If the roles were reversed, though, it'd totally be the guy's fault though, right?

This is one of the major problems. If a woman hits a man, "he must have done something to annoy her", but if a man hits a woman? He's instantly in the wrong!

It's clear we're not going to change each other's minds on a Reddit thread, so let's just leave the conversation here.

Nawww, feminism has turned into something completely unrelated to what it was at the beginning. I now consider myself a humanist or egalitarian rather than a feminist, simply because of what the movement has become. Feminism is what coined the terms "manspreading, mansplaining, manterrupting" (which, in and of themselves, are sexist terms). Not to mention, from what I've seen, feminism does not focus on men's issues at all, with some even denying they exist.

And yet if the Male said that, there would be an uproar.

A man would have gotten longer, sadly.

Men make up almost half of domestic violence victims. You're excluding half of domestic violence victims by implying only women get abused.

Strange. I always had a say in what school I went to. But just because boys go to Eton doesnt prevent women from going into higher positions, right? Women can choose to become MPs just as much as men. They're not actively prevented - which is what a so-called "patriarchy" would do. Or am I misunderstanding your point?

I've done a little bit of research into Eton. I've seen that it's a private boarding school with an 8:1 teacher to student ratio. Perhaps this isnt a gender thing, but just the fact that these boys are receiving better education because it's in a better school with smaller classes?

This was really strangely worded. Could you clarify?

Oh really? I'd like to hear about how women are prevented from getting into positions of power.

The reason why men are "at the top" is because women make different choices than men. It's not because they are prevented from getting into positions of power.

But it's not run by men because women are prevented from getting into positions of power. Women make different choices than men.

But men make up the minority of students in university, are 2x more likely to be a victim of a violent crime and receive worse prison sentences for the exact same crime. There are more, but I'd end up hitting the character limit lmao. Not sure how this equates to patriarchy.

God, I'm sick of hearing about white males having "privilege". In the UK, at least, everyone is given equal opportunities and no one us prevented or deterred from doing anything because of their gender, race, sexuality, etc.

I could list off loads of reasons why they're not. Men are twice as likely to be a victim in violent crime. Men are far more likely to be falsely imprisoned as opposed to women. Female-on-Male rape is not legally recognised. The definition of rape only covers penetration with a penis Men receive worse prison sentences for the EXACT SAME CRIME In news reports, female death will be treated as more tragic than Male death (eg, "37 have died in a bus accident, including 10 women and 5 children".) Men…

God, if only they talked about men's rights.

Yeah, I've written this down. Also spoken about men receiving harsher prison sentences for the exact same crime.

Noted. Many thanks for all your suggestions!

"You do not fucking touch women, do you fucking understand me?!" Oh, so it's completely okay for women to treat men like she was? And men have to just put up with it?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
