| -1 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support. You're wrong. First of all, I chose my partner with great care. Along the way I dated some gals that smelled of trouble, but I got smarter as I got older. My wife, like me, is more interested in providing a stable environment for our family than she is in making out for herself. Even if that were not so - even if I found myself in the sort of situation your discribe - I would set aside any of my own needs in favor of the needs of my son. I would pay my support. I would pay it on time. I would pr… | /r/MensRights | 25/06/10 01:32 PM |
| -2 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support. When the best you can respond to reasoned and logical statements with is insults, you make my argument for me. Apparently you find my statements so unassailable that you can not begin to rebutt them. Thank you. | /r/MensRights | 24/06/10 01:18 AM |
| -1 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support.Your comment >"you are probably a woman anyway" is revealing. You are so angry that you are entirely blinded by your bias. I am not a woman. My wife agrees with me on this one. So does my penis. You are wrong on this... as you are on much else. If the things that you describe had happened to me I would think about how I managed to get into that situation... since I would have been I who married a woman who shows some evidence of being unbalanced. Here's the thing... you can't control the actions… | /r/MensRights | 24/06/10 01:03 AM |
| -7 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support.Saying things to stupid people that they don't want to hear does not make me an idiot. The only stupidity around here is a whole lot of mentally challenged folks who will entertain no ideas that they don't already believe. Now that's stupid. I've already bred, in any case. My son is advantaged in that he has a father who is wholly present in his life. He is not suffering for my absence or the absence of my financial support. He will go to university. He will have all the advantages I can offer h… | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 10:17 PM |
| -4 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support.I welcome your downvote. Being downvoted by a retard is like a badge of honor. I wear it proudly. For the record - from wikipedia: "The argumentum ad hominem is not always fallacious, for in some instances questions of personal conduct, character, motives, etc., are legitimate and relevant to the issue." This stands as such a case. Your assertion otherwise reveals you to be a tool. | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 10:07 PM |
| -2 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support. Is that really the best you can do? If semantic bull is the best you can come up with to rebutt my arguments, you are wasting everyone's time. I'm not going to waste a whole lot of effort responding to this level of stupidity, but I'll bite this time. I support my family. I do it financially. I do it emotionally. I am there for my family in every way. My own needs are secondary to the broader needs of my family. Someone inclinded to point out semantic crap (someone stupid) would probably suggest… | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 09:56 PM |
| -4 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support.I'm not saying the system is perfect. No system is, and this one certainly falls short. Jailing isn't intended to correct the payment issue, it's intended to disinsentivize deadbeats. And it works. Without this recourse there are many - very many - idiots who would abdicate any responsibility for their children. I'm so tired of hearing how everyone is a victim of the system. If you are in the system, the only one who has victimized you is you. You chose your partner. You participated in the conc… | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 09:44 PM |
| -10 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support.Your child is entitled to what the judge say he's entitled to. Period. Does your phone company ask you how much you can afford before they forward a bill? Do they ask you what they should do with the money you pay them? The only inequity here is in your mind. | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 09:34 PM |
| -4 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support.Wrong again. I'm really very smart. Smart enough to not get married until I had found a partner that I knew would spend her entire life with me. I waited to have children until I had the emotional and financial means to support them. I'm smart enough to continue to work hard every day to ensure that the things that I value most get the attention they deserve. I'm smart enough to realize that the things that I want aren't terribly important in the scale of things. I'm smart enough that I've been … | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 09:22 PM |
| -5 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support.Support is money for just that ... support. As in basic necessities. Ball gloves make fantastic gifts, and I endorse their purchase and use by dads. But make no mistake - this is not support. This is an extra. You seem focused on what is yours... I think this is a problem. You should instead adjust your focus to consider what your child/children are entitled to. That is the most important thing. | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 09:10 PM |
| -6 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support. You reveal your childishness. That you would devolve to such immature communication points to exactly why you would be unable to maintain a successful relationship. This is a scenario which will never affect me because I behave like an adult. I don't let my emotions or my selfish impulses rule me. You though, can not say the same. Let me know how it works out for you. I'll be sitting here counting my money and enjoying my well-adjusted and emotionally balanced family. Please tell your children t… | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 08:58 PM |
| -8 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support. Is it so hard to believe that someone might hold an opinion other than your own? I'm a father. Happily married with no plans to change that situation. That said, if I were to split from my wife, I would make damn sure that I met my obligations to her and to my son, in exactly the same whay that I pay my utility bills and other expenses. I don't like shelling out money any more than anyone else... but I pay my bills and meet my responsibilities. Anyone who does otherwise should be ashamed of them… | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 08:48 PM |
| -11 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support.Support payments are set according to income levels. Individuals with little income pay VERY LITTLE support. Not having much money doesn't change the fact that one has a legal, moral and parental responsibility to provide for one's children. Also, some, if not many of that 52% are gaming the system as they under-report their income or work under the table specifically to avoid having to pay support. It is disgusting to see people (male or female) so entirely selfish and self-absorbed. | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 08:29 PM |
| -12 | Debtors Prison - If you don't have a license, you can't make money and if you can't make any money, you can't pay child support. Here's a thought... pay up. If you are being held to account for failure to pay support it is because you are legally responsible to make those payments. Make them. Make them a priority over your own personal expenses. Then no one will take your license away - and everyone will be happy. | /r/MensRights | 22/06/10 07:42 PM |
