How can you say that with a straight face, when the American government is openly spying on its own citizens and they seem to be okay with it? I don't want to turn this into a Europe vs America thing, but the US is pretty far from a liberal government. If the 2nd amendment is such an effective deterrent, I'd hate to see what the government would be like without it.

Many feminists like to present this 8% triumphantly, as if it's a really small number. It's not. That's 1 in 13. For every 13 rape cases, 1 is false. According to the 2016 Uniform Crime Report, there were 90,185 rapes reported to the police in the US in 2015. This means that at least 7,000 men were falsely accused in a single year. I wouldn't even go that far. It's just a matter of happenstance. Moms are at home doing fun things with the kids, while dads are working. Of course a kid is going to love its mom more, because that's how kids are. Plus, most kids of divorced parents live with their mom.

It's probably true that men have an increased predisposition towards power and leadership, which is evident from the high percentage of male politicians and CEOs, but that doesn't mean most men want those things. Very few men want to be politicians or CEOs too. It's just that there are more men who want power than women who want power. This doesn't mean that men, as a rule, want power.

It baffles me how so many feminists take this phrase literally. When someone says "this girl was asking for it", they don't mean that she was literally asking people to rape her. It's like saying: "If you leave your car unlocked, you're asking for it." In other words, someone is gonna steal your car. Instead of broadening the sex offender list even more, I would argue that it should be abolished altogether. It's an extra-judicial form of punishment that haunts people long after they've paid their dues to society. How are ex-convicts supposed to be rehabilitated and reintegrated back into society if we keep treating them as outsiders or second-class citizens? And that's without even mentioning the many many many people who are on that list wrongfully or unnecessarily.

I see your point, but her joke wasn't gendered. It was simply a tasteless joke. Plus, she wrote for SNL, a comedy show. Comedians are always given slack. Many male comedians have even gotten away with making nigger jokes. I don't think this particular case is a gendered issue.

Seeing how many MRAs commit the same error when talking about feminism and feminists (for example, conflating sex-negative feminism and sex-positive feminism, or calling radical feminism simply feminism), I don't think this problem will ever be solved.
