I'm from Western Europe and I although I've never been to the US, I think it's not as bad there as it is here. In the US, you can still go to a bar and maybe talk to a group if strangers. This is unthinkable in Western Europe. You only talk to the people you've entered the bar with and, if necessary, the waiter. Americans are still rather outgoing compared to us.

There's a difference between making jokes and hating. A former friend of my sister often said that she hoped all men would die. And they also made jokes about men. Men, on the other hand, tend to joke about everything which doesn't mean that we actually hate that group. What gets the most on my nerves is that people are often seen as somebody who despises women just because they disagree with them. I am a very disagreeing person and I actually don't care about whether I'm talking to a man or a woman! Wouldn't it be wrong if I accepted everything women said and excluded them from all the discussions I'm partaking?
