Holy 3-month necro. Was my comment linked on a subreddit to draw fresh attention?

Words that support a singular view and make generalizations about this board's opposition, posted over pictures of a woman who's name we do not know and thus can't fact check, who may or may not even be saying what the text implies her to be saying. This is what /r/MensRights is. I think it's time I find a new MensRights board, since this one is beginning to feel a whole lot like how /r/Atheism feels in regards to actually fostering discussion and change.

This subreddit isn't exactly roses and peaches either. Not by my standards, in any case. I'm willing to chalk some of it up to how reddit works, wherein down votes hide and eliminate dissenting opinions. However, there's a fair degree of hate on this subreddit that the MRM could do without.

As well as none of that "You're a feminist so you're automatically wrong" stuff either. none of that "you're a man so you're automatically wrong" stuff Should read instead: "You disagree with me so you're automatically wrong." If we can all agree to those 5 basic points it'd be fun. We shouldn't be doing the "Them/Us" thing.

the implication that we are an equal part of the problem when it comes to the dialogue breaking down Judging by the way the votes are speaking in this thread, I'm beginning to feel like /r/MensRights is just as bad as we claim /r/Feminism to be. I was once proud to be an MRA, but now I feel like this subreddit exists primarily to feed resentment.

That is a lie OP. Some of what you wrote on there (for example, no "sexism against men, which doesn't exist") DOES NOT exist on the /r/feminism subreddit sidebar. That's like spreading misinformation, and you're making MRA's look bad because of it. You should be ashamed.

And because OP tacked it on, I'm down voting this thread. We should not be encouraging lying, which is kind of what the OP is doing. The fact that this thread is so heavily up voted is making us look bad. Someone should remake it without tacking on misinformation, and then we can all discuss the issues in that thread instead. Edit: Perhaps lying is a strong word, but clearly there's at least one person who misinterpreted OP's message.

What about a legal system where the gender of either party is unknown to the judge/jury until AFTER the trial is over and the sentence is made?

Unfortunately.. Many males will take whatever they can get.
/r/MensRights28/08/12 02:05 AM

So was your above comment sarcastic then? It flew right over my head.
/r/MensRights31/07/12 12:03 AM

But does it?

Just wanted to throw this out there, but there's no such thing as an 'alpha male' personality. What you're thinking of is an asshole. 'alpha' and 'beta' males don't exist, except perhaps within a bdsm relationship of some kind. I can't really speak for that, however.

Rest assured, it is still men and women that will be designing and building (literally) the future. FTFY (If nothing else, men can't get pregnant.)

Private tuition. ಠ_ಠ

"Beta males." That's a term I've seen several times in the past week, when I can't remember seeing it but once or twice every few months before. Why is this idea of Alpha, Beta, Omega crap getting popular?
/r/MensRights04/05/12 07:34 AM

Maybe not 12..
/r/MensRights07/03/12 06:48 PM

Makes sense to me, I guess.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
