studying. That's it. You're not asking for her hand in marriage. You're not even asking her out. You're just following up on a smile, meeting someone new and trying to find if she's interesting.

But that's not what it says. It doesn't say just people who fit those descriptions should apply. It's saying they don't discriminate against those groups. Trust me I used to interview and hire people.

I'm not advocating anything. You know what I'm saying. Whatever may be the case today, woman HAVE been discriminated in the past. So have racial and sexual minorities. All "equal opportunity employer" means when an employer says it is "we don't care who you are, just please don't sue us."

Meh, you know that's not really what that means though, right? They don't mention straight white men because none of those 3 things are minorities

OK. I like it. Basically youre saying that if you ask a woman what she wants in a man, she'll either say, "You" (possible but unlikely or you wouldnt be asking) or she'll describe someone who is definitely NOT you. not a bad working theory, op

This is good advice. Dude, she's your girlfriend - you're exclusive, you go on dates, you have the sex, you flirt and talk - she's your girlfriend. For whatever reason, though, the label scares her. Labels are silly anyway. But at some point, you're going to be cooking dinner together or doing some coupley shit and she's going to realize it too. For now, dont push her on it. just be happy being together and the label thing will work itself out.

Its not hard to be better than a douchebag. Any girl who chooses a douchebag over a decent guy is whatever the female equivalent of a douchebag is and you should thank whoever you pray to for dodging that bullet. Take comfort that she eventualy left that Douchebag for an even doucheier guy 6 weeks later, too And as to your opinion on Number 1, I think youre right. Basically a real man, a confident man isnt afraid of showing someone how he feels. Finally I'd like thank my parents and friends for …
