I highly recommend it. There is a section in the book where Nick loses his job and just becomes a slob who plays video games and trashes their apartment all day. I really recommend cutting him loose before going on the trip. I've been in a similar situation where I got fed up and went to Fiji without my partner (now ex). Got annoying calls from him the entire trip and lots of paranoid/jealous messages (and cheating accusations! fun!). I specialised in Librarianship. They skip over the fact that throughout my Masters I did subjects on data science, web design, teaching, etc... "You had to study to learn how to put books on shelf?".
