I didn't realize until after the separation that I was absolutely love-bombed while dating. She pretty much begged me to propose. I'm not sure how much of it was me having rose-colored glasses for a woman who I thought was out of my league or her just hiding who she really was until after the marriage ceremony. More than likely a combination of both.

Ending the day by getting into our king sized bed with our two pups, watching Chopped or some other cooking show all snuggled up. God I miss that comfort.

We've been separated for only 4 months at this point, so it's still pretty "fresh". I catch myself thinking it every couple of days. In my notes app I have a note called "reasons I left" and it's a list of, well, reasons I left. They're not things like "because she was btch" or anything (even though I could easily say things like that), but rather specific tendencies and things she would say/do that would make me feel bad about myself. It's sometimes hard to read because I do have really good me…

The last couple days have been rough for me too. This was a really hard week because it was Christmas, then our anniversary, then new years. We loved this holiday season, so it was three gut punches in a row for me. We've been separated for 4 months now so this was my first time going through this week without her. I have a list of "reasons I'm going through with this" (the divorce) and reading it helps a little. I don't do it out of animosity but because I need to remind myself that I'm better …

This was my exact situation. And yes it did affect the marriage. It became a big issue because while we were dating we couldn't keep our hands off each other. But about 6 months after the wedding it became the situation you wrote. It led to resentment and emotional distance. The feeling of rejection was the hardest thing because it's one of my biggest insecurities, even outside of interpersonal relationships. Sexual compatibility is one of the most integral parts of a marriage/relationship imo. …

I'm going to be an outlier here and say I appreciate this post. I really would like to go to the gym because I know I could benefit from it, but I have chronic back pain that prevents me from just up and going to work out. I would need a personal trainer or something to know how to do it safely. When I go by myself I just end up feeling worse from strain or just outright throwing out my back. I've resorted to walking instead. It's not as fulfilling but it is safer for me.

I'm saving this and putting somewhere I can read often. This is such helpful advice. Thank you
