Acts of terror bring unwanted attention to their criminal enterprises. Look up kneecappings in Belfast, at least 4-5 a month this year, it's mostly on young guys stealing cars and house breaking. The paras have the drug market cornered, even selling weed here can be a risk to your life. They have kept heroin/meth out for the most part, Chinese and East Europe gangs have been bringing that shit over though. https://youtu.be/IDIr2rVaQaI?t=187 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj49-sVBjR4 Wouldn't be…

Arrests don't matter here, only convictions. Unless I plan to go into security services which.... no. Also, I have a fairly good career already.

Well... It is not hard to find out who I am, the communities are pretty small here. Many people have connections to paramilitaries here, and the majority of social justice is dealt out by them. If she is related to people in the UDA/UVF/any of the RAs then it could spell big shit for me. If you check the other comments another Belfastian recommended using a public phone to make the tip...

Jesus man... thats not alright. I hit her once and that was enough. That one punch could have been enough to kill her... As much as I want to defend myself killing someone is not something I could comfortably live with.

I was in the back of a police car with several officers all wearing guns, batons and stab proof vests. I was calm when they arrived, they probably saw no point.

I raised counter charges during the interview. is it possible the police infringed upon your rights by arresting you despite evidence that you were defending yourself? There was no evidence aside from the lump on the side of my head and bruises/scratches on the outside of my arms. She is in a pool of her own blood, it is understandable that they arrested me.

This, my heart sank when I was told. I would be forced to leave the country...

They were not arrested at the time, they were both taken to the hospital, and the pregnant woman was given an ultrasound and her face repaired. I was provided a solicitor, I raised counter charges during the interview.

I ride a pretty distinctive push bike, and this took place right outside a party I had just left. They could have found me easily and made it look like I was the perpetrator... sticking around was a fucking good idea.

I did not show remorse at all in the interview. The officers were very understanding that I was acting in self defence. because people don't feel bad if they didn't do anything wrong Being put into a situation where I have to hit a pregnant woman to stop her. That makes me feel pretty fucking bad.

I already raised counter charges in the interview, hopefully when my charges are dropped I'll hear if it will go further, if not I'll seek legal advice.

I hadn't considered that as I'm in Northern Ireland, so obviously do not want that coming back at me. I'll either make an anonymous tip this week to the health trust, or once my charges are dropped I'll raise it further with the police. That may be viewed as me trying to attack her though...

I looked her up on facebook, she already has 2 children. She lists her hobbies as going out and getting hammered. I filed counter charges, but I doubt anything will come from it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
