2	Measuring life success based on how far you are above the average person doesn't sound particularly mentally healthy It is unhealthy because there is no "average", or at least most people don't see it, and thus "the average" is just an irrational feeling. Just so you know, most people self-report that their driving skills are "a bit above average". Also, the absolute majority of upper middle class families think that they make "a little less than average".
