Well, in my case, I wouldn't have left unless for her having the affair. I hold my vows and oaths sacred. Most people go into marriage knowing there is always an out through divorce. So, that exit is always in the back of their minds when things get tough. Being a Christian, I know that I was supposed to honor my vows and her. I did my best and tried to make things work. But, luckily, I believe God interviewed and allowed her to stray into the arm of another man. Since that is the only exception…

This sounds so similar to my experience. I was married for 22 years to my "now" ex-wife. Back in 2022, I was tipped off that she was seeing her old high school boyfriend. The person who tipped me off gave me screenshots, receipts, and banking statments showing they were getting hotel rooms on the nights my wife was "supposedly" working late. So, I called her at work and asked her if this was true and she denied it. Finally, I told her I had the evidence and asked her plainly if she wanted out of…

Then, you are golden man. Just grey rock that woman and divorce her. Just give her an email to contact you and move on. Let the lawyer do the communicating or of your using an arbiter, split everything down the middle, and bounce once you agree on the settlement through email. You will be better within 6 months and on to greener pastures.

Yeah, I just realized that the person you are talking to now is her true self. You were only loving the idea of who "you" thought she was. She will try to push buttons and illicit an emotional reaction from you to use against you. So, take all emotion out of your relationship and communications with her from this point forward. Emotional responses will only hurt you and make your life harder. Trust me when I tell you there is a 99 percent chance you will see Karma come back to nail her within th…

Keep a journal every day once you do this and note everything you say or she communicates with you. Keep as much evidence and screenshot and emails as possible. I ended up only giving my ex my email for divorce communication. And I only checked it during the week. I didn't even look at those emails during the weekend unless it was a critical issue. Also, look into the Grey Rock Method and use it from now on. Things will get worse before they get better, but trust me, it will get better.

Relationships have ups and downs, but anger and outward displays of aggression are red flags. It is also most likely only to get worse the older he gets. Drugs are one thing, but hurting animals is frankly unforgivable. They are innocent, and the fact that your dog was a rescue ran chills down my spine. The simple truth is he sounds like a typical narcissist who is trying to control and is getting his supply from you. I would wager things were rough when you found he was on dating apps. He may o…

Well, just remember that "Great men are forged in fire. It's the privilege of ex-wives to light that flame. " But, if you are trying to get that ring melted down in fires of Mordor, I will be more than happy to be part of the fellowship on that quest to free middle earth. We just need to grab the second breakfast before we go on that adventure.

I took mine to Smith, and they are going to melt down. But, it was made of Tungston, not gold, though. It is super hard to get a high enough temp to melt tungsten, but this guy has the equipment to do it. Once I figure out what I want to make out of it, I will repurpose it into that.

Keep it up. Each day gets a little bit better. But, there will be days or setbacks. Don't get discouraged and keep on doing the work. When you are in the storm, it feels like you're going to get blown away by the sheer force of it. But, if you hold on and pray, the storm will pass, and clear sky's are on the horizon. I have faith in your ability to come out the otherwise of this brilliantly.

I'm glad that you recognize and give credit to him for walking with you through your divorce. The same thing happened to me once I was forced to file. People will try to dismiss your faith or act like God somehow punished you or was out to get you. The truth is God allows these situations to occur to make us stronger and give us the opptournity to overcome and learn from a tragic experience. That's how we grow and become more humble. I always thought of it as I was in a bad marriage and wouldn't…

No worries, my dude! Im here to help as are all of us. To answer your question, anywhere you see someone you think is interesting or attractive. Women are just people. The best advice on how to talk to them is to pretend in your mind that they are not pretty or unattractive. Heck, even imagine they are a buddy you haven't seen in a while. The key is just to be sincere and smile when you talk. Don't think about what might come from the convo. Just live in that moment. You should go into the inter…

Work on yourself. You won't be able to enjoy a new "healthy" relationship unless you work on the areas in your life that you may not be happy with. The best advice I could give anyone is as follows: Gym - 2 hours a day for 6 times a week. You meet all sorts of positive people in an environment that is good for every aspect of your life. When you feel better, lose some extra pounds, and see results in the work you're doing, and you will be amazed at how much this improves your overall life. Churc…

Hey buddy, I know the pain and confusion you are feeling right now. You feel like your entire future is gone, and your past was a lie. There are times you feel like this is your fault somehow, or you should have done something different. But, believe me, you are going to be alright. In the beginning, you are going through so many emotions, and it's almost impossible to keep your thoughts and emotions in check. This is normal and part of the process. I'm 48, and I caught my wife of 22 years cheating with her old high school boyfriend. The situation was just that I was working a lot of hours with a new job and her emotional needs were not met "aparently". That does not excuse the affair, but once the trust is broken, I just divorced her/forgave her (for myself) and moved on. God didn't want me in that place of my life, and infidelity is the only way I was able to divorce her according to the Bible. So, he's put me on a new path, and I will wa…

Stay away from Strippers when lonely. Those women will milk you dry if you let them. They nailed my buddy when he was going through his divorce. I dabbled, but nowhere near the thousands of dollars he threw at them. Get a dog, they will help you meet women and are man's best friend for a reason. Also, the gym is key. Spend 2 hours a day in there, taking your emotions and frustration out on the weights. In 6 weeks you will thank me. Good luck, my dude! "Great men are forged in fire. It's the priv…

Not at all. Divorce was the best modivator and defining moment to happen to me. I just know the numbers don't lie. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are a few rare examples out there that don't repeat their cheating pattern. But, it's a fraction of a fraction of a percent. After 47 years on the planet, I can not recall one cheater who didn't cheat multiple times on each of their partners. But, I hope you found one of those unicorns and have many happy years with them!

