Some one at work used mansplaining against me. I said it was a gendered slur and showed in the employee hand book how it counted as as harassment of a protected class (gender). Most harassment manuals have making a comment about a "characteristic" of a group in a negative fashion as harassment and gender is a protected class. Ya. The interpretation I see a lot is that the women does most of the household spending (food, house supplies, stuff for the kids, and etc.) which isn't very exciting and has the opposite implication really.
