FDS has made me distance myself from men. I no longer pander to them or seek their approval. Their approval is worthless anyway as they are mostly low value. Yep, same here.

I'm a single mom and have 3 kids and that's the plan.

I'm at a point in my life where I am living #5 to the best of my ability and at every chance I get. I'm loving it. Also this post is making me tear up, because I needed to hear these things around age 10. Idk if I would have listened, but maybe. I've wasted so much time dealing with LVM and LVW and trying to earn their approval. I ignored my own desires/passions/wants/needs. I have a 10 year old daughter now (about to be 11) and am already preaching FDS strategy to her. Every young girl and woma…

Don't cope with it, leave. This was 100% relatable to me and by no one's surprise here, it got worse and really bad over time. I hope she leaves, this is heartbreaking.

100% My ex ruined me financially for a long time. I started recovering almost immediately after I kicked his ass out. Never again. I will never again let a guy know what's going on with my finances and will never give them access to it.

Imagine spending that money and time having your makeup done only to have a cake smashed in your face. ShE jUsT nEeDs To LiGhTeN uP /s I've always wonder why people think this is so funny 😒 the bride is just expected to laugh along....I'd be pissed. I would want to still look and feel beautiful for my wedding night without being all sticky. She warned him, too, making this just blatant disrespect. I love the advice given by Prudence.

Same with my ex. Almost 15 years together...he wore me down slowly until I was almost nothing. I stopped going out/having friends all together. NEVER again. Been single almost 3 years now and am on the lookout for these assholes. First sign of this BS I'm gone ✌️

I'm a single mom of 3 kids with a total abusive narc of an ex. Been single almost 3 years now, but I try not to talk about my ex much at all with potential partners. I could truthfully go on and on about what an unhelpful POS he is, but that's the last thing I want to talk about. It is telling when people start talking shit about the other parent, especially right off the bat.

I enjoy holidays alone vs spending them with my NV ex. Christmas, Valentines, BDAYS....for this exact reason. My ex was extremely sexually coercive, its really sick. I will never let a man do this kind of shit to me again. Holidays should be fun...I'm so sorry you dealt with this kind of stuff.

My abusive ex tried to move me to another state and I am SO GLAD I never went. But he gave up and went with your 3rd point and I'm slowly rebuilding my own relationships years later. The isolation happened slowly, over almost 15 years, until I almost had no one left. He wanted to homeschool our kids and live out in the middle of nowhere...can you imagine the hell we would have lived if that happened?

Thank you and I'm sorry you dealt with similar men. We got together very young, when I was in a bad place emotionally so I was easy pickins for this kind of guy. I dealt with it for 15 years and had 3 kids with him. I'm appalled at myself sometimes for putting up with it for so long AND having kids with such a terrible man, but more appalled at the lengths he went to keep the manipulation and mind games going. I couldn't imagine hurting someone like that. And once I got out it was so sad to know…

☝ I was said punching bag for a long time. My ex loved helping everyone else (work and personal life) but treated me like absolute shit. I feel like he also thought if I ever tried to tell people about the abuse and shitty things he did no one would believe me, because he appeared to the outside world to be such a good guy. Looking back now that the fog has lifted just leaves me with a disgusted feeling. He hated me, but needed an outlet so he could keep up the facade. Its disgusting how often t…

This is good advice and a way better way to "put yourself out there." I've never done OLD. I'm 33 and have just read and heard about too many horror stories from too many women. I don't even want to try it!

so never give them a play book. Yes! If they are a HVM they definitely don't need it. Otherwise it'll be all pretend 🙄

this guy is a really good narcissist, great at winding her up, threatening her and putting her into a heightened emotional state, and then acting cool, calm, and collected, making a contrast between her emotionality and his "rationality". This is a huge tactic used by narcs and predatory LVM I just wanted to say my ex did this to me so many times over our 15 years together. Makes me sick thinking back. Be very careful of all these seemingly woke, "eco-friendly", nature obsessed men Also 100%. My…

Congratulations! I was with someone for 15 years and finally kicked him to the curb a little over 2 years ago. NO regrets. It was really, really hard to do. Good luck on this new chapter in your life ❤