On the day my divorce was done and signed off by the judge. My friends and I went that Friday night. I don't remember anything after the shots were being poured down my throat. The liquor and "Party Favors" were flowing like a raging river all night long that we were celebrating. I woke up the morning in bed, laying beside a very attractive woman, who I don't remember meeting the evening prior. We have been dating ever since. She is a solid 7 and an amazing good person. It's about a couple of weeks. Once I forgave her (for myself, not for her) and move forward with my life. I found that when I was mad during those 1st two weeks for the affair, I was only hurting myself and thinking inwardly. Once you forgive them, it takes all power away from them in your thoughts. Plus, by doing that, it no longer let's them live rent-free up in the old brain. If I did get upset at the situation, it was time for the gym run. There were days I was working out 3 times a day. Also, I noticed that once the divorce started, time seemed to slow down drastically. When we are in a routine and just in a bad marriage, time and years fly by. Since mine started back last April, time has slowed, and it feels like time is moving by slower like when I was in elementary school. That may just be me, but it was nice to feel like I actually lived a full and exciting year.

And we have a BINGO! She is almost 40 as well, so a mid-life crisis was part of it as well. I'm not gonna put all of it on her for the marriage failing. It takes 2 for that to happen. But, to have an affair instead of having the hard conservation, that's where I lost all respect and filed for divorce. She sacrificed her best character traits to have that affair. I would have never questioned her integrity, honesty, or character prior to that for 22 years. So, she had me fooled, or I am just a ba…

It takes 2 people no longer working on the marriage for it to end in divorce. I won't lay the blame squarely on her shoulders for the marriage ending. But, what i do blame is her having an affair instead of ending it like an adult and doing it the right way. 22 years together should end the way it started, as friends and part as friends "in a perfect world". We were not uncivilized to each other or hateful when things were twords the end. We just became roommates, and the love was gone. As far a…

Wow. These are some red flags. I get it, though. When we men love a woman, we give our all and love unconditionally. Because that's what husbands do. Pur responsibility is to protect and be our wife's security blanket. We shield them, we lift them up, and we provide for them. Unfortunately, some women don't appreciate those things and take it for granted. I feel your pain, and you have my sympathy. I want you to know this, just because she didn't appreciate who you are, she will get hers eventua…

I will give them a listen tomorrow. Riding the bike before hitting the weights is boring. I've been listening to some LitRPG books currently, but I will check them out. Thanks for the suggestion. I appricate you sir!

Anytime, my man. If you need to vent or message. I'm at your disposal. "Stronger Together!"

Well, that's why I wanted to share my pain and story and try to be there for someone else who's hurting. I'm glad I was able to put something on here that helped you. Keep strong, my man. We are in a boat out in the sea in the middle of a storm. The waters are choppy, and waves are trying to tip our boat over. Just keep your hand on the wheel and keep your ship afloat. The storm will pass, and calmer waters are ahead. You just have to weather the storm. I used to work in hospitality for 10 years…

I feel your pain, man. Listen, here's the one peace of knowledge I've gleamed from this whole shit show. Once a cheater, always a cheater. Once that trust is gone. There will be no way to get it back. No matter how bad you want to. She betrayed you, my brother, and you didn't deserve it. Also, I understand the waking up thinking it was a dream. I'm dealing with that now, but I learned quickly to get angry and ground myself in the situation. Once you realize, accept, and move forward, you have wo…

She tracked me down and called me somehow. I have no idea that people can search for your cellphone numbers, but she did, and thank God she did.

Thanks, I do appricate that. I'm just working on the problem. I'm not going to say that the first week and a half wasnt hard. But, I had to work through everything that happened in my head. I wasn't able to eat, still no apatite, but I was dropping weight and then was as good as time to take advantage of the weight loss and not being hungry. I'm living on spinach and kale smoothies and 1 chicken breast and banana a day. My routine is getting up at 5am and going to the pool and swim 10 laps and t…

Now I can since I'm removed from the situation. When we were married, I overlooked everything because I loved my wife unconditionally. But, now I see the signs and red flags. It is what it is. There is no need to look back, and there is no need to go forth in pity for myself. It's time to put all that energy into working on myself. As far as I'm concerned, I need to reach out to others who may need help and are in this situation. If my broken ass can get back up and dust off, then anyone can. So…

Well, the woman who tipped me off saved my ass more than I could say. With me confronting my ex, I was able to catch her off balance and prevent her from broad siding me. I was able to react and get the process started that next day. I don't know if I'm proud, mostly just disappointed, but I'm not going to look back and doubt myself. Damage is done, and I'm going to rebuild myself and become the version of the man I always wanted to be. In 1 year, the weight will be off, my health will be great,…
