Nah I don't really believe that about the 20% but ok. It's just OLD that's fucked up, outside it is much easier and I can get women of my level of attractiveness. Problem is now everything is stopped. i live in Europe, nobody under 70 goes to church :) but thanks!

Good for you! I think that's the best way to meet someome, through friends or in any situation where you don't have the pressure of dating from the start so you can grow attraction slowly.

Yep, I agree 100%

I'm doing that already. But tbh I'm a bit tired of fwb and hooking up, I know the solution is to date outside of OLD, but this is more difficult now with the virus. But then I see women posting here and on dating subs that it's so difficult to find men that want something serious... and they wonder why. Well, that's why.

I didn't have that experience.

They are there because I can see them when I swipe.

Oh I totally agree, that's the point of my post.

I do not get matches with women I want to date. I can get plenty of dates from OLD just not with women I would normally date in the wild. I know the average male redditor experience is different, I guess this is a different take. I can get dates, just not any that can develop into something serious. That's the point of this post.

I don't really get your point. I do not have bad experiences with OLD, just that the quality of people I get the chance to meet through OLD is much lower than in real life, hence it is not an effective tool to meet long term partners, at least for me.

I have been in 3 relationships, 3y, 4y (2 living together) and 1y (last one the we broke it of because she went back to her country). It is not a problem of finding relationships, it is a problem that with OLD I do not get almost any chances if I keep the same standards as I normally have

I do not get half of what you said. But yeah ratio is definitely a big factor.

And zero serious relationships. It gets you on a date where you no longer get to blame this on OLD because you're in person. I went to one real date in 6 months... how is that my fault lol. My standards are fine, because I have plenty of chances and dated several amazing women that I met in real life. As I said in my post, I compare the women I match with women I have dated or I can date in real life. It would be very different if you couldn't get a date through OLD at all. If I only swipe right…

Found your problem. Do you expect women to chase you? You do the chasing. I do chase women that meet my standards yes. The problem is that I only match with them in spectacularly low numbers. Yep, I can. Why do you think you're relationship material for women? Actually yes, I meet plenty of perfectly fine women outside of OLD. Just to be clear, I think dating women is great, I have dated amazing women but always meeting them in real life. It's with OLD that I have a problem not with dating in ge…

All of these are excellent points and I agree with all of them. Not jumping into bed will help you avoiding unnecessary risks and will filter those men that are not interested in a relationship, but it will not increase your chances to generate true commitment from the man. Except maybe with some more traditional minded men as you point out in point 6. However, some men will also be repelled by the idea of you withholding sex from them as a strategy when they can read you are clearly into it, as…

Labels mean nothing, words of commitment mean nothing. It's the actions and the desire to return to the same woman, that's what counts, and that can't be negotiated, it's proven over time. I think this is the key and a big part of the misunderstanding around commitment. Commitment cannot be negotiated, just like attraction. There is a difference between asking for commitment and asking for exclusivity, just like there is a difference between asking for sex and asking for attraction. I think most…

I think the time when you have sex is completely irrelevant when it comes to commitment. Commitment depends exclusively on your ability to keep a man attracted to you at all levels, including sexually. You might get his commitment before sex, but that actually means nothing if he is ultimately not that attracted to you, and will bail from that commitment soon after. So what women should look for is to become that most attractive as they can, and that bears the following question, is having sex e…
