When dis you live there, not sure whether this still holds up. 5 years is a lot of time in superficial culture land.

Yeah, I have some guy friends who do the same. I think it's a horrible habit, personally. Just make sure she doesn't think you dislike her, so I'd go set the third date at the same time. Good luck mate

I think his issue is with him not wanting to be texting all the time, not that he doesn't appreciate it. Just respond when you feel like it, but don't think about it as a game. Just go at your own texting pace. You can tell her that, as many comments pointed out: you tell her you like her, set a third date, also communicate that your not always on your phone or texting, and reply at your own pace. Especially in the pandemic, a lot of people are on their phone, A LOT.

Oh for sure, afterwards I was thinking OP is probably about 22 or so, which a couple of years younger than I am. I feel like second half and first half 20s is a big generational divide when it comes to this type of stuff.

Yep, that's probably the most interesting metric if it's a consistent divergence from what it was before!

We mostly make these plans when we're together. Like "hey we should go out for dinner again!" And then we just look when we can. But you're right, of course I text. But what I don't do is text her things like "I just went for a run, it went really well!", or "I'm meeting Jeff tonight, what are you doing?". I just tell her when we see each other, which is usually once every three days or so.

This is funny. I've seen some people point out that he wasn't interested in you in the first place. But to be honest, if my girlfriend used this analysis on our convo history, it would also seem like I'm not interested. We see each other a lot anyways, so I don't really text unless I find some interesting video. I'm not interested in texting whatsoever. So I think you need to watch out with texting analyses, because someone like me will almost never initiate, no matter how much I like you, just …

To be honest, if my girlfriend did this program to me, it would also seem like I'm not interested, but we see each other a lot, so I don't really text unless I find some interesting video. I'm not interested in texting whatsoever. So I think you need to watch out with texting analyses, because someone like me will almost never initiate, no matter how much I like you, just because I feel like texting is not genuine interaction with anyone.

Mate, that's not advice. Any basic yardsticks or literature I could look into ? It's not even an answer to his question in the first place.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
